I bought it back in December but didn't need it till now. My side detection modules failed because of a crack in the module. It caused some haywire in the programming. The insurance agent for car shield denied it because he said there was rust in the units. I don't see how he can determine that since the units can't be opened. The initial cause was the crack in the module letting water in and making the unit fail, NOT the rustinside before the crack occurred. There wouldn't be any rust if the unit wasn't cracked. Now I have to bare the cost of fixing it myself. I am now wondering if I should continue to pay for this insurance. I am thinking that I will be denied for the next simple fix. Calling arbitration was impossible. I tried 12 times and I could not get through to them. Think twice or even 3 times before you decide whether or not to go with this company. The agent assigned to look at my car is not there for your interest , only to save the company money. GOOD LUCK

These people up here Scam, do not give these people any money. I’ve had them for almost 2 years $129 a month. My keys were locked in my car they wanted $216 to unlock it so why am I paying $129 a month and anyone that I’ve tried to use CarShield everybody refuses them because they are not reputable. Bottom line is they don’t want to pay a dime, and they never use new parts.

I have been a customer on and off since 2019...but it seems as if its always something. For this company to take money every month, it has only paid out one time for AC for 1 of 4 or 5 cars that I've had covered. But this last incident makes me never want to use them ever again. I had 2 cars covered. 1 canceled for non payment which i thought both should've been canceled being that they both was on the same policy. I realized that they had been still pulling for 1 of the cars. I asked to cancel the policy and please return the last payment they are attempting to pull that I didnt authorize. I was told no refund can be issued. Even though I explained I was getting charged for months and I thought the account was canceled. Pay Attention..make sure they cover everything or its a waste of money. And if you never call and cancel you will still be charged.

I would love for the people saying they got their claim approved to tell me how they did it. Cars been in shop for 2 weeks and they haven't so much as started because they amount of time the book they use to tell them how much labor hours something should take to fix goes by national average and our repair was more then the hours in the book. Confused by this and many calls later they have now changed the amount of time approved from 2 hrs to .5 hour. Rip off and scam. Guaranteed the reviews saying otherwise are fake or bought. Check the BBB page if you don't believe me. The representitves tall over you and cut you off. Worst people skills I've ever dealt with in my life. They are rude enough to pass off the pope!

Car shield is good for taking payments but when I needed them they tell me my mileage wasn't enough to over my repairs in other words I didn't drive the car enough to cover damages. Working and driving my other car allowed me to not drive my 2013 genesis except maybe to start and around the block, later finding My motor might have failed contact car shield and was told My mileage was enough after paying months of car shield payments I feel car sheild is as false as the words they pay Ice cube or any other actor advertising their product. The money I spent making monthly payments could have been used to repair my car because Car shield didn't and it's sad to that car sheild maybe targeting people of color and not fulfilling their obligations because several people have had the same result. Don't believe Ice T , I ove my brother as an actor in movies, but advertising for carshield absolutely not ! My car broke down route 22 Union NJ on a Saturday. Car wouldn't start, so the only alternative was to call Carshield. I've spoken to a receptionist in regard to my car issues. Carshield said one of the carshop places that's the closest to me is pepboys. We have a contact with them, 2 miles away, so I agree To towe it there. Towing truck guy arrived warning me that he just got over the covid 19 virus, so please put a mask on for your protection because im still feeling kinda light sick. I didn't want to ride with the guy, but I had no choice. At least he was honest, so I wasn't too mad about it, so I put a mask on. I get to pepboys it's 6 pm place close at 7 pm. They can't do the diagnostic until the next day because they have two customers in front of me, and plus, on weekends, we only have one mechanic working, but we'll do our best to get you the diagnostic results, I said ok no problem, well I didn't hear from pepboys so I'd waited until Sunday early mornings to give them a call. They told me my car diagnostic, and the step is to call Carshield first Monday morning. Monday late afternoon Carshield never called me and ask how's everything going, infact I arrived at pepboys unannounced to see what's going on. Enter pepboys spoken the receptionist about my car. He looked pised off looking at, like something made him mad. I asked what going on? He's asked am I the one with Carshield and have a silver Ford Taurus on our lot ? I answered yes, his statement well you need to call Carshield because they refuse the parts we've gotten them your car could been done. I've Carshield to find out what going, now remind you I just made a payment within the same month before all this happened. So I called Carshield, a woman answered the phone, I explained what had happened. She's start saying it's mechanic pepboys' responsibility to explain to me about the procedure at the shop. Well, I went back into the shop and spoke to pepboys. I explained to him about what Carshield said. His eyes got 5 browns rising. So make a long story short In up paying out of my while, Carshield and pepboys refuse to cooperate, holding my car hostage. My two jobs threatening me, I was catching Uber. So I'm telling you do not get Carshield because they will leave you in a bad situation.

I don’t know where to began.I purchased car shield and within a week I decided to decline.I spoke with Deonna and told her I decided against my policy .she refused to accept my answer that I no longer wanted the policy. She asked me the same question I know at least 4 times. Why? When I informed her to let me talk with a manager she said you can’t There is no one else the buck stops with me and then said if you raise your voice to me I am going to hang the phone up and I was shock that you would tell a customer paying money for a service this.sure enough she hung up the phone. I got on my laptop researched every VP and ceo , cfo at car shield and emailed and complained. Called back to car shield and complained. They her had her to send me a letter and her job title was a customer service agent. They thought that I was going to pay for the first month I called my credit card company disputed the charge and won.. If I could I would give them a -10 stars. Worst warranty I had in my entire life. They said we had full coverage, but they only wanted to cover $402 for a waterpump and labor, when the estimate I got from the bodyshop was $824. And they told me I had to pay out of pocket for the amount it was not covered plus the $100 deductible. I don't know why they said you have full coverage but in reality you don't. They only cover until a limit of money and you have to pay out of pocket for the rest. If you want to do yourself a favor and to have this problem in the future DON'T again DO NOT PURCHASE WITH CARSHIEL A WARRANTY.

I’ve had coverage for my vehicle for over a year and and begin having some problems with my car. I called Carshield to inform them of the situation, at leaving messages it took several weeks to talk to someone about the problem. Once I talk to them, they tried everything to refuse to pay. After they scrutinize each form of maintenance information they they called my service center and requested the same information, my service center sent them the information quickly but CarShield still waited several months to agree to pay. Meanwhile I was out of transportation for about three months even though I had vehicle rental coverage but they refused to pay for it. My repair center gave them the price of the repair but CAR SHIELD only paid only 60% of the bill. After this incident I called to let them know I was disappointed in their service and requested to cancel my policy. Would you believe that Car shield continued to take money out my account. Worst Company Ever.

This is a scam! I have been a customer for 2 months. My van currently needs transmission repair according to the dealership mechanic. It has been in the dealership repair facility for 1 week, mechanic has submitted diagnosis information and now the Car Shield people are instructing the dealership mechanic to take the transmission apart for an adjuster to check it out at my cost ($3,111.69). Mechanic explained that the standard of practice according to the service bulletin from the vehicle manufacturer is to check for the codes and if the specific five codes come up, it means that the transmission has failed and needs replacement. It does not need to be taken apart and repaired because it is sent back to the manufacturer and a replacement sent to dealership. The dealership wants $3111 before the part can be taken apart because they are afraid they will not be paid by the warranty company. They claim to help people not to have a headache and spend too much in repairs - A gimmick to draw people in. Having read other reviews, I'm worried that I have been scammed too! This is terrible!! This is a current experience for me.

I am absolutely disappointed with this service. My vehicle has been at the dealership for approximately 30 days. Spoke with the dealership and the dealership informed me that car shield was the hold up. Spoke with car shield who is really American auto shield. Carshield just sold the policy (deception 1). Found out my claim went to client relations or customer relations because my vehicle has a salvage title. The claim was sent to client relations on Thursday July 14, it took me calling myself on July 20th to get a response. Low and behold the response was the claim was denied. The claim was denied due to the "salvage title". First of all, did not know what a salvage title was or had ever heard of it. Rep explained what it was. Next issue, if this is an issue that would prevent repairs to taking place why wasn't this disclosed at the purchase of the contract. Response "this is very uncommon and we can't see that at time of enrollment". This is because I asked the rep when you ask for the vin# don't you guys look this information up. So it does not show up when you purchase the contract, but it shows up once a customer needs the service. Then the rep also told me that part of the reason it went to client relations is because the surcharge that a salvage title vehicle should have wasn't in the contract. Of course it wasn't because that wasn't mentioned as a clause nor was that asked. Then after I go through all these loop halls, the resolution is to add the sur charge for future claims. Explain why would I at an upset moment ( very upset, you can hear it in my voice because I was almost in tears, but trying to maintain some sense of decorum) would you ask me to pay additional money for future claims and my car is currently at dealership, been there for 30 days, etc.) Then I asked well since I wasn't aware and you clearly see that can I pay the back surcharge and then can the car be repaired. Flat out no. I spoke with 3 different people who were very scripted, cut and dry, there is nothing we can do. I am absolutely disgusted, I feel that I was deceived and sold this contract under false pretenses. Also, I am not a person who writes reviews, just to let you know how disgusted and disappointed I am with this service. Please add to your intake sales calls that customers who are rightful owners of vehicles to make sure the title is not salvage so that no one else has the experience that I have had. And the report came from a pre inspection report before I even owned the car, to go through that much to deny a claim is absolutely ridiculous.

Ms. Jones,
We appreciate you reaching out to us with your frustration. We are here to address your concerns and assist you in the resolution of this matter.
We spoke with your service contract administrator, American Auto Shield, regarding your claim. They stated that your claim was denied due to the vehicle having a branded title due to a total loss on 12/28/2020. Carfax does show this was prior to your purchase of the vehicle.
It is also noted that the last title issued on 7/23/2021 was issued as a salvage title.
Our sales representatives are instructed to ask if your vehicle has a salvage or branded title during the sales call. When asked this question, you stated your vehicle did not have a salvage or branded title.
Because this was not reported during the sales call and American Auto Shield was not informed about the total loss until after the claim was started, there is no coverage available for any failure prior to the branded title surcharge being added on to the contract. The newly added surcharge will only apply to future claims.
The seller you purchased this vehicle from should have disclosed the fact that the vehicle had a branded title for a previous accident/total loss.
You may keep your service contract for future covered repairs, or you may chose to cancel your coverage. We hate to lose you as a customer. However, if you do choose to cancel your coverage, we would be happy to refund you in full as a gesture of goodwill.
Please email us at [email protected] if we can be of any further assistance. Please include your contract number or phone number so we can locate your account.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I gave this company a chance despite their reviews. But, I would like to tell anyone who is considering this vehicle warranty company to run as fast as you can! They act like you can take your vehicle to any repair shop, but you just need to give them a call first before making the repairs. None of our normal reputable repair shops would EVEN work with Car Shield because they said they never want to pay and if they do, they can't get their money out of them. The one we finally found, said they had worked with them several times, but only to find out they normally decline to pay for some reason or another. Our vehicle is a very nice 2014 High Country Chevrolet that still looks and smells like new. We take very good care of our vehicles. But, after about 4 weeks of dealing with Car Shield and my husband having to find alternative ways to work, "their" adjuster rejected the repair bid and said it was a previous problem. And because they took so long, I was out 2 months of monthly charges of $89 each month that they would not reimburse. It was NOT our fault they took so long. I would cancelled way sooner if I had

Right now we are no way happy with CarShield in fact after today's fiasco My wife and myself have canceled all 3 of our Vehicles out. After the freaking shop kept our Ford Explorer XLT 3 Weeks waiting on the diagnosis we were told cause it broke down on the 21st and not the 22nd they denied our claim and now we are stuck with replacing our AC Compressor, Water Pump, as well as all 4 Brake Rotors. We were stuck without a rental, supervisor I spoke with was very rude as well as an straight idiot when it comes to Customer Service. I will no longer hype this scam of a service up. You got 2 payments out of us waiting on the 20 days to which was nothing but waisted money. After paying $140 per month for about 1 year, my car needed repair I took it to 4 different places, Firestone, tire choice, pep boys, and a dealer, all which they claim bring it any mechanic. They all claimed thanks but no thanks to repair my car, listing they had problems with car shield. Then I called them to recommend someone they did I brought it there they charged me 150$ to look at it then after I was told repair needed, they called car shield who denied the claim saying that the abs module was not covered ,in addition the mechanic told me they make excuses about mileage, I canceled them complained and they told me I would continue to be charged every month because of no cancelation clause, well the bank disagreed, without them I would be still paying its a scam steer your vehicle clear of those scammers.

Car shield has had my vehicle sitting in the shop for 30 days waiting for a $1400 Rebuilt transmission that took 3 weeks for them to make a decision so I wasn't able to get a rental.Remind you that I put my car in the shop February 28. It's now March 25 and my mechanic is still waiting for the part to come. Now that $100 deductible has increased because the time frame for the labor is too long for them they say it should only take three hours where my mechanic say five so now I have to pay for the extra two hours labor myself And by my car being in the shop so long my mechanic is charging a $25 a day storage fee that car Shield do not cover .This is tiresome very very sad

Disappointed with Rude Customer Service Last night, I populated the necessary fields on the companies website to get a warranty quote on a used car I recently purchased. I didn't know they would ring my phone off the hook late in the night. I didn't answer and finally had to block the number to stop their aggressiveness. This morning while working, I decided to unblock the number and my phone rang within 5 minutes. I explained that my time was limited and that I would like a quote. I was transferred to another agent. I told the agent upfront that I now only had 5 minutes to talk. She assured me that it wouldn't take that long. I also explained that I would not be making a decision today. 10 minutes later she was closing me "hard" not listening to what I was saying. I finally told her, thank you, but as I already stated, I wasn't making a decision today and I needed to go back to work immediately. I then thanked her again for the information and there was no reply. She hung up without saying a word. I heard about Car Shield on the Glenn Beck radio show. I wonder what he would say if he knew how I was treated by a company that he highly endorses. Needless to say, I WILL NOT buy a warranty from this company. They can kiss my butt!

I have been paying CarShield for over 2 years. I rec'd a safety recall in the mail so I called the Cadillac dealership I have been taking my car to since I purchased it to schedule an appointment. Meanwhile, I asked the service man if they could look at my car because the engine lite is on & I have CarShield. To my surprise the service man said; "we no longer deal w/CarShield." So I called five (5) other Cadillac dealerships in the Metro Phoenix area and NOT one of them works w/CarShield any longer. Every service man I spoke w/said CarShield does whatever they can to get out of paying for NEW parts or paying anything & told awful stories of cars sitting and waiting for days and weeks until CarShield's inspector(s) denies the claim. The dealership said Fidelity Auto Warranty is AWESOME and they're EASY to work with. I'm switching to Fidelity esp. after reading all the nightmares others wrote about CarShield on this website.

This is a lying, scamming the public company who will one day be brought hopefully by the Fed Gov't for lies, fraud and deception. The company is designed to steal that is teh bottom line. They will never pay any claim. You are assigned different "adjusters" and never teh same one. Each time you must explain and explain and re-explain your case-delays and delays. You send pics and they claim they never received. Then when they finally do receive, the y find every single imaginable loop hole to NOT pay any bill. Scam alert. Lies & deception. Remember what I tell you. Designed to get people to pay the small enrollment fee which anyone can afford. then people cancel later realizing the scam but either cannot get refunded or don't bother pursuing because the amount of money is so small. However this small initial money funds their enterprise and massive advertising. Do not fall for it-

Awful! Terrible, do not waste your money!!!!!! The engine light came on my ford pickup, I called them, they said take it in and get it tested, I did, AutoZone said timing chain issues, I told Car Shield they said to park it and get it to a dealer to fix. I did, actually had it towed so nothing else went wrong. Turns out the timing chain cause the engine to fail. They only covered timing chain of $1700 and not the $6000 Engine. I called and fought with them for months and finally went to BBB, they in turn sided with Car Shield, Very upsetting. Car Shield claims they only cover the problem not what the problem causes!!!

Slow process, CarShield is costing me money on a loaner car because they are opting to order a part even though the dealer already has it in hand. They estimate will be 3-5 days shipping without a guarantee on the day the part will arrive. I then agreed to pay for the difference for the dealers part (costing me $300 is cheaper than paying for the rental car for a total of 10+ days plus its too small of a car for my family) carshield now says the dealer needs to wait to insutall the part until after they send an inspector ---ANOTHER 24-48hrs. Im not sure why they didnt request the inspection the first day we called them with the mechanics report?! They have me in a loaner that I have to pay for out of of pocket while they drag their feet. Customer service couldnt care less. The labor to install is 3.5hrs, had it been 4hrs they claim they would pay for the loaner. This was not the warranty I was promised by the salesperson. If I had just bought the warranty via the dealer my car would have been in and out of the shop within 24 hrs. Waste of time and money. Sales talks nicely to you, while customer service is useless and borderline rude. They refused to pass my call onto management when I requested. Poor service and a total waste of my time and money.

Their customer service is SSSOOO rude. I'm a warranty guy. Was picking up my new car on Weds. so on Tues. I called Carshield for Free quote. Sounded good and I was going to pay in full. But as soon as (Jackson) I think his name was, found out I didn't have the car as I was speaking his whole demeanor changed. I even said I'm picking the car up tomorrow and will call you with the VIN number and pay for the contract. He gave me the silent treatment and I assumed he hung up on me but I could hear him breathing. I asked him another question with no response. That's to bad he acted like that. I ended up getting an extended warranty through the dealer.

I only got Carshield because Ice-T gave his word and I TRULY believed but I should have read the complaints. I went through a HORRIBLE experience. So I got a Dodge 2013 Avenger and it CAME WITH A PLASTIC PART THAT NOOOBODY WOULD KNOW ABOUT INSIDE THE ENGINE and it caused my car to overheat. So Carshield sent INSPECTORS to look at my car and decided it's NOT THEIR PROBLEM basically after paying FAITHFULLY every month. THEY ARE A TRUE RIPOFF. DO NOT,I REPEAT DOOOOO NOTTTTT GO WITH THEM. THEY WILL FIND A REASON TO NOT BE RESPONSIBLE TO HELPING YOU IN ANY WAY. NOT EVEN A RENTAL.WOW,SHAME ON YOU CARSHIELD AND ICE-T FOR FALSE ADVERTISING. OHHHH YOU BETTER READ THE FINE PRINT. I don't have Car Shield, but was considering adding it as my vehicle protection. However, I spoke with two sales people (one male and one female) and both were so rude, I hung up on both. They apply extreme high pressure tactics that are offensive. All I said was getting the matter would need to first be discussed w/my husband b/f I purchased, and both became argumentative, refusing to take "wait" as an answer, so I hung up both times. I mean, what about simple communication courtesy. No - if this is how the sales people behave, I definitely don't want the product.

They will tell you how easy it is just call and the "tow truck" arrives takes it to repair facility and all you do is pay your deductible. NOT had vehicle towed which was added onto the bill at dealership, dealership stated rep said to circle towing charge and send in. Guess what it's incomplete! I had to sign???? Also doesn't give details on towing, my goodness it is a tow company contracted with dealership. Doesn't even deserve 1 star! Complete joke, now my engine oil cooler assembly which is kind of like changing head gasket you have to replace antifreeze and heater hose along with oil and upper and lower plenum gaskets. CarShield is an ABSOLUTE JOKE of a company. DO NOT purchase their warranty, it won't cover ANYTHING that needs repair and if your contract says it's covered, they will place so many restrictions on whatever it is they need to, to avoid having to pay for anything. I have had 3 claims that the mechanics in all circumstances are surprised that the warranty company isn't covering it. All the mechanics also stated that when trying to call CarShield, they were hung up on multiple times and it was a bad experience for every single mechanic who tried to work with them. One time, it could be a fluke, second time, maybe it's fishy, but three times in the row? The only 3 times I filed a claim, they were all denied due to situations and times that the repair should have been covered, and it wasn't. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY, find another warranty. Don't make the mistake I did, assuming that they would stick to their word and help you out. IT'S A SCAM.

MARCIA KIRKPATRICK ,

Do not buy a car warranty from Car Shield. They lie and take your money. .They do not back the customer up on claims. Ask me to take my car to the Buick dealership for repair. Let the mechanic know you have a warranty with Car Shield. Buick dealership charged me $300 up front then called Car shield filed a claim. I called Car Shield to spoke to the manager who told me to email my paperwork for a refund. I waited 1 month never received a call from the company. Spoke to customer service representative who unprofessionally denied me to talk to another manager as a follow up to the refund. After threatening to call headquarters she then wanted to transfer me to a supervisor. Also, strangely talking on the phone to the same lady suddenly tell me the claim was denied. All the supervisors do not support you and go with whatever data wrtten without even investigating information other than the motor only which does not cover almost nothing. I challenge all customers who had a bad experience to post complaints. The CEO I was told will not return calls only the managers do business.

They give you a hassle about the… They give you a hassle about the warranty, it took almost two months to get my car fixed, and when they did fix it the put a used transmission in my car which broke down again in 8 months. Lied about the warranty that covered the used transmission, said it’s was covered a year but then said it’s only covered up to 12,000 miles. Now the refused to honor the transmission they put in my car. They lied about the diamond coverage, by saying it covers your car like it’s an brand new car, that’s false also. Because I had an convertible, which I directly asked them would it be covered she said yes. My convertible top button was sticking there refused to replace it saying that’s not covered, either. Please don’t waste your money with this company. Scam artists!! 1/9/2020

I paid for a car warranty contract for 2 years. Just before the last payment, the dealer states I need a new transmission. CarShield doesn't state in their numerous commercials the back and forth process you will have to go through. This starts on 11/25/20, they wanted records of all my oil changes. The dealer sent them twice and I sent them once before they would acknowledge they had received them. I was told the records had to be reviewed before the dealer could proceed. We wait for several days. They finally tell the dealer they can break down the transmission but I have to agree because if they don't find anything wrong with the unit when they send an inspector out, I have to pay the $1300 for labor. The inspector comes out and we wait for the results. I call, you can only talk to customer service, not the adjuster, I am told they are waiting on my records of service. Now, they say there isn't a record of 45,000-mile transmission service. The dealer states it isn't required until 100,000 miles. I call I complain to the office where I am paying. They say if the dealer can send the documentation that it is 100,000 they can move forward because they get their information off the internet. The dealer sends the documentation and they still won't pay. The dealer asked the question, why didn't you say that record was needed before they authorized the break down of the transmission. The dealer was told they never reviewed the records. their mistake, not mine. Therefore, I am out of $4300. It is 12/22/20 and they have ordered the part but who knows when it will arrive since it is the holidays. Don't buy a contract with CarShield. they don't honor their contracts.

This has to be the biggest rip off in history of insurances . You put Car Shield into to your computer and automatically sends you to sales. When you call them you always get the same voice list no matter what number you use. If do find someone to talk to it never seem to be the one your looking for, or has the information you need. Just now I was talking to customer service and while waiting to come up on his computer, I could hear in the background another service contact telling "SOME POOR SOUL" that they hadn't sent in the right information. Meanwhile, My customer service contact ,said that yes they had received the invoice and was waiting for something else, and that he would hand me off to some one in claims. And their it was " THE VOICE LIST". Their rating of 4.2 is all in their "SALES DEPARTMENT". Don't listen to their lies. I found out in my area no one wants to work with this insurance because they have all their unusual demands, such as teardown before submitting a work request. Also they want three or more written work request per item. In my case, I was having trouble getting my car started an discovered that I my battery cable was loose, so stopped off at my mechanic. He replaced the battery cable end. when I tried to start the car it wouldn't turnover. Starter needed to be replaced. Okay, what am I suppose to do? Have towed to three different mechanic's I gave my mechanic, who i.ve known for fifty years the go ahead. There is were my grievance lies. At the end of this review theirs a place to attach the bill to a file which it say's is 5mb. When I try to put a file of 4.8mb , it say's it to big. Another minus for them. How can you give less then one star?

What I like best about this company is the way the encourage you to get their warranty. I cannot honestly say anything else positive other than there are a few good people that works in customer service that couldn't help me. My car has been in shop for 9 days and we cannot get in touch with claims Dept and they will not call back! I am so frustrated I have to pray God gives me peace. I am in awe at the service of this company. Se real times I got customer service and they say, "claims will call you within 24 hrs." But they never did. It is going on 10th day, still dont have car and I owe the repair facility. I will file a claim against CarShield for reimbursement of my payment to them and repair facility.

This company is a total scam. Their warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on. When you call Car Shield and speak to a sales rep., they tell you whatever it takes for you to purchase a contract, then when you actually make a payment and they send you the warranty contact as described as "Gold Coverage" which is only a Power Train warranty that does not cover any electrical, no cables, nothing with the breaking system, no lights or harnesses, only internal non-electrical transmission parts, anything external they won't cover. Guess what...... if your actual transmission fails and you need a new transmission Car Shield does not cover that either. Because their bottom line is far more important than fixing your vehicle. Basically they only cover what is low cost to fix and what us unlikely to break on your vehicle. They have no problem charging you over $100 a month for what they call Gold Coverage which is more like Copper Coverage because when something actually breaks on your vehicle and you take it to your mechanic or dealer, it is like pulling teeth for a mechanic or dealer to get in touch with a Car Shield rep. for an authorization, and there is a 1% chance that they will cover what is actually wrong with the car. Car Shield pay a lot of money for their television commercials and the celebrities they pay to endorse their service so they have to pass that expense onto the consumer while making sure that they get away with actually paying little or in most cases NOTHING towards the repair of any customer's vehicle. If you really think about it and if they were genuinely honest and straight forward with their warranties and they had to pay 50 % of the claims that were presented to them they would go out of business, so they are really worse than the auto insurance companies because even the auto insurance companies will pay on more of their customer's claims than Car Shield. The best extended warranty is through the car dealership because you get to review the contract first before you buy and see what is actually covered, also the dealer's extended warranty companies have different levels of coverage so you won't be throwing your money away like with Car Shield. I had my car at the dealers for two totally different issues and car shield denied both of them, they also don't like when you call them to cancel your contract. Their customer reps., are trained to keep you on the phone and feed you more lies as to why you need to keep paying for their warranty. They also try to charge you a $75 cancellation fee if you cancel and they have to pro-rate you. This company is ridiculously unscrupulous and only care about how money money they can scam out of customers. Even the service dealers don't like working with, because they never respond to requests for authorization and when they can get a hold of an adjuster they deny the claims. This company also has an F on the Better Business Bureau so that tells you that most of their customers are dissatisfied with their service. I had to call all my family, friends, and coworkers and tell them not to use Car Shield because their warranties are basically worthless and they have no problem charging you premium fees for a zero warranty. Remember Car Shield does not care about you or fixing your vehicle, they just want your money for as long as they can scam you.

Don’t waste your money in this scam. I called Car Shield for a quote. The salesman said the plan costs $99 a month with a $100 deductible . I said I couldn’t afford it. He said he could lower it to $89 a month. When I told him no, he said he would lower it to $79 a month with no deductible. I should have known right then it was a scam. However dummy me was sucked into the sales pitch. When I had a problem and needed the shift assembly replaced. They didn’t cover it. The repaid man said he’s had lots of problems with Car Shield not paying for repairs. He said thus part should have been covered. I cancelled my plan and I advise anyone to avoid this company like the plague!!!

I contracted with this company about two months ago. Ito see the contract but it refused to provide the contract after I contracted with them. To this date, I have never seen the contract, only a welcome letter that provides no details on what is covered. Two days I experienced a break down. Although an hour later the car started, it worried me so I took it to my mechanic who tried to initiate a claim. They kept my mechanic on hold for over an hour and they gave me the run-around. My mechanic is a small business, and has no administrative help - he doesn't have the time for this stuff, and neither do I. I told my mechanic that I had cancelled the warranty with Car Shield and to fix the car at my expense. I do not recommend this company.

I bought a car shield extended warrantee. Big mistake. They do NOT fix your car. They use any excuse to not cover ANYTHING. No repair, no rental car, no nothing. They paid NOTHING. This company is the biggest scam I ever encountered. Hundreds of dollars paid to them and nothing coming back, I wish I'd had researched them before I bought a policy from them .90% of the reviews I had read are 1 star ratings . There advertising is packed with lies. and I'd bet the good ratings are made up by employees of the company . ANY company with so many bad ratings and still be in business is a mystery to me. Why doesn't the BBB work to close this rip off Co. down. The100's of bad comments should close there doors. How can this crooked company still be operating.

Doesn’t even deserve one star. Our transmission went out. The car has been in the shop for 8 days. 8 days. A family of six has had no vehicle with two babies 3 and under. Nobody knows their head from their butt here. And everyone gives different information. Everyday they are “reviewing” and “ will call us back”. We have not received one phone call from them. Our claim is still not approved. Nobody cares when you call. Nobody has any sense of urgency when we have called. It’s a long never ending battle. If your job or life depends on your vehicle find another company for your vehicle. Save yourself the hassle.
