OurTime.com is one of the few niche online dating sites tailored for mature adults. OurTime (OT) seeks to help mature daters meet people that share similar life and relationship goals.

OurTime is owned by PeopleMedia, which has been owned by match.com since 2009. Other People Media online dating services include BlackPeopleMeet and SingleParentMeet. It recently merged with SeniorPeopleMeet, another PeopleMedia dating site aimed at senior singles.

There are over a million men and women signed up for the senior dating site OurTime, looking for meaningful connections all across the country. Thanks to search filters such that sort matches by location, sexual orientation, and personal interests, there is likely to be a match for everyone.

Keep reading to learn more about how this dating site works, skip ahead to our pro/con analysis or go straight to customer reviews which — SPOILER ALERT — rate OurTime.com pretty poorly. As of February 2020, we have collected more than 60 user reviews, with an average score of 1.1 out of 5 stars.

OurTime Basics

Who is OurTime's dating platform for?

OurTime focuses its service on singles (gay and straight) ages 50 and up. The company realized that older singles, usually those in their fifties and sixties, are typically looking for a type of relationship that may be characteristically different from what they were once aspiring for in their twenties and thirties.

What is the OurTime signup process like?

Interested parties can sign up for OurTime online or through the company's mobile apps, available on Android and iOS.

Registering for the first time can take less than five minutes.

Account Registration Process

This online dating service requires the following details when you register for an account:

  • Country (U.S. or Canada)
  • Zip code
  • First name
  • Password
  • Birthday
  • Email
  • A person statement up to 200 characters

You also have to choose between the following default options (select only one):

  • Man seeking women
  • Woman seeking men
  • Man seeking men
  • Woman seeking women

Dating Profile and Features

Although you can register for an account and gain access to the dating site pretty quickly, you also have the option to flesh out your OurTime profile with additional details. This can take much longer.

Users can add basic information to their profile with fields to describe themselves, including education, occupation, religion, and physical appearance. Profiles also include several fields for people to answer personality questions, share personal interests, describe what they are looking for in a partner, and offer conversation starters.

You have the option to provide up to three longer-form statements of up to 200 characters each, covering the following topics:

  • In A Nutshell — Describe yourself 'in a nutshell' with a basic greeting for people who visit your profile.
  • The One I Am Looking For — Use your 200 characters to describe what you are looking for in a partner or relationship.
  • I'd Just Like to Add — Share a bit more about what yourself, what makes you unique, and what you want to get out of this dating site.

Profile Photos

While you can't sign in with Facebook authentication or use it to create your account, you can upload photos directly from your Facebook account.

Anyone with an account can view your profile photos. Lots of other dating sites blur out member photos and require a paid subscription to see them. This is not the case with OurTime.

Note: You also have an option to let your photos (and profile) show up on the company's related partner sites by opting in.

How does OurTime work?

Once you have created a free account on OurTime, you can see how the site works.

OT offers a few different ways to connect with other members, but the basic two options are called Matches and Search.

Matches Feature

Once you have completed filled-in your profile preferences, OurTime uses them to suggest daily matches. You can view each person's profile photo and details. If the connection is mutual — the other person also says Yes to your profile — these will appear in your Mutual Matches.

Search Feature

OT also lets users search through its member base, to sort and filter through available singles, based on several different criteria, including age range, religion, currently online members, new members only, and zip code.

There is also a keyword search option, to look for member profiles that mention attributes you are interested in, like hobbies, pets, travel, and more. This section lets you choose a distance radius for your search, ranging from within 25 miles of your zip code to 100 miles.

What can you do for FREE on OurTime?

OurTime users can create a free dating profile and view other member profiles (including photos). They can search for compatible people and view suggested partner matches. They can even send a Flirt.

What they can't do is participate in messaging, live chat, or any other actual interaction with other members without a paid subscription.

Does OurTime have premium paid features?

Yes. Most interaction on the site requires a premium membership, including the following:

  • Reading and sending messages
  • Live chat with members online
  • See who has sent you Likes or Flirts
  • See who has viewed your profile
  • Get read receipts to show that someone has read your message

OurTime In-App Currency — Tokens

In addition to an ongoing subscription, you can get access to upgraded OurTime features by purchasing and redeeming Tokens, the site's in-app currency.

Tokens can be used to pay for optional perks, including the following:

  • MatchMe — Pay 20 tokens to appear in someone's daily matches, to see if they are interested in you (requires adding a photo). This way, you can see if someone is interested in you, without having to make the first move.
  • PromoteMe — Pay 55 tokens to appear at the top of search results for one hour. Promoted profiles get 50 times more views and ten times more messages. This service includes a recap showing how many users viewed your profile during your one-hour session.
  • VirtualGifts — Pay 10–75 tokens to send one of your matches a virtual gift. This is one way to show that you are interested. Virtual gifts are graphics with things like roses, jewelry, flowers, golf clubs (60 tokens), a watch (75), or a teddy bear (20)
  • NotifyMe — Pay 20 tokens to get a notification when a specific member logs into the site during the next 7 days. They also get told that you are waiting and interested. You will get on-site notifications if you are currently online. If you aren't online, you will get email alerts.

If you are interested in accessing these benefits, there are a few different Token packages available to purchase online or in the dating app:

  • $9.99 for 280 tokens
  • $5.99 for 110 tokens
  • $2.99 for 55 tokens

Tokens have a limited shelf life. They have to be used within 180 days of purchase or they will expire. Additionally, any token purchases will automatically renew — either after they expire (180 days), or when your token balance dips under 21. Purchases are non-refundable.

Whether you’re looking for a friend, a spouse, pen pals, or something in between, this site helps make the most of "your time" to form those relationships, as long as you pay for a subscription.

The Good

  • Free Basic Membership
  • Niche Site for Mature Singles
  • Simple Customizable Features
  • High Site Traffic and Membership
  • Safety and Dating Tips
  • Mobile App

Basic Free Membership

One perk of OurTime is that there is a free membership option for online and mobile app users. If you are mildly interested in the dating site, you can see who the other users are that you are matching with before committing to pay and interact any further on the site. With the basic OurTime account membership, you can view potential match profiles and express interest, in a limited way. If members want to do anything more than spectate and have limited interaction, they'll have to upgrade to a paid membership.

Features for an upgraded membership includes a greater capacity for daily matches, messaging, profile customization and an overall more comprehensive experience. Cost varies depending on the length of your membership subscription.

However, there is a Reply For Free option, where a paid user can contact a free user and pay for them to be able to read and reply.

Niche Site for Mature Singles

The most obvious advantage of using OurTime.com is its targeted customer base. Members in their fifties (or older) may have found a catch-all style dating site to be frustrating because it's full of people of all ages.

OurTime specifically caters to a more mature online dating pool, making it easier for singles ages 50 and above to sort through the weeds and find more of what they're looking for. Because of this, you can spend less time narrowing searches or double-checking an online friend's age or life experiences and instead spend that time getting to know your matches and making connections on OurTime.

Simple Customizable Features

OurTime makes the online space of senior dating easy to navigate, create a profile, and start meeting other singles quickly. It does this through customizable matches, due to a personality compatibility test, as well as through a customizable profile that helps to showcase your unique personality.

You will have the opportunity to take a comprehensive personality test. This test will be used to help you gain daily matches as OurTime searches for similar compatibility factors between you and a potential match.

In addition, members are able to totally customize their account profiles. From your profile picture to the profile background design, you can express your personality right off the bat with the paid membership.

High Site Traffic and Membership

If customers are interested in OurTime.com, there's more good news. With barely four years of business, the site already boasts over one million users, with thousands of users joining each week. That means a million singles in a similar age range are available to connect. It also means your chances are better to find a match.

Safety and Dating Tips

To its credit, OurTime.com also provides safety tips. Of course, in the world of online dating and friending, safety is the most important thing. OurTime gives constructive, specific suggestions for keeping private information private, learning the red flags of someone who could be dangerous, and much more. OurTime doesn't just want members' business; it's concerned about customer safety and understands that a majority of its users may not be aware of online dating best practices.

OurTime.com gives dating advice for both online and offline meets. The company encourages members to block a suspicious person or report fraudulent user profiles and accounts. OurTime.com also has a list of phone numbers at the bottom of the Safe Dating Page that refers members to call if they need help, support, advice pertaining to physical or sexual assault.

On top of all of that, Ourtime is very explicit about its members' financial safety. When you sign up on this dating site, you have to first read and accept the following warning:

"To protect myself, I promise never to send money or share financial information with other OurTime.com users. In addition, I pledge to report anyone who asks me for money or my financial information."

Mobile App

The OurTime community has an app for both iOS and Android devices. The completely redesigned app now makes it even easier to reach singles over 50 in any area. The OurTime app makes the online dating world easy to navigate. It also makes it easier to add a profile picture, include more photos, and it offers more ways for members to tell others about their life experiences and stories. The app also lets mature daters discover profiles of men or women and customize their search for more personalized matches. Users will also get daily matches of other singles that meet their criteria.

The Bad

  • OurTime Reviews
  • Messaging Requires Payment
  • Poor Customer Support
  • User Experience
  • No Member Screening

OurTime Reviews

The majority of OurTime dating site reviews indicate that daters are not happy with the dating site. This fact is crucial for any potential customer to know. It's also important to know not just that OurTime is poorly reviewed, but why it is.

report_problem

Attention: OurTime has received some common complaints.

A number of reviews stated that the site is full of fake profiles and scammers and report that there is little interaction between people. Although the amount of users continues to increase, it seems that scammers and fake users continue to make new profiles, an issue common on many dating sites.

Here are some commonly repeated words and phrases from customers:

Messaging Requires Payment

If you want to send an actual written message to anyone on OurTime, or read a message that you have received, you have to pay for an upgraded membership. It's not cheap.

Poor Customer Support

The customer service at OurTime.com could use some improvement to ensure great customer satisfaction. Sure, the FAQs list is helpful enough for people who need basic questions answered. However, should a question extend beyond the realm of the FAQs, members have limited options.

The one contacting tool the site provides is a Customer Care form, where you can submit an email address and your question. Upon submission, OurTime.com will send an automatic reply with more automated answers based on the category selected. Then, if the question still hasn't been answered, the dating service instructs members to reply to their email with the question. The company claims to respond to most emails within 48 hours. Also, that's only "most."

Additionally, finding a customer service hotline through the website requires jumping through multiple hoops. However, mobile users are presented with the phone information with the simple touch of the Contact Us button. Phone-based customer support is available weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Central) at 833-223-8873.

With such dismal customer service, OurTime sure makes it extremely hard to find necessary information and get immediate, helpful feedback. The limited access to live support makes it difficult to resolve issues. No matter how detailed a website is, every business should provide a means to contact a representative right away. In the online world, immediate help isn't just convenient; it's crucial and OurTime fails to deliver.

User Experience

The layout and navigation on OurTime.com seem really outdated. The site can also be confusing to navigate, especially when you are looking for answers to questions.

However, compared to the online dating website, the OurTime mobile apps have been revamped. They offer a better looking, simpler format.

No Member Screening

OurTime does not screen member profiles for accuracy, nor does the online dating site complete background checks ever. If members find that another user is sharing content that is illegal, harmful, or threatening, they can report that user. After having reported a user, OurTime will review and possibly delete the content.

OurTime lacks a few desired safety features as well as provides a relaxed verification process for its users, creating an issue of dishonest or unsecure users to join. While other sites offer several ways to verify an account through social media or manual photo verification, OurTime does not.

Check out user reviews to read more about OurTime user's experiences with this popular online dating site.

The Bottom Line

At the heart of it, OurTime.com may need time to work out the kinks. Its reputation receives varying degrees of positive and negative reviews due to issues of pricing, safety, and customer support resources.

The OurTime dating service could start by doing more extensive background screenings to ensure its members' safety, but it is appreciated that the company provides help-line phone numbers if a profile seems suspicious.

However, initial membership is free and the fact that this entire dating site is devoted to connecting one specific demographic, singles in their fifties and beyond looking to meet and build meaningful relationships. It might not hurt to create a free profile, but we suggest potential customers check out the OurTime reviews below as well as look at other top-rated Online Dating Companies before signing up for a paid membership.

Cannot verify my phone number therefore locked out of my account. They do not seem to care. Asked for refund due to not accessing my account. No answer. However they can send possible matches to my email. Been in it 4 months now…..no one local texts back. I met a man on facebook, he said he has same issue. We are both in the New Orleans area, DO NOT JOIN. No members locally, absolutely on customer service. Worst dating site ever!!!!

This app is a bother, constantly needing a code sent to sign in. Today I requested the code several times, nothing sent. I don't care for the way editing your profile is done either, more often than not the entire thing erases and you must start all over. I don't receive many profiles of men close to my area, so I tried entering other zip codes, which is allowed, but then men become confused thinking they met a scammer. I'm not scamming anyone. The app can only work with the members it has but I wish it was at least easier to log in to without always having that second layer of code input. This app provides no phone customer service. I've seen several profiles with photos edited. Men use old photos. No thanks, I don't want to see a 66 year old man try to pass off his 35 year old photo as who he is now.

Can't recommend this site. I signed up for one month and immediately started having issues where it said it couldn't verify my phone number. Got in touch with customer support and they had me jumping through all the hoops and they still could not fix my issue. I requested a refund and they refused. What it burns down too is they are crooks stealing my money and nothing I can do except try the bank and show them the emails. OurTime is cheating some folks and taking their money.

I helped my 74 year old grandfather who is a widower and looking for a companion get set up on his site. I took pics for him, filled out the profile and questions with him, got him a login, verified the account with him, and showed him how it worked. All pics were blurred out and you have to pay to see who liked your profile. I paid almost $80 for a 3 month subscription so he could use these features. Again, showed him how to use it and let him loose. Within 5 minutes of him using the app while next to me, his account was logged out and blocked. I contacted customer support- no phone number is available. The response I received via email was that there was a violation in the pages long terms and use agreement. Nowhere in there do I see where he would have violated this agreement within 5 minutes of use. I asked for a reason and the response was they cannot provide more information on what was violated, even in regards to your own account. I met my husband on a dating site and it took a lot to get my grandpa to put himself out here, so it's so disappointing that this was his first experience. This site and app preys on the vulnerable elderly population and is a scam.

The "two" rating is generous, because I'm feeling exceptionally disappointed and discouraged as of this moment. As a new member, the jury is still out. I tried the free membership for a while and had so many "winks" that it motivated me to join and to see what I was missing. Had four winks from an attractive guy...more on that below. My personal phone contacts with customer service have been positive in the sense that they've been courteous and try to answer my questions. However, they absolutely will not give out any "personal" information on other members, which is totally understandable, but the other day I simply wanted to know if someone was a current or active member. I didn't want to waste my time or money trying to message someone who wasn't there. E-Mail communications have been frustrating, since they always "echo back" a standard answer based on a key word search which has absolutely nothing to do with answering a carefully crafted specific question of the member. So I've generally retyped the message in an E-Mail and, with luck, received a courteous but limited response within five or six days...if ever. I'm probably one of the few who has taken a leap of faith in the autumn of my life with a first-time paid membership for a dating service, no expectations or assumptions except for desiring to find a true friendship with a genuine significant other which might evolve into something more permanent. Was motivated to pay for a membership since had received four winks from someone, discovered a wonderful profile, handsome man with nice smile, kind eyes, lots in common...almost too good to be true. Got up the nerve to send him a wink or two, then a couple messages. After six or seven weeks, there's been no response...has not opened the messages...finally realized he's probably a free member and can't do a thing about it. I merely want this wonderful prospect to be able to receive my messages but would need to pay extra...along with no guarantee that he would see the message or that he even exists to begin with. There needs to be a process whereby OurTime could forward the message to someone's E-Mail (since we have no contact information, and that's understandable for privacy reasons). Well, I've not given up yet. But for those of us who are truly sincere about finding love or something akin to love, it's difficult to deal with the same ugly profiles, then see the occasional rare prospect that it seems impossible to connect with. Wish there were a way to know whether someone is a current member and specifically the last time they were online. The whole idea of OurTime should be to bring good matches together...not keep them apart. Time will tell. Thanks for listening.

Terrible terrible customer service. I bought a week membership. Used it for two days. And then when I would try to log in it wanted me to verify my account with my phone number. And when I enter my phone number it says contact customer service my phone number can’t be verified. I keep emailing and emailing. And the only response I get back is we have escalated your problem. Wasted money!!! DO NOT JOIN!!!! Lots of fake profiles to get you to join also.

One star is too much for this dating website. Considering it is to be for older folks - anyone over 65 gets dumped into a pool of 65 - 99. It is rare there are matched anywhere near the age range you are looking for, never mind the distance you are considering. In addition to that, many to most of the matches were non- subscribers of either the just fishing kind or they were no longer members so you could not converse with them. At one point 17 out of 17 matches were non subscribers, way too old and lived too far away . I rate this site 0/10. The gave me a partial refund when I complained… therefore 1 star for customer satisfaction.

On OurTime, common sense flies out the window. So don’t assume that only one profile per user is allowed. Nope, you can have multiple profiles albeit with the different email addresses. Perfectly legal and confirmed with the Customer Service. And if this isn’t enough, some multiple users share the same user ID. I have a habit of bookmarking profiles and then looking them up later and make a choice. Nope, not possible with OurTime. I bookmark one, then try to bookmark another, and boom two supposedly different users have the same user ID. I personally don’t think that the numbers are recycled. More likely some if not all of them are FAKE in my humble opinion. Apparently OurTime being hungry for more members, are plain creating new ones out of thin air, that’s what I’m thinking. I took a few screenshots of what I’ve found but am not sure how to post them there. (no photos for privacy) Of course scammers and/or liars are abundant. This is not unique for the OurTime, but you have to be vigilant and research your contact by the phone number. If it’s a voip number (created on an app), stay away. If not, you still can research their identity by the phone number. It takes time but is well worth it. And it can be done free. I researched one member who contacted me, and found out that he lied about his age, and no telling about what else. I didn’t pay a penny for this.

I have used OurTime on several occasions over the past 8 years or so. As of 12 Apr 2023, OurTime changed their platform which was not as customer friendly as expected. As I was logging in on 14 Apr 2023, OurTime asked to verify my phone number, which I entered. OurTime inidicated they could not verify the number and I have NOT had access to an account I have paid for since then! I have contacted customer service via email and phone each day since and they cannot seem to get any results. I'm glad I only purchase a 30 day subscription as now I have lost the ability to use the site for a third of the contract period! I would recommend this site to anyone EVER!

TOTAL SCAM! Once you make an account you CANNOT DELETE it!!! Customer service is from a country outside of the USA! The customer service agent I did finally reach wrote in total broken English and wished me a MERRY CHRISTMAS 5 days after the holiday that could be offensive to so many! Tried to do everything they could NOT to delete my account. DO NOT USE this site- you will regret it!!! It’s NOT safe and there are so many scammers in there. To make changes you have to go through a site called Black people meet? Total waste of money to begin with and they tried to scam me out of more.

SCAM! We wasted hours trying to help mom to setup an account. She is 80. Our father passed away a year and a half ago and she was finally ready to find a new friend and have some kind of relationship. We should have looked for reviews before trying this site and app! Now, we know better! We setup a profile using a PC and then tried to help Mom with the app on her iphone (it is her only piece of technology). Their app kept giving us error after error. We called and spoke with customer service, who was not able to fix it and "had to escalate". So we get an email 2 days later that "our account is terminated in the interest of our community". What a load of BS. LOL! Wow! So then we look for REVIEWS - ALL after 2019 are TERRIBLE. 1-2 stars! Here and consumeraffairs. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

They ping my phone all hours of the day and night, sending me a sign on code, when I am not requesting it. More than 50% of the profiles are not real. I paid for a 3 month subscription which was to end Sept 19. In June still, I told them to take me off of Auto renewal, and remove my credit card information. Today, July 30, without permission they removed 15.99. My status clearly shows that I removed auto renewal. And my credit card info was supposed to be also removed. Can not reach a person, sent about 6 messages stating that it is fraud and they stole my money. NO WAY TO RECTIFY. I called my bank and reported them. The only way to make them go away is to CHANGE MY ENTIRE ACCOUNT. The people that are on this site, that are real............are also afraid to talk to people, because they can tell that most of the people are fake accounts. Others, are quite scary. I want to know why they are messing with my account and sending me "sign on" codes (a measure of their security that they send to your cell phone) all hours of the day and night...........when I am clearly NOT TRYING TO SIGN ON. I asked through their very shrouded / inefficient customer service messaging system, and I received NO ANSWER. AND IT CONTINUES DAY AND NIGHT FOR 2 MONTHS NOW. I have to turn my phone off to get a decent nights sleep. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS COMPANY!!!!!

I have written to 133 women on OurTime, I’ve received 4 responses. My thinking is that once you join OT your profile is permanently displayed even if you quit cancel or get married. So I’m saying that 129 of my text messages went to nonexistent people. To me this is a blatant scam eluding to bilking their customers out of funds or if you will bait and switch. This practice needs to stop and I mean today OurTime is misleading the public and their customers. Either post when was the last time they were online or some form of active account notice.

I signed up as a paying customer. No luck yet. There's hardly anyone in my geographic area ( south eastern Ontario, Canada). Most of the profiles are from women in the north eastern US. With the current hassle of crossing the border because of COVID, I have no intention of going to the US to meet someone for a coffee. Pre Covid, maybe. Also, there are a lot of profiles with photos of young woman in their 20's, stating that they're in their 50's. Really? Only a fool would believe that a woman in her 50's could look that young, even with cosmetic surgery. Obviously fake profiles. this site is full of them. So far, I'm not impressed.

If I could give OurTime zero stars I would. I subscribed for one month and decided to cancel. I as well, wondered if some of the profiles were fake. Most are just plain weird and give “creepy old men” a whole new meaning! The biggest problem I have with the site/app is they don’t make removing your profile and canceling your membership easy or intuitive. In fact, when I contacted customer service to do this for me, they just provided me with an automated email containing incorrect directions. I think they purposefully make it difficult so that it deters users from canceling. What gets me even more upset is that their market is seniors and most of us aren’t that technically savvy. Talk about taking advantage of those you claim to want to help! I’m surprised no one has started a class action suit yet. Someone definitely should.

If there was a rating below one star, I would use it for the OurTime.com site. For several days I have tried to delete my account with no success. Account Settings, which one must use to delete an account, has been constantly "unavailable", as the message says. When I emailed their Customer Care team, explaining the issue, they merely send a reply stating the instructions to use Account Settings to delete the account. Subsequent emails received no reply. The phone number provided online does not got through. In fact, one number went to an entirely different company. OurTime.com is by far the worst site that I have ever had the displeasure of trying. User beware!!!!

This is absolutely a horrid site. My account has been hacked and when I tried to respond to one or two of the people that received fake emails from me, they said this seems to be a problem on Our Time. Also, the page for my account is terribly confusing...lots of junk that's redundant. "Inboxes" in three different places and none of the numbers match. Also, you can't tell when a message you receive is a new message or an old one. I have been on a couple of other sites and never had this kind of problem before. I would love to see it get shut down. (One of the emails I found that was supposedly sent by me, was in French. Go figure.) I have asked their customer service to shut down my account and refund me the last month of charges, but I haven't heard back from them as yet.

I am afraid I have been scammed on OurTime.com. I was contacted by a woman in who was very attractive, but had poor grammar and typing skills. Her replies were always immediate, which is unusual. She had taken down her profile and wanted to communicate by personal email and wanted me to do the same. She also indicated that she would be willing to relocate. Highly unusual to say after a few emails. Keep in mind that I live in Kentucky, an 81/2 hour drive. Because of all of the red flags I asked her to send me her phone number or zip code. That information was not provided, but she did send a photo of her passport to prove she was real and asked for my phone number with a promise that she would call the following day. At the time of this writing it is early in the morning, so it remains to be seen if I will receive a phone call Out of curiosity I went to my profile settings>suspend account. The site had a pop up that said they were having problems and I could not access my account settings/ check back later. An hour or so later I was unable to log in. I tried to change my password but the system did not recognize my email. This all happened on a Friday evening after the customer service department had closed and they do not operate on the weekend. Our Time is a very large company and should have customer service open 7 days a week with American representatives that can understand English.

I believe the site is all about making money. I first noticed the problem when I paid for a continuing subscription. The notices I'd received before paying: photos of women, and other announcements, weren't there once I paid. I'd select someone I wanted to meet from recent notices, login, and couldn't find the people. That seemed odd, and so I emailed the company about the glitches in their program. I have not heard back. I still have two paid months (I canceled my subscription, ultimately), but a conversation I'd started, as a paying customer, disappeared. Chris still drops by, according to my log, but I can no longer access our emails. I tried reaching her and figured she'd just changed her mind. But even flirting with others isn't working. The site's littered with unique and telling flaws. It's a scam. I could try contacting multiple women to see if things are working, but I think I will pass. Don't waste your time or money. It feels real, but it's not. Or, that's my take. It's Ourtime to be scammed, as best I can figure.

Consumer BEWARE!!!😲😲😲 My financially successful friend joined Our Time without reading the reviews. I joined, based on her recommendation, & paid about $130 for 6 month. This business should be closed down. The owners are laughing all the way to the bank, since there is no way to talk to a customer service rep about problems or about the numerous scammers on the site. Both my friend & I are receiving the same types of contacts, to meet a user's best friend who is a widower who lives in our area but not an OurTime customer - asking for our email addresses on first contact. Never hear from them again if we fail to divulge our email. My friend & I received the exact same message from one scammer. The others followed the same format. I could go on & on but I won't because you can read about 800 reviews that say the same thing. Individually, we might say "Maybe I'n not attractive enough" or "Maybe my profile is not good enough." Until you read all the reviews. Too many people having the same experience to state it is just one disgruntled customers experience. Does this sound like one more case of elderly fraud???

Like others, I should have read reviews prior to prepaying a 6-mo subscription. I signed up Jan 2019 and immediately continued to get locked out of my account with no email notification from Our Time. About a month into it, and being asked to reset my password again (I believe I had already set it up 4 times by this point), I reached out to their customer service. They acknowledged they were locking me out and provided a few possibilities, none of which applied to my usage. This is likely an authentication issue on their end they need to fix. They finally closed my account but refused to refund me as they said I still had access to their email. When they send daily emails with notifications, you can get to their email through a link in those daily emails...it only works once a day and you cannot access other areas in their site without logging in. SO being constantly locked out prevented me from updating my profile or other activities along with just limited email access. They didn't help and didn't refund me. I'll gladly absorb the $107 in exchange for being able to post my complaint to assist others from avoiding this same issue.

Joined end of 03/16 as a free customer but soon paid like $24 upgrade so I could see my messages. So I would mostly go on to see what was available and if this was the place for me. I hadn't even put a photo up yet and I listed my status as "legally separated," which it is. The site appeared either to send out flirts on my behalf or in the simple process of navigating on the screen I accidentally hit the "send-out-multiple-flirts-to-strange-men" button....needless to say I was mortified when I viewed the "flirts sent" option.....I just quit on 04/20/16, not totally because of these issues, but because of one guy who contacted me who when I said I wasn't really interested, he acted pissy and said he didn't date married women, so I could "move on." I clearly had "legally separated" as my status, which they, the site, allows...I hadn't conversed with this guy at all after that and had no intention to anyway.....and then the jerkwad blocks me.....I quit at that point....in case I would find more of same.....plus quality of men is somewhat dismal...

OurTime is full of fake profiles and scammers, not to mention the lousy customer service that other (former) members of OurTime have complained about elsewhere. Besides all the OurTime profiles that are obviously fakes by scammers in nigeria, it also appears that Ourtime is creating its own fake profiles in order to inflate its membership numbers. Searching through the female profiles you will start noticing the same lines of text from profile to profile. "Keyword" search a catchy-looking phrase of one such text, like "Anything active or outdoors, I'm in!" for any metro area in the US you can think of, and your search results will be hundreds of female profiles with that identical text pasted in. Project that across the entire USA and it's easy to see that OurTime has tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of such fake female profiles. Reminds you of the recent news story about the dating site Ashley Madison being hacked. Ashley Madison claimed it had 1.5 million female members who wanted to have affairs with married men. After the hack an independent third party searched through the site and determined that Ashley Madison actually had only about 9,000 individual female members, not the 1.5 million they claimed. Former Ashley Madison employees came forward stating they had been directed by their supervisors to create as many as 1,000 fake profiles on Ashley Madison. OurTime, and its sister site LoveAndSeek, seem to be in that same boat with Ashley Madison. So if you just joined OurTime or LoveAndSeek, and you've messaged a bunch of 'women' you found on those sites, but almost none of them have replied, it may be because all those female profiles you messaged are fakes.

1. OurTime.com is full of expired accounts that are still on the site although the people are not able to respond to any messages due to the fact that their accounts has been expired. When I was a member I had the impression that more than half of the accounts are expired. Now that my account has expired I cannot remove my account. There is no place at the OurTime.com website for me to delete my account by myself and in spite of my three messages sent to customer service asking them to do that my account is still there and I never got any response from customer service. They refuse to remove my defunct account and keep sending messages from other members supposedly trying to contact me so that I pay and renew my account to see these messages. 2. When you subscribe to this website you will find out that after paying a large fee of about $90 for six months membership you will be constantly asked at the website to pay more to access certain features such as for example being able to see if a message that you sent to someone has been read or not. IN MY OPINION OURTIME.COM IS A DISHONEST WEBSITE THAT KEEPS A LOT OF DEFUNCT ACCOUNTS TO MAKE THE IMPRESSION THAT THEY HAVE A LOT OF MEMBERS, WHILE MOST OF THESE FAKE MEMBERS DON'T ACTUALLY WANT TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE WEBSITE AFTER A SHORT TERM OR BEING ACTUAL MEMBERS AND LEARNING ABOUT THEIR LACK OF INTEGRITY.

This site is horrible. Getting answers from customer services via e-mail is pathetic. I wanted to go into my account to cancel my subscription and was met with “we’re sorry, we can’t’ access your account at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience. “ What a rip off. Don’t try calling the 800 number. No one answers, even after 30 minutes on hold. Avoid this site.

The absolute worse customer service. They could not/refused to resolve a simple password issue. I supposedly have hundreds of matches, that even after I upgraded I was able to contact a couple of men before all the password issues began. You are pushed to download their app. This is the biggest romance scam site. I would mot recommend this site to my worst enemy. I would like to have my pictures removed and my 1 payment refunded. A site like this should be illegal.

This site is total garbage and I wasted a 6 month subscription. I would give it a zero if I could. My profile is hacked weekly and the hackers shotgun the country with messages with my profile. I get flooded with worthless messages responding to someone else's message hacks. Customer support is pitiful. I have changed passwords multiple times. Still have others using and changing my profile. OurTime is a total waste of money and time. Many other complaints but too many to list. They need to get some cyber security. Stay away from this site. No refund and unusable.

If I could read it with zero stars I would! This company is a total scam. I found it through my Facebook. It was advertised as a Christian dating site with a different name and once I signed up for and paid I was purchasing Ourtime.com!! I’m not happy at all. I am a paying customer with them as I paid for three months this morning. I want my money back! It’s false advertisement. They advertised one dating site and then directed me to the purchase for this one. And just to add… After skimming through several profiles I did not find one Christian man!

I am not a member of this site but someone is using my photos on their site. A friend of mine saw my photos and let me know immediately that he was an impostor. I have emailed the Customer Service several times with snapshots of my photos and this persons profile. They have done nothing to assist me at all in removing my photos. They clearly are not concerned about my privacy and the scammer on this site.

The rating I would give OurTime is negative 10 ! The technical support staff is ineffective and inefficient. After no less than 5 attempts to gain access to my paid account and 5 interactions with customer service and technical support I cancelled my account due to the poor service. Also the lack of appropriate people was not satisfactory they do little or don’t at all vet the verosity of the people on their site. Over all I found the site severely lacking .

Actual customer service and support is the worst! !!!!!!!!!!! Smart Phone APP.This company would be better off ran by a 10yr.old. All there endless paragraphs to solve problems are completely ridiculous. It's a complete waste of time. I could go on and on about how BAD there APP. format is but I don't really want to waste my time. Please sell this company to someone who can run it in the proper way! !!!!! Another Pissed Off use.

My account was hacked and Messages were sent to members. I learned this from a member who contacted me about a message he received. Our time sent me an email and immediately terminated my account. I sent several messages telling them my account was hacked and received no response. Very poor customer service!

Overall poor experience. Same matches are shown over and over on a loop, there seems to be no "matching" based on profiles more like random people. Lots of fake profiles and people looking for hookups. Non-existant customer service.

I don't know if our time is just incompetent or if ripping of customers is part of its business model. After I unsubscribed someone scammed my account and our time renewed my subscription without my permission. I contacted customer service and they couldn't have been less helpful.

No customer service.. no direction/instructions. When you hit delete, the one you want deleted doesn’t go away. No opportunity for distancing request (100 mile radius). Keep adding to “new” messages instead of just current listing. No place for ethnicity request.
