The Good

  • Variety of Air Purifiers
  • Affordable
  • Filter Types
  • Fast Delivery
  • 30-Day Returns

Variety of Air Purifiers

Honeywell offers a wide range of air purifiers. This is something unique in the industry as most companies offer only one, two, or three different units. That being said, the perfect air purifier will vary depending on the consumer’s needs and wants. To accommodate this, Honeywell offers a fairly extensive search filter. Buyers can use the search filters to narrow their options by price, availability, color, size, filter type, extra features, and cleaning levels.

Affordable

Honeywell offers some of the most affordable air purifiers. Though they might not be as modern looking or technology-laden as some of their competitors, they get the job done.

The company has several units under $150, with the HEPA filter, activated carbon pre-filters, and up to four cleaning levels. Consumers can expect to pay anywhere from $140 to $800 on Honeywell’s website. Many of Honeywell’s competitors only offer purifiers for $350+.

Additionally, Honeywell has a daily deals section, where buyers can find current sales, coupon deals, and bulk pricing.

Filter Types

Several Honeywell units come with a True HEPA Filter. The HEPA filter is extremely efficient at capturing airborne pollutants such as dust, pollen, pet dander, mold, spores, tobacco, and even things like cooking and fireplace smoke particles.

However, Honeywell does offer several units that come with permanent washable filters. These filters are ENERGY STAR certified and can easily be cleaned (plus they should never need to be replaced).

Fast Delivery

Honeywell boasts that most items are picked, packed, and shipped on the same day they’re ordered. Keep in mind that there are a few things that will determine when a product is shipped, such as the following:

  • Orders are shipped weekdays and the cutoff time for all orders is 3:00 p.m. (CST)
  • Delivery transit time (not including weekends) starts once Honeywell has a filled order and the carrier has picked up the package.

It’s also important to know that Honeywell charges an insurance fee for orders over $250 (U.S. dollars) and all orders that are over $300 will be shipped via FedEx.

30-Day Returns

Honeywell strives to provide its customers with the best products and customer service. Each of the company’s products undergoes testing to ensure that it passes all of Honeywell’s rigorous standards. However, if a customer is dissatisfied with their purchase, Honeywell offers a 30-day hassle-free return window. Consumers simply contact the company (within 30 days of receiving their product) and ask for a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number.

The Bad

  • Warranty Information
  • Return Conditions and Fees
  • International Shipping

Warranty Information

When it comes to Honeywell’s air purifiers, consumers will have to click on each product to determine its specific warranty. Most of the purifiers have a five-year limited warranty, but this is not the case for all products.

Return Conditions and Fees

If consumers are unhappy with their Honeywell unit for any reason, they have 30-days to return the product. However, Honeywell’s return process has a few stipulations that consumers should be aware of, including the following:

  • Consumers must contact Honeywell within 30 days (from the date the product was received) for an RMA (return merchandise authorization) number.
  • Shipping charges are NOT refunded. This includes the original shipping charge and the return shipping fee.
  • Any packages that are returned without an RMA number will be refused.
  • All returns are subject to a 10% to 30% restocking fee, unless they were damaged in transit or are defective.
  • Clearance items are final sale and cannot be returned.
  • If a product was damaged during transit, consumers will need to inform the company of the damage within 24 hours.
  • If a package is missing, consumers must notify Honeywell within 24 hours to ensure proper handling of the claim. The company isn’t responsible for missing items not reported after the 24 hour allotted time.

International Shipping

Currently, Honeywell only ships to residents within the United States. There is no mention on the website as to whether or not the company plans to offer its products to international consumers.

The Bottom Line

Honeywell is a common household brand that has been around for years. The company produces a number of products, including air purifiers. When compared to other companies, we found that Honeywell offers some of the most affordable purifiers.

Although the products don’t have the most innovative technology and look a bit dated, they are reliable and produce the same results as other (more expensive) brands. Just be sure to check your unit's warranty to ensure that you’re covered in case anything happens.
