Being part of Tutor Corp has been an incredible experience because working one-on-one with my students and watching them grow has been especially meaningful to me. Over time, I saw noticeable improvements in their self-confidence, understanding of material, and overall engagement in learning. I had the opportunity to tutor two students—one in 4th grade and one in 6th—and was proud to see them stay ahead in their classes thanks to the personalized support we provided. What motivated me to volunteer at LTB was the chance to inspire a love of learning and offer focused help to under-resourced students. The platform itself is well-organized, easy to use, and provides great resources for tutors to support their students effectively. I truly enjoyed my time at LTB and felt proud watching my students progress and succeed.

I started tutoring with Learn to Be in 2022, originally to earn volunteer hours, but it quickly became something I was passionate about. Helping students work through challenges and watching them grow more confident over time has been so rewarding. One of my favorite memories was when a student surprised me with a drawing of me—it was such a meaningful reminder of the bond we had built. This experience has shown me how powerful knowledge can be. Sharing what I know, while also learning from my students, has made me realize there’s nothing more impactful than growing together. Learn to Be has truly changed my high school experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to make a real difference through education and connection.

For the past year and a half, I have been a tutor with Learn To Be. At first, I was simply looking for a place to volunteer and help disadvantaged and underprivileged children since that is my passion. What I found at this organization is so much more. Not only have I had the privilege of educating young children in dire need, many of whom have no other alternatives, I have also been able to help them in other ways, such as providing free technology devices to families in partnership with Learn To Be and offering them career exploration opportunities with presenters with backgrounds in law, technology, education, and science and from organizations such as NASA and Meta. This has been an exceptionally fulfilling journey I have been on, working together with like-minded individuals who selflessly give their time and knowledge. As an organization that staunchly believes in free tutoring for the segments of our population most underserved, I have firsthand knowledge of their efforts to deliver while operating on a shoestring budget. My time here has felt as if I became part of a newfound family who truly epitomizes the proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I have been blessed to have met over fifty families, many stating exceptional feedback from teachers as to the marked improvement of students, and some who no longer need tutoring because they are now above grade level in proficiency. While certain challenges and improvements can be made with any organization, the core mission and genuine desire to help exist within everyone I have come in contact with at this organization.

Volunteering as a tutor with Learn To Be has been a rewarding and meaningful experience for me. The platform provides a great opportunity to connect with younger students and support them in subjects they may be struggling with. It's incredibly fulfilling to watch a student gain confidence and improve academically over time, especially knowing that your guidance played a part in their growth. One of the best aspects of Learn To Be is the flexibility and accessibility it offers both tutors and students. You're able to build a personal connection with your student and tailor your teaching style to what works best for them. It's a great way to give back while also strengthening your own communication and leadership skills. That said, one of the challenges can be consistency. Sometimes, it’s hard to schedule regular sessions if a student’s parent or guardian isn't very responsive. This can make it difficult to maintain progress or develop a steady routine. But when communication flows well, the impact you can have is truly significant. Overall, I highly recommend Learn To Be to anyone passionate about education and mentorship.

Being a tutor from Learn to Be, I highly recommend this organization to many families. I’ve encountered many students who improved greatly with tutoring. Seeing an improvement definitely boosts a student’s confidence, encouraging them to look at problems they don’t understand in a more positive way. Also, I recommend those who have some time to join as a tutor to help many more students. As a tutor, you can learn many valuable skills and expand on your own knowledge.

As a LearnToBe tutor, I am extremely grateful to have found the program and be involved in tutoring. As a student in high school, LearnToBe granted students like me an opportunity to tutor younger students in subjects they may be struggling in. I have been able to connect with my students and help them succeed in classes, while gaining hands on experience which can better prepare me in the future.

Learntobe is an organization that has allowed me to dedicate time to one of my biggest goals in the comfort of my very own home, and for that I shall remain forever grateful. By allowing me to help kids in various subject areas, they have allowed me to push forward and make education more accessible one session at a time.

Took the time to know my child. When she didn't understand something the tutor explained it in a way that she could. First assignment after her tutoring session she got 100%!!!
