LAST UPDATED: October 26th, 2024

Sling TV won the CES 2015 awards for the "Best Home Theater Product" and the "Best Software/App." It has also been rated the "Best in Show" by Engadget for its pricing, easy-to-navigate interface, and the fact that it could be the beginning of the end for traditional pay television in the United States.

The Good

  • Innovative services
  • Add-ons for customizable package
  • Parental controls

New Innovative Product

Sling TV has created a product that combines traditional cable with video on demand services, streaming regular TV channels live and having thousands of movies available on demand.

Add-On Packages

With Sling TV, users can get different add-on packages such as HBO, Sports Extra, Kids Extra, Hollywood Extra, Etc. These packages average $5 more per month.

Ability to Watch Current Seasons

Users can enjoy their favorite series that is currently airing, rather than waiting for the season to finish and watch a season behind.

Parental Controls

Sling TV added parental control features so subscribers can easily sift channels and movies by rating.

Free Trial

Potential subscribers can try Sling TV free for seven days without any obligation whatsoever, allowing them to try services before making a decision. Overall, Sling TV has a lot of great features for their subscribers. The company has essentially created a new form of streaming TV, allowing subscribers to watch on demand and live TV channels without a cable or satellite contract. They have over 65 channels available and Sling TV works on a variety of devices such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, XBox One, Android TV and devices, iOS devices, Chromecast, and more.

The Bad

  • More expensive
  • Replay issues
  • Can't stream on multiple devices

Monthly Price

The basic package is a flat rate of $28 per month, which is more than other competitors. However, Sling TV offers streaming movies and TV with live TV channels.

Roku Streaming Issues

Sling TV is fully supported on the Roku player. However, there have been complaints that the Roku app will crash, causing a bad user experience.

No Compatibility with Apple TV

Apple TV is one of the most popular streaming devices on the market. However, there isn't an Apple TV app for Sling TV.

Replay Issues

If a subscriber misses a show and wants to catch up next week, there is a limited time to re-play. Sling TV only allows for a three day "replay" on a few of its channels at this time.

Streaming on Multiple Devices

The most common complaint with Sling TV is due to the inability to stream on multiple devices at one time. You must get individual subscriptions if your family wants to enjoy their different programming on different devices at the same time. Although Sling TV is very innovative and has created a great alternative to cable and satellite contracts, it does have a few drawbacks. The price is a little high, when compared to other streaming TV companies.  Also, Sling TV isn't compatible with Apple TV and has streaming issues on the Roku. However, the main drawback is not being able to stream on multiple devices. This is a big deal now that households have multiple TVs, iPads, phones, and streaming devices.

gavel

The Bottom Line

Sling TV is providing a new, innovative way to enjoy traditional cable or satellite broadcasts without breaking the bank. Sling TV is much cheaper than having cable TV with a traditional TV provider. However, the monthly price is a little higher compared to its competitors, but it is a very different service. For some customers, they will need to purchase additional packs in order to get some channels, like MSNBC, Golf, Oxygen, and more. So, if you are looking for a straight on demand streaming service, Sling TV isn't for you.  Sling TV is a higher price for a reason, providing customers with live TV channels and on-demand videos.

I did as much research as I though necessary to believe sling would provide streaming services for World Series, so subscribed only to discover that I can stream NONE of the games real time. I paid first month and they will not refund. They don't refund for ANY reason. In my opinion, their practices are clearly deceptive, but apparently not illegal. I am hoping someone starts a class action lawsuit. Apparently I am one of hundreds, if not thousands, who have been treated the same way.

I am currently in my 7-day free trial period. I will cancel before the trial period ends, and I am aware of the time that I must cancel by. The time is clearly stated in the confirmation email Sling sent to me when I activated the service via my smart TV. This is their policy, and it doesn't seem sneaky to me. NOTE: I will be reactivating Sling TV in the very near future. I am currently with Dish and pay $150/month, which is too much. I don't watch 95% of the channels I pay for. And, I pay around $8 each for three Joey's so that I can receive Dish TV programming in an additional three rooms in my house, other than the main room where the tv is hooked up to the DVR. Sling TV allows me to watch TV in every room of my house for the same price, and not one penny more. I don't need to pay extra for this. I am testing the Orange and Blue packages for $40, and I added the four extra add ons " special" for $10. I also am testing the cloud DVR. The channels I am testing cover 95% of the channels I watch on my $150/month Dish TV subscription. I wish more local channels were included with Sling, but I do receive two local Channels, including Fox. I do wish Sling had the OWN channel - I love "The Have and the Have Nots," - and Me TV. But I am preparing to retire, and $150 just doesn't fit into my budget anymore. For me, the programming grid guide is a bit hard to read - the print seems small and faded. But, I will live with that to save $. It is laid out well and easy to understand. The reason I will cancel Sling is to give me time to get my internet in order. I have old, low-speed internet service, and it is interfering with my Sling streaming. The picture is a little blurry, and my internet struggles to stream the live TV at times. Still I am very pleased. But I can't blame Sling for this. I am aware of my internet limitations at the moment, and I have had issues with it before the Sling trial subscription. The voice quality is the same with Sling as it is for Dish. For those wanting to avoid internet usage caps, deliberately slowed streaming speeds by internet providers, and sky-high monthly billing, check out Toast Net internet. I hope I don't run into the Sling billing issues that others in this forum have, and I am operating under the assumption that I won't for various reasons. Sling TV seems to be a great option for smaller households. Larger households could prove more challenging. Before blaming Sling for bad reception, please know your household's current internet limitations as well as usage before signing on to a free trial. Do on-line research if need be.

I used Sling TV for about a year & it was the main thing we used for streaming TV in our household. The channels they had available were good enough for me to continue my service with them for at least a year. However, I found myself watching other Streaming TV applications more, where I felt I no longer needed Sling TV. It was very easy to cancel my service.

The idea behind Sling is great. Good selection of channels and user friendly interface. That's where the good ends and the bad begins. I have the app streaming through my Xbox One X and it is not without its issues. Often times the stream has to buffer or just gets hung up all together. Typically when a show ends and new one begins, I have to back out of the channel or sometimes the app, and go back in to get the stream to work again. I have gigabit internet and the stream quality is mediocre at best about half the time. Support seems wither unable or unwilling to address the issue which has been going on since I got the service. The streaming definitely needs some work.

My family has been using Sling TV as our main source of television viewing. We like the cost of Sling, which is why we put up with some of the other things we don't like about Sling. I like how we can view the channels we are interested in having at a lower cost. I like how I can choose an episode that I want to watch. I don't like how they repeat the same commercial throughout the episode you are watching. It is literally the same commercial shown over and over. Commercial viewing is bad enough, but at least let us watch a different commercial during each commercial break! I also don't like how you can only stream Sling on one device at a time. If someone is watching something in one room, no one else can watch Sling anywhere else in the house.

Sling is great. They need to get discovery. They also need to find a way to offer internet service. What my internet server wants to charge me plus sling charge in the very near future sling wont be worth it. I dont know about the bad reviews but from the free trail to now sling is great.

We have sling TV for our favorite TV live channels. We can watch them on our smart TV, smartphone, streaming devices or even our game console. It is so much cheaper then a cable package!! Sling TV has cut our TV costs in half! They have very popular packages with the channels you really care about watching. I highly recommend adding sling TV to your TV options.

My only complaint probably is more to do with our wireless service then sling. We've had them over a year, I really like them. There are times it buffers to much or that at the end of a program it all the sudden disconnects, but overall, very happy with them. 1000 times better than cable/Specturm/Charter!

Always buffering no matter what device you use to watch it. No matter how good the internet connection it still buffers constantly. Never saves place when viewing on demand and returning later to finish show. They say it's cheaper but to get the channels cable offers you end up spending the same. The picture quality gets pixlated often. The audio gets out of synch often as well. Honestly spend the extra couple bucks for reliability with cable that comes with a dvr . On demand populates much later than most other services. This would be great if your a casual user. We love news and movies so it's on often. Canceling soon.

I've had Sling for over 3 months now. Never had any issues with it freezing or not working. Considering the amount of money I was paying for DirecTV and it NEVER worked during the winter due to snow, I'm a happy customer. I get a lot more channels since I can customize my package and save over $60/month. Wish I would've switched sooner.

Signed up with Sling on a free week promotion and it was so good, I decided to keep it going. Easy access to many channels and especially sports channels that I didn't have access to otherwise. Easy to use on my home tv, or my mobile device and easy to look up my bill and pay online.

I did the free week and then the free month and then signed up, because I liked the programming. It gave me access to the shows I wanted to see and had a great selection of sports. I like that you can go back and watch them again and save shows and I also like the ability to watch on the go anywhere.

Great prices for multiple channels! What's great about this TV service is that you receive the first 7 days free which allows you to try their live streaming to see if you like it! It has been worth the monthly payment as my husband can watch his football, as my kids with their Disney channel, and me with my cooking shows:)

I liked having sling as such an inexpensive option a few years ago. I got Espn and other great channels, but they’ve gone up in price since they’ve gained traction. Still would purchase again when I get bored of Netflix or Hulu.

Absolutely the worst. Have had this for 3 months and it's been terrible the whole time. Stops streaming multiple times throughout any given show. If commercials have not been programmed into that show, many times it goes to "black" during the period of time the commercials should have been running in that time slot. You can't pause commercials. If you pause the actual show for more than 5 minutes it will not start back up at the same point you paused it at, and you have to start all over at the beginning. You can, admittedly, then fast-forward but it only allows fast-forwarding through the show segments, not through the commercial segments, so you have to watch those commercials (or black screen) all over yet again. We're slinging this as far away as possible today and, though it will cost more, going with a much better service.

Sling use to be wonderful. 40 bucks a month for access to my favorite channels. I happily threw cable out the window. For some reason over the course of the last year, Sling has become very glitchy. It freezes. It shuts down and takes me back to Roku's home page. Actors are frozen but dialogue is continuing. Just bazaar stuff. It's so often now that I keep the roku remote close by because I expect to push the back arrow to reselect the show so it starts playing correctly again. As of right now, no issues with customer service, billing, or refunds.

They are fraudulent company! They illegally charged my card! I cancelled SlingTV within 10 minutes of signing up for the free trial on their website because they were not airing the show I wanted to watch. There is a conversation that I had with their Rep asking about my show and telling them that I was going to cancel because I was only interested in a specific show. I then canceled my account through the website and it went through on the site. Now they say they have no record of that? Lies, Fraud, Scam! They charged me illegally and when I called them they said it's their policy to not give refunds!!! They should never have charged me in the first place! They need to be sued. Do not sign up for sling TV! I can't believe they are even in business! Watch out! Horrible! I asked for my concern to be escalated and the person I spoke with claimed to be a manager yet they had no authority to do anything. She gave me the following address and info to fill out a claim. www.adr.org. Also the address of the billing dept: 9601 South Meridian Blvd, Englewood, CO 80112 SlingTV stole my money! Charged my card illegally and they owe me for what they stole!!!

Don't remember

Very average, the show would stop steaming at very odd times. I had to come out of program and start it up again. If it was live show I miss key parts and didn't have time to go back to see what I missed. This happened to many times to mention.

We like being able to have the selection to various TV channels, different health based such as Yoga. What we do not like is a lot of channels require you to have a basic package with your cable company to get content. We also like being able to view sling in our different locations.

I've heard about Sling TV's "Free 7-Day Trial" for a long time and as my local cable company gave us a 20% increase in our bill this month, I decided to make a change based on cable's price increase. I went to Sling TV's website and looked at their numerous options before choosing to buy a Roku Ultra for $50 in addition to 3 months of service. Later I found out that I did not qualify for the "Free 7-Day Trial" because I purchased the Roku at a discounted price. So highly recommend trying the Sling TV 7-Day Free Trial before any financial commitment. (I'm not sure how many people will want Sling TV after a free trial because of so many issues like buffering, pauses, hard to use interface with the app alone, etc.) On August 1st, one day after I placed the order online, I received an email from Sling TV saying, "Good news! Your Roku Ultra is on the way. Expect a package to arrive within the next few days. You’ll be watching your personal channel lineup on your big screen in no time." This was NOT TRUE and set me up for an unrealistic expectation! On August 7th, eight days after I ordered Sling TV, I called them to inform them that my Roku Ultra has not arrived. It turns out that their week-old email was a LIE because the Roku had not even been sent, thus delaying it as much as an additional week! I have been playing with the Sling TV app since last week, but it is clunky and hard to work with on my computer and not nearly as easy or convenient without the Roku or other interface. The worst part is the channels often pauses or buffers, and that is REALLY annoying! Sling TV recommends a minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps and my internet is over 100 Mbps plus I'm hard-wire connected with a CAT-5 cable instead of connecting wirelessly, but still get frustrating buffering when I watch! So I contacted Sling TV today (via chat and phone) asking to cancel my subscription and refund my money. I did so because they had not fulfilled their email promise to me. I politely asked to get out of the contract and have a refund issued, but all three SlingTV representatives/supervisors I talked with told me that it was NOT possible because I agreed to purchase the Roku Ultra and 3 months of service. I was told "Sorry you're unhappy, but we can not help you!" I was then promised by Victor that my Roku Ultra would "definitely" be here in 3 days (this Friday, August 10th.) So IMHO, Sling TV’s customer's service won’t help you even if your complaint is fair and reasonable. I’m hoping the Roku will come by Friday and that this interface will make Sling TV a better experience. If not, I will re-connect to our local Spectrum cable and pay three times more for a much better picture quality, better customer service and far greater channel selection. In hindsight, switching to Sling TV was a bad decision for me. CONCLUSION: (1) NEVER sign up for Sling TV without a "Free 7-Day Trail." (That way you can quit without going thru the frustration I did.) (2) Be sure your internet speed is high enough, and be willing to accept the fact that your Sling TV program will pause and buffer regardless of your internet speed! (3) The old saying, "You get what you pay for" is most often true! Paying 3 times as much for cable TV may be worth it as you get MANY more channels with a better interface and no buffering or annoying pauses of your TV programs. Plus Spectrum’s customer service IS far superior…I’ll give them that!

Wish I had read the user reviews before subscribing to Sling's free Roku offer with 2 months prepay. I bought it believing I was going to see the World Cup, Wimbledon and then possibly keep the subscription. When I discovered within a few hours that I could only get a few World Cup matches (and of course not the most important ones) I tried to cancel but they would not budge. I could not have imagined that a 'major' player in the US market with a lot of competition could have such a poor and inflexible customer service policy. If a customer can't get what they want from your service and made a mistake and told you in a timely manner then it is a no-brainer to refund. BTW: I'll be sure to read user reviews before I purchase something again because they shows an accurate review of Sling. Other review sites appear to be advertising for the companies themselves! Perhaps this why Sling gets a 4 stars review on one site when it is in effect 0 stars.

These are worst of worst you will ever experience. We have cancelled the services by last Dec 2017 and the charges suddenly popping up from March, Apr and May 2018. Every time I had to call them for credit it back and deleting the credit card details. The answer is all the same. " We have deleted" and the charges keeps popping up. They have audacity to say they wont be crediting the $10.81 they took on March2018 because we didnt call them early and because of their updated regulations. And they will not be giving me a free month. They have been cheating like this taking money from consumers even after cancellation of services.

The app is horrible. All my other apps work fine with my Apple TV. It has never worked well, always sluggish and slow, but was serviceable for the price. Today, April 27, 2018, I turned on my tv and started up the Sling app and would gain no picture on my tv but the sound worked. I figured it was a minor temporary issue and would just try it again later. Then later in the day (about 3:30pm) I again booted up my Sling app and gain there was sound but no visual, just a black screen. I proceed to reboot the app, still did not work, then I try at least 6 other apps on my Apple TV and all worked fine. So I then decided to contact Sling Customer support. I call an number that was online and the first person said they needed to transfer me to a “Senior Technician” to better help. After being transferred, I discovered that I was transferred to an Apple Tech support person who said they would have to charge me to resolve the issue. I told them I should not have to pay for a problem that I have not caused. So I again called Sling Customer Support, as I was trying to explain what happened to me, the support person (said his name was James) said it could be fixed for a fee. I told him Sling should fix it and that I should not have to pay. He proceeded to hang up on me. I then called Sling Customer support again and again was told I would have to pay to resolve the problem. I, again, stated that I should not have to pay to fix the problem and again the support person hung up on me. Then I try a forth call in to Sling Customer support and got a very nice young lady who listened to me and said she has passed on my issue to the appropriate people. She also has me try a few things to see if we could fix the issue but those ideas did not work (like unplugging the tv then plugging it back in and starting it). So I have decided that I must cancel with Sling.

If anyone is thinking about getting sling tv I wouldn't recommend it! Tim was paying my credit card bill an asked me a question an I noticed sling charged twice. So I hit the dispute button an today I checked an Capital One refunded it. So I went back on statements to September of last year an they doubled charged me every month for 6 months. So I call sling an they looked my account up an said I see you only have one account. I said exactly. My credit card reimbursed me for this month now you owe me $250 for other months. He said let me look under your name. He then states I have another account with same information but one letter off on email an there's nothing he can do but refund this month. I said my credit card already did that so your doing nothing? He said right! I called my credit card company to file dispute. Please feel free to share so people don't deal with this.

We mostly watch sports on TV. When I chose sling, I basically "went" by the reviews and comments. I had read that getting both Blue and Orange would give us good, main-stream sports coverage. I was wrong. We live 90 miles from Seattle. We got no Seattle sports and no Seattle TV stations. We got only a few NFL games a week (only rarely the Seahawks) and no U of Wa games, etc. Often we'd go on to check out some major game or sporting event, and we often didn't get it. Really bad. I think this probably varies somewhat by market, but don't sign on (like for 3 months to get the free AirTV player and antenna adapter, until you look very closely at what's offered.

I had to buy Sling TV Gift cards at Walmart/Best Buy (I only use prepaid cards that SlingTV doesn't accept) and I had to pay $9 fees to get 5 gift cards at $25 each. I opened an account picking my selection and deposited $125. A FEW SECONDS after I submitted my order I realized that I had not added the Sports Extra which was the reason why I ordered the service in the first place. Since my lineup cost $70 and I had $125 deposited in the account I thought I could add the Sports Extra but SlingTv wouldn't allow it despite my phone calls. They claim that the $125 is already used to buy service until March 20, therefore I need to come up with new money to get the Sport Extra. What kind of logic is that? I have more money in the account than a month of service but I can only buy the initial lineup with the extra credit on the account and must come up with MORE MONEY in order to buy new extras. This is the kind of corporate greed that cable companies display on a daily basis that made me cut the cord in the first place but it looks like the likes of SlingTV are as bad or even worse. I am stuck with them until March 20 and must spend another $18 to get the Sport Extra for 53 days (Yep they also prorated forward the Extra to match the money they stole in the first place.).

Be warned! Sling TV will trick you into ordering services/products that you do not want and had no intention of ordering. Their website is loaded with micro print “agreements” that you will click on locking you into bills that you cannot get out of. This company is a SCAM! They currently have a C rating on BBB with thousands of unresolved complaints. Further, Sling TV has an absolute no refund policy. It makes no difference to Sling TV if you are unhappy with your service or are tricked into ordering products/services that you do not want. The customer service is very rude and will do nothing to resolve your issue. STAY AWAY FROM SLING TV.

I signed up for a 7 day trial last Tuesday for 7 days to try Sling TV out in hopes it could replace Cable/satellite. The rep set everything over the phone, helped me get logged in and told me I had 7 days the cancel. I called today, 7 days later and requested the trial to end at this time and we would be considering asking at the beginning of year, didn’t want to overlap services (current vs. Sling). Unbeknownst to me, because I was following the conversation I had with the representative, I planned to cancel today per my conversation with her. I was told by the rep when I called around 5pm, after a long work day, that I needed to have called by 4:55pm est and that the $44 charge went through my account and would not be refunded. Obviously this did not sit well! I explained that 99.9% of trials are from the day you start to the end of the day on the last day from my experience. I explained to the rep, that was not made aware to me, and she said that an email was sent to me... mind you I received 20 from them over that week, and none had flashing lights that said “cancel your trial by 4:55pm CST to prevent being charged” Too much like good customer service right! I sent an email after realizing this was going no where. I sent my email and received a response in 30 seconds that in short, “you’re still not getting a refund and the rep told you 4:55pm when I started the service. Mind you, I told them in the email when I called today I was told that. This issue needs to be exposed because, Sling TV is obviously preying on the fact people will miss this detail when you receive over the phone help. When I clearly showed via a screen print the trial offer details to prove it does not state from 7 days from the time, it was completely dismissed as my misunderstanding, which mind you, is the reason why tried the service. There was no need for me to refer to the email when all setup details were done over the phone. Below is the reply: Hello Awri, Thank you for contacting Sling TV Support. We received your email regarding the billing issue you are experiencing and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Upon reviewing your account, we are unable to refund the charge to your credit/debit card as Sling TV is a non-refundable pre-paid service. We have however confirmed that your subscription has been set to cancel at the end of your current cycle to avoid any future charges. If you would like, you can review our Terms of Use here: “Link would not let me post” When reviewing the screenshots that you sent us that is just the terms if you were to sign up for the free trial today. That date will change tomorrow to say good until December 27, 2017. In addition in your email that you sent us you said that the agent did tell you to cancel by 4:55 PM EST. We apologize if confusion kicked in and the wrong time was written down on your calendar but the charge is valid. We are sorry to lose your business and we hope someday you may consider using our service again. You can always sign back up by logging into your account at www.sling.com/signin. Thank you for choosing Sling TV — the #1 Live TV Streaming Service So......We are throwing you under the bus because our website is not accurate, it was not explained to you when the rep set up everything for you, but we want you to consider us in the future REALLY!!!! 1. The problem is your trial offer details 2. Not calling out loud and clear by this time The root issue I have here is Customer Service This is how you lose business, not gain it!

Two days before thanksgiving this year, our Direct TV box broke. We were forced to try new technology, and I signed us up for Hulu and Sling free trials. I chose both orange and blue ($60 total) because I wasn't sure which one would have football, etc. On the 7th day, I canceled it, but they already charged my credit card the full $60. They are a "prepaid service" according to customer service and would not give me a full or partial refund. So bummed I didn't cancel earlier, even though it was the 7th day. We did not care for this, we like Direct TV much more, and pay about $60 anyway. It's just easier to go through the channels. Hulu didn't work at all for me either, I couldn't figure out how to get the football game on. Total bummer, will never return to Sling because of this, and hope my bank will remove it (but doubtful, another person posted their bank wouldn't).

COMPLAINT: Sling TV did not refund my $25.00 within the seven-day trial period. FACTS: I order the Sling Blue package on 11/23/17. I called to cancel on 11/27/17. The representative, Liz, refused to provide me a refund. PRO: The representative Liz was very polite. She was very careful to avoid directly challenging me or saying no to my request for a refund. Instead she evaded my questions and repeatedly stated I was on a prepaid plan instead of the trial period. CON: Sling TV refused to issue me a refund as a courtesy or because I was in the trial period. Even after asking to speak with the manager, Liz placed me on hold for over 45 minutes. The manager never answered. The phone line eventually disconnected. SUMMARY: Be aware their promotion may be designed to make it difficult to cancel or receive a refund if you are unhappy with Sling TV service. Sling Contact Number (English) 888-359-2407

Buyer beware!! I tried to use the SlingTV for the Free Trial. I wanted the service to stream The Walking Dead, which airs at 1AM EST in my time zone. The show was choppy and laggy as it loaded and jumped. I attempted to cancel the service but it was at 1:30 AM EST and no phone reps were available. I attempted to cancel the service online but my email and password (Same combo for my email, online accts-so no, I did not mistype or forget) was not recognized by their system. Even requested a pw reset and checked my email and even my spam folder. No email was sent. Contacted them via chat figuring that would be the quickest route. I was told that My acct. went live and I was charged that no refund could be issued. Here is the chat convo. Hello, my name is Christian. We're sorry to hear you do not want to continue your Sling TV subscription but I'm not locating an account with the email you came in with, do you have another email? Hello, Christian. Try Dxxxxxx@gmail.com, I found the account with this email - dxxxxxxx@gmail.com Tried to cancel last night but it was not accepting any of my emails. My trial is up today and I am seeing that you are already trying to charge my bank. Tried watching The Walking Dead stream last night and it was all choppy the 2 times I attempted. I would be more than glad to assist you in canceling the account. In order to further cancel your account, can you please provide the last four digits of the credit/debit card you have associated with your account? xxxx However by canceling the account today it would be at the end of your new billing cycle 11/30 because the account was not canceled within the free trial. That is because the system would not recognize my email/passwords and I requested a pw reset but it never came through which is why I am chatting with you. So I do not wish to pay for a service that I tried to cancel because it does not allow me to do the 1 thing I wanted it for. Once the payment has been made we are unable to issue a refund on the account. When registering online before submitting order you also see a message display showing the time and date the account has to be canceled to avoid any charges. Sling does take every precaution to avoid the customer from getting charged if they decide to not keep the services. I understand that you were unable to log into the account because of issues with the email and password but we do other ways to cancel the account like today you are chatting with me. Also we do have a number you can contact us or even via email. This would be the number 1-888-940-6789 Would you like me to cancel the account for you? I am in Az and we have a time diff between us and when attempting to call at 1:30AM EST since the show I was attempting to watch was on at 10PM my time. Yes cancel the acct and get me a supervisor please May I ask the reason on why you are requesting a supervisor? I certainly understand how frustrating this issue can be, but at this moment, this is a matter of policy and not necessarily authority, we all follow the same guidelines when regarding refunds. For a refund on the services that I can not use. So please get me a supervisor. Please allow me one moment. You will continue to have service until 11/30, which is the date that your account is scheduled for cancellation. You will still have access to your programming until then. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. Thank you Christian. I am also copying and pasting this conversation for my review of your services and when contacting the FTC and BBB as well as my banks to file Fraud charges. Sorry that is FCC not FTC. I'm going to transfer you to my supervisor now. Thanks have a good day. :) You as well. I spoke with his sup Josue and then tried calling in to the 888 number and spoke with Kim and her Sup Brian all of who'm apologized for my troubles but would not issue a refund. I will be contacting my bank's Fraud Dept, the FCC and the BBB to file complaints.

This is the worst streaming company ever. DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF, cancel before the next withdrawal, no refunds. And The excuse they use to steal your money is the terms and conditions. No customer service and they want to tell you that you should have called us about it as that is the appropriate way to handle this issue. Bull crap.. Buyer beware, Don't do it, Hulu since I have had it works grand, may buffer a second but right back on, Sling goes down for a period of hours and clearing cache and data plus calling them gets old. STAY AWAY FROM SLING, UNLESS YOU LIVE NEXT DOOR TO THEM AND YOUR FEED IS STRAIGHT FROM LEAVING RIGHT NEXT DOOR. I'M TELLING YOU THE GOSPEL TRUTH.

Like others, I also did the free week trial and it was going ok. I can see how people may like it. But after about 4 days I cancelled it. I went to Roku manage subscriptions like usual and No Sling and deleted Sling from Roku. Like I normally do without an issue. Then I end up getting billed. I'm really annoyed by both Sling and Roku about this. They need to make this more clear. I want my money back! Don't get Sling if they keep with this BS practice. It should be a free trial that automatically ends and you have to affirm that you want it to continue. And Roku needs to make this more clear too!

I have Roku TV. I visited the Sling TV web sight. It is not a true a la carte. You select the package that has the channel that you want! I signed up for the Blue so that I could get NBCSN and watch the NASCAR races. It was easy to sign up. The race was scheduled later that day, but I found out that it was blocked. I called the same day to cancel. The lady that I talked to told me that I would get a refund and that I would be able to try out Sling TV for the 30 days. A few days later I checked my bank account and did not see a refund. I called Sling TV again. This time I was told that I was paid up for the month and could not get a refund! So when I got to work I installed the Sling TV app. on my work computer. I was able to access the next weeks race at work, but still not at home on Roku. This is not a customer friendly company! Once they get your money you are not getting it back!

Do not get sling if you are looking for a way to watch sports without cable.. I had to get the most expensive 40 dollar plan in order to be able to get the channels that televise the college and nfl games I want. What they do not tell you is that when the game comes on you want to watch, it is blacked out on that channel and unavailable. I could not watch the game i wanted to last week. this week I tried to watch a game on sec network (which is not included in the 40 dollar plan) on watch espn. They tell you that you can watch that game if you pay for cable or sling and log on. after I log into sling on watch espn, I am still told that I am unable to watch the game. At least you can cancel after a month

My husband and I were on the first day of our 5 day trial. We were going back and forth between Sling and PlayStation Vue, and ended up cancelling both until we could decide. We decided, in less than an hour, and reactivated Sling. Then the hurricane hit and we have had no internet for a week. We were about to subscribe to them and even pay 3 months in advance to get the cable antenna and AirTV, when we saw that they charged our account prematurely because we stopped and then restarted the trial. So my husband calls customer service to cancel the free trial and get a refund because we didn't know when our internet would be back so we wouldn't be able to use their service. So despite the fact that we were stuck in a hurricane and left with no power or internet, despite the fact that we had reactivated our trial within 45 minutes, and despite the fact that we wanted to commit to them and cancel our DirectTV, they completely refused to refund our money. Their customer service is horrible!!!! Will NOT be subscribing to them after all!!!

This is the most unethical and sketchy streaming service. Since they do not offer "refunds" or notify customers you are auto-billing. I will continue to leave bad feedback on every platform I can. I never received an email stating my free 2 week trial was up but noticed on my bank account today that I had a pending charge, I immediately went online to cancel the subscription and I contacted CS. They told me since it was processed YESTERDAY on their end they could not offer me a refund. If other companies like Amazon are able to issue you a refund when you cancel Amazon Prime right away, Sling TV can issue a refund a day after since I only signed up for the free trial for the fight.

This is for SLING TV Pay Per View. I am customer with 3 years and have never subscribed for any Pay per view. But today 9/7/17 I got an email from SLING mentioning that I have purchased pay per view program for Canelo vs. Golovkin fight which is on Sept 16., 2017. My credit card statement shows charge of $86.18. The pay per view is display directly under Guide and main channels and anyone can mistakenly click it. I spoke to customer care and they were rude and clearly said they cannot refund money even if program is in future. The user interface changes every other day and Sling TV displays pay per view with main channels and any one and click it by mistake. This is easy way of charging extra bucks.

BEWARE OF 7 DAY FREE TRIAL THAT YOU CANCEL IN 7 DAYS AND IT STILL COSTS YOU $24.99!!!!!! YOU HAVE TO BE FRICKIN KIDDING ME.... So, I have been trying to cut the Direct TV cord for awhile. I have a bunch of furnished rental houses and provide the cable/dish service. I did the 7 day trial to see what it was like. In general, I would say just OK. A lot of renters are older folks so they would have NO idea how to deal with the user interface and toggle their way around...forget it. I dont think it will work but I wanted to give it a try. ANYWAY, NOW HERE IS THE RUB. I did a 7 day trial. Of course you have to give them your credit card and are told you will be billed after free trial expires. Easy enough to set up. I had phone number to call to cancel. It is labor day weekend and I dont have internet but I have my phone. On day 7 I called to cancel in the morning. They tell you your wait time is OVER 10 minutes. NOT, the first time I called I was holding for 30 minutes. I hang up. The second time I call in the afternoon I am on hold over 20 minutes. I hang up. NOW, I am doing this all while out of town with two small kids under 5 years old....SO, finally at 7:30 pm after kids are in bed I call and get through after 35 minutes. I cancel. I tell my frustration to the customer service and get the blah blah blah. I am NOT told at that point I will be charged. Why would I be charged. This is a FREE 7 day trial. SO, next day I get home and check my bank account statements as I normally do after a holiday....and LOW AND BEHOLD I am charged $24.99 by Sling TV yesterday after I cancelled yesterday. SO, I call thinking there was an error. I tell the customer service rep there must be an error as I called yesterday. NO, he tells me not an error. If I wanted to cancel my 7 day free trial I had to do so by 2:10 pm on Sept 2, 2017 instead of when I called which was 7:25 pm on Sept 2, 2017. I say, "you are joking." He says no that is their policy . They are a pre-paid company and NO monies can be refunded. I explain that I called THREE times and the long wait times and he tells me I could have used the internet. I told him I was out of town and internet was not available but my phone was. I ask to speak with Christine, his supervisor in Texas at operator number YON. She tells me same thing. She tells me same song and dance about being a prepaid company and no monies can ever be refunded. I ask for information about their CEO, Roger Lynch, and Christine tells me when I signed up for the free trial I also signed off rights to a class action or some such thing. I have no idea what she was even talking about. I asked Christine, "are you trying to convert people away from the competitors or just trying to piss them off. Because, you have certainly made me really angry." So, that is where I left it with my "NOT SO FREE, FREE TRIAL" that just cost me $24.99 for 7 days.

I cancelled my account 3 months ago and got and email confirmation on doing so... I just checked my bank account and out of nowhere sling decided to take key out of my account even tho it has been "cancelled" and I couldn't even log into my account again once I found out. I had to call and be put on hold for hours just for them to cancel it again, because apparently it is that hard just to cancel and account. When I let the employee know I had cancelled he simply said it shows as an "active" account and did not even bother to look into the issue. After an hour of holding he finally cancelled my account (yet again) and had the nerve to laugh at my response for not willing to answer their survey over the phone... don't fall for their scam: not even the greatest streaming and have even worse customer service.
