I would recommend KAYO Solar. I am a new customer in Las Vegas, NV. Sales person reliable and accurate offering all options (lease, purchase, install, tax incentives, etc.). The only thing to remember is not to under buy a system and between city/county permits and install, you can expect 60-days install time. Customer service representative was the best, follow-up and asked if we needed anything else. YES buy and/or lease from KAYO. F. Ortiz customer.

This company was very easy and competent to work with. They answered all my questions through the process of ordering, installation and connecting to the grid. They were always respectful and prompt with any information that I requested. A very neat and professional job was done by their employees.

Kayla was very good salesperson. Installers prompt, courteous and answered all questions I had. Install was fast and efficient and clean-up afterwards was super. I highly recommend this company.

Honestly, I am disappointed. They damaged my roof and now I can’t get hold of anyone to repair the damages. They are not reliable. I spent so much money, I am loosing my mind. Don’t ever use this company and remember the owner’s name. Don’t ever do business with him

Sales rep was extremely nice and explained how it all works and what would be best for my home, unfortunately I have not seen ANY difference in my bills. Im still having to pay APS a ton of money on top of my Solar Panels, which come out to be almost the same I was paying without solar. Ive reached out to the company and they take forever to get back to me. And when they do, they just say im still saving a few bucks every month. Well considering I have 30K worth of panels on my roof, id expect to pay almost nothing to APS. Long story short, KAYO has not been very good to me in customer service, i made a mistake of even getting solar. I personally don't think its worth it. At least not with KAYO. They claimed they built my panels to cover 20% more than what I currently use and this has not shown to be true at all. Don't make the mistake!!!! You've been warned.

In August of 2020 I contracted with Kayo Energy to install solar panels. The salesman, Travis, stated his unconditionally that his company was not associated with Vivant , a company I would not have done business with because of poor reviews. He also told me several lies including I would not have to pay for a battery, I could cancel at any time and I would definitely save money. I was never told my house would look like an electric relay station; large pipes and exposed copper wires and transformers. The workmanship was horrible. Then, to my surprise, I received my solar bills themselves they are from Vivant and their “customer service” is based there as well(I still have the texts expressing my anger). Kayo may not be Vivant, but everything subsequent is. After my first horribly large electric bill I tried reaching Travis several times with no response. I then spoke with Aaron and told him to take back their panels and then eventually with Eric. Eric gave me a song and dance about how I have to give it a few months as this was a high usage month. He said so eloquently stated that “he would not hesitate to sell this program to family and friends”. I’m sorry he has such disregard for them. Ultimately, he was trying to keep me until the 90 return policy was lapsed. I have kept track of my electrical usage with and without solar for one year. It has actually COST me money to use solar. I even calculated with a 6% usage increase from APS that didn’t occur, even though Kayo said is was going to. Their website clearly states: Save Money________________________________________ No more uncertainty with unpredictable utility rates. You take control of your power and pay less for clean energy. What a joke. Their salesman are "independent" contractors which means they can say whatever they want and Kayo is not responsible. DON'T BELIEVE A WORD!! HAVE A LAWYER READ YOUR CONTRACT. I learned the hard way.

Reply from Kayo Energy

Hi Maureen,

First of all Kayo is not vivint. I want to make that abundantly clear; that statement is not true. Kayo Energy is an installer. We work with a number of finance companies. To name a few: GoodLeap, Sunlight Financial, Dividend Finance, Sunrun (formerly vivint solar).

Unfortunately I can’t speak directly to what your independent contractor Travis stated in the home but what I can share is that the Vivint solar agreement which was signed explicitly says Vivint solar on the top of the agreement. Additionally, Vivint solar requires a recorded welcome call to be conducted on every single one of their accounts. In this welcome call a Vivint solar representative speaks with the homeowner on a recorded phone call and reviews all the terms and conditions to which the customer verbally agrees and acknowledges prior to advancing the account. The purpose of these internal controls are to ensure all expectations are being set properly with the homeowner.

Vivint solar (now Sunrun) keeps this recorded welcome call on file for future reference. We want to be as helpful as possible and we apologize deeply if for some reason you were under the impression that we don’t collaborate with Vivint solar (now Sunrun) on third party owned systems such as leases and power purchase agreements.

As far as your post solar electric bill, as reviewed on the welcome call, in any given month in which your demand for power exceeds the production from your system, the difference comes from your local utility provider. If your solar system produces more than you need in a month, then your utility provider (APS) purchases the excess power back from you and provides you with a credit on your utility bill in the months in which you may need additional power. This is very common within the industry and was explained to you at time of signing up. It’s possible that you are consuming more electricity than what your system is designed to produce. Sometimes when people go solar they begin using more power than previously used in average; I.e. often times usage habits change, people keep their thermostat at a more favorable level, intend to use appliances throughout the house more liberally.

Naturally if you are consuming more power than you’re producing then you are going to see a bill for the difference. When combined, these payments on average throughout the course of the year should be less than what you would have paid if you didn’t have solar. Also, there are a couple of different post solar rate plans. Depending on your usage habits throughout the day and overall consumption, some can be more financially advantageous than others. With APS, each month in which you get a bill, at the bottom it states which rate plan is ideal to maximize your monthly savings.

We will have a representative reach out again to make sure this is clearly explained and will do everything we can in our power to make sure you are having an amazing experience.

Best,

TJ

Great experience thus far. Took a little longer than expected but they communicated well and often throughout the whole process so I was always informed.

A rep came to my door and looked super unprofessional. Called me Dood and Bro. Could not tell me anything that his company could do differently from other companies. Stood at my door and badmouthed other companies the whole time. I feel like if all you can do is talk bad about other companies than you have nothing better to offer than your opinion, and that's not worth my time.

Kayo installed our solar panels in late August of 2021, and have been contacting company to get the panels approved w/ APS to install meter. We have made many attempts w/ Kayo and APS nothing is happening to get our panels approved. They are giving us the run around for the past 2 months. This is ridiculous that we are NOT getting what we already paid for. This is very poor customer service and there is an unresolved complaint recently filed w/ BBB w/ similar complaints we have w/ Kayo as well. We want our solar panels approved if not we demand a full refund.
