Our sales guy, Rob, who is very informative, knowledgeable, and responsive, easy to work with during this process. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication between the layout plans and the install team/electricians /inspectors which ultimately delayed the installation and all of the inspections so we weren’t insanely pleased with all of that.

The solar system initially wasn’t enough for my home, so I had added more panels. Then my problems with my elec. provider billed me over $1300. Now I’m having problems with Sunnova or the installer, whoever is at fault, to take care of my bill. The installers found as fault with my unit and hopefully corrected it. Hopefully I’ll get better service soon.

Sales rep was the best if it wasn’t for Rich M I don’t know where I would be he was there to push to get things completed and had answers for me the construction aspect took way to long from time of signing to completion of the project (5) months and this was with me pushing to get it done over finished product is well done and seems to be of good quality if only there were less hassles with the completion time I would have rated higher stars

Now your system says I have a solar installation. The representative did not listen to what I was telling him just fast talked me and proceeded as if he was in a hurry and want to move on to the next call.

The system is operating normally, and the installation seems to have been done well. I understand Sunnova did not install it but subcontracted it to a local installer, so maybe that doesn't speak about Sunnova itself. I did not choose Sunnova, it was the only *option* I had when I bought my new construction home. What I do not like about Sunnova: - First and most importantly, their customer service. It took 3+ months to get PTO from the utility. There is ZERO initiative from the Sunnova interconnection department to look into projects that are not moving along and getting a response to emails is impossible. I had to call and email countless times just to get an update, and was quickly dismissed with the usual 'we're waiting on the utility' response. I had to beg them to follow up with the utility to see if anything was wrong and eventually they escalated it. The second thing I dislike about Sunnova is their pricing -- they charged me more than DOUBLE what you'd expect for such an installation, especially considering it was for a new construction which greatly simplifies it. I've worked in solar for 10 years and this price per watt was hard to be okay with. Again, I didn't have a choice, the home came with a Sunnova system and it's possible that the price was not just set by Sunnova but by the builder as well (even though the builder explained they had no say on the price of the system).

The system works. It is just wrong to price gouge new home owners that have to put solar on there roof. As someone that works in the solar industry $4.25 per watt for a cash deal is ridiculous. The lease was even more expensive. California has crazy housing costs and to add that to the bill is wrong. I understand making money on the system. The area I am in if I was a consumer would pay between $3 to $3.50 a watt. Sometimes you can get a lower price than that. Shame on you Sunnova.

Sales person Bob F was fantastic. Unfortunately that's where the good ends. I had my panels set to be installed that were to cover the entire back half of my roof, when they did the install in April, there was a ton of empty space. I had to purchase an additional 5 panels and was told that would fill it. I then had to wait from April until late July to have my system turned on. August 1 I had the new panels arrive and I still have empty space on my roof. The 2nd group of installers informed me the wrong inverter was delivered and is not compatible with what smart green installed in April. I am still waiting and had to contact the corporate number to try to find out what is going on. The Installers left trash from the install strewn all over my yard and deck as well as left bags on my roof that were left for me to have to clean up

I can't really rate Sunnova since my experience is very limited - I am disappointed that no one seems to know the battery system we installed and I am not convinced it is working at peak efficiency since the max power we have generated is around 6.5Kw with and 11.5 Kw system this is on a bight sunny day. We love the battery concept! We don't seem to generate any power back to the grid even though out house uses only 3-4Kw max right now. We put in a service ticket days ago and still waiting for a response from a tech to look at he system and answer question we have!

2019 got solar leased was told they take care of service if any problems they can remotely monitor well this past August I noticed a problem so I called I was told yeah we see the problem it been down since October? At this point it's still down that's with multiple emails one service visit still nothing case numbers no communication it's now 3-13-2021 stay away from this company they don't care.

Our solar panels were installed on July 8th, but apparently the roof was not evaluated very well, because they were unable to install the amount of panels they had originally decided . They finally decided on putting the additional panels in another location that doesn't get quite as much sun. On top of that, the emergency shut-off was not working when the inspector came out and was not fixed until 2 1/2 months later. Very dissapointed that it took so long to fix since now, late September, the days are getting shorter and less energy is being stored.
