The Good

  • Trusted Solar Panel Brands
  • Battery Solutions Available
  • Varied Roof Types
  • Virtual Energy Consultations

Trusted Solar Panel Brands

Sunergy installs solar panels from REC and Solaria. Both of these are well-known brands in the solar energy industry, each recognized for specific features and attributes:

  • REC panels offer competitive efficiency ratings, which means they can convert a higher percentage of sunlight into electricity compared to lower-efficiency panels. This can be beneficial for maximizing energy production in limited roof space. REC Solar also places a strong emphasis on sustainability throughout its manufacturing process, ensuring a reduced environmental impact.
  • Solaria panels have a high cell density, reducing the visible gaps between cells, maximizing energy, and giving them a modern, uniform look. Solaria solar panels are also equipped with shade-resistant technology, ensuring they continue to perform even when other panels may stop generating power.

Both of these brands include a 25-year manufacturer's warranty, so your equipment will be covered to some extent for the lifetime of your solar system.

Ultimately, a solar company can only be as reliable as its panels, so with Sunergy, customers can be confident that their systems will withstand the test of time.

Battery Solutions Available

In addition to custom solar energy systems, Sunergy also provides customers with backup battery options. Solar energy storage solutions like solar batteries upgrade any system by saving the excess energy the system produces. This energy can be put to emergency use, like in the event of a power outage or other grid-related issues.

Notably, Sunergy's solar batteries include a 15-year warranty, which beats out some competing solar battery warranties in the 10–12 year range.

Varied Roof Types

Sunergy installs on various types of roofs, so you can be confident that if your home is a viable candidate for solar, the company is equipped to take on the job.

Roof types include the following:

  • Composition shingle
  • Concrete tile
  • Standing seam metal
  • Flat roof

Virtual Energy Consultations

Sunergy also offers customers what it calls “touchless” energy consultations, meaning that the initial meeting between the homeowner and the consultant can take place virtually, and the site survey can be facilitated through technology instead of an in-person visit.

The Bad

  • Lack of Sunergy Reviews

Lack of Sunergy Reviews

As of July 2023, no online Sunergy reviews appear to exist. Granted, the company is young; however, the website suggests an impressive portfolio of residential and commercial clients with no client testimonials to corroborate Sunergy’s installation quality or customer service.

Customer reviews can be invaluable to prospective customers looking for a great solar installer. If you've worked with Sunergy, please consider leaving a review below.

The Bottom Line

Sunergy appears to possess many of the qualities necessary to be a successful and reliable solar provider, including high-quality equipment partnerships, solar battery storage, and plans to expand into states beyond California in the future. Based on its impressive portfolio of solar projects, we expect customer reviews to confirm and solidify a positive reputation for this company.

Sunergy Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean to be an Enphase Platinum contractor?

Sunergy is honored to be recognized as an Enphase Platinum contractor, a designation given to very few throughout the country. To be an Enphase Platinum contractor, you need to have been in business for at least 5 years, have multiple 5 Star Reviews across the entire time frame and pass all of the quality control checks that Enphase has in place as they randomly inspect installed systems after the fact for quality. Sunergy is recognized as the TOP RATED Enphase Platinum contractor in California!

What type of battery is right for me?

In this NEM 3.0 world, batteries are almost a necessity on every job. However, not all batteries do the same thing and everyone's needs are different. Sunergy's team of energy experts are well versed in batteries and will help you decide what battery you need, how many are needed and what you should expect out of the batteries on your project.

Is a local or regional contractor better?

The draw of working with a local contractor is strong. However, you may also want to work with someone who will be able to withstand market changes and be there in the future should something happen with your system. Sunergy blends the best of both worlds. With offices located throughout the state of CA (expanding to TX and FL soon), Sunergy is a local contractor backed with the security of being a regional player.

We can highly recommend Chris at Sunergy. We've had two homes that he has put a solar system on and in both cases he was communicative and did quality work. The attention to detail (aka quality work) was even noted by a roofer who did some work for us and commented on the solar array installation as being well done. Frank

I was looking around at several quotes when I was shopping around for the right system. Sunergy was not the cheapest company of the quotes I've seen but Pablo was very clear about what the company was about and made everything easy to understand. I never felt rushed to buy anything and was very comfortable with the communication which was a big part of my decision. During the install, Chris was my point of contact and he made sure to keep me in the loop the entire time. From the initial setup to finalizing with the inspector, I was very happy with how Sunergy took care of everything. I can't believe how fast everything was from the appointment to the final installation. I've had friends who have gotten solar panels done at their houses and I thought this would be taking months. Sunergy made everything really easy for me as a customer and I could not be happier with my purchase.

I met Chris from Sunergy through a roofer doing work on a house on my block. He came by, I provided my energy bills for the past two years knowing they would go up due to rate hikes and we just installed a pool. We were also planning on a reroofing project. Chris was the first vendor I talked with and he was very straight forward with his proposal. He only offered one company's panels because he believes in the product and doesn't come across as selling what he gets the best deal on versus what is best for the customer. I had discussions with other solar vendors who offer solar and roofing and they were more expensive than having it done with separate vendors. Sunergy wasn't cheap, about $1500 less than the other vendors, but they did work with our roofer to ensure that their installation wouldn't void the roofing warranty. That saved me about $4500 overall. Three years later the panels and inverter(s) are still working as expected and I haven't had an electric bill in three years (there were small charges, $12 - $15, until my credit kicked in after the first year). Every chance I get I recommend Sunergy or Solaria panels. - Jim G

Chris and his team did an excellent job on our solar panel install. They got everything done quickly which allows us to get in under NEM 2.0. He also worked well with the city and Edison to get all approvals needed. We appreciate the teams effort and would highly recommend them.

I am very pleased with my solar experience from Sunergy. The owner of Sunergy, Chris H, truly impressed me with his extensive experience, responsiveness, and commitment to designing a customized solar system. Right from the outset, Chris's extensive knowledge as a solar contractor was very helpful. He was always willing to answer the many questions I had and help guide me to make the best choice for my specific requirements. Unlike other solar contractors I had approached, Chris was never pushy in the process; instead, he presented a range of options, allowing me to make well-informed decisions. In my detailed comparative analysis of quotations from various solar installers, Sunergy's pricing emerged as highly competitive, offering remarkable value across the board. Sunergy's team did an incredible job with the solar installation and paid careful attention to maintaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The installation was fast and it was really awesome to be generating solar power on the same day of the installation. I highly recommend Sunergy to anyone looking to go solar!

Sunergy installed my solar panels in March 2023, and I was very pleased with the service and products that they provided. My contact was Chris Hammerstone, and it was very refreshing to work with someone who was very honest, clear with his communication and extremely responsive to my inquiries. Chris actually spent some time educating me on solar panels in general, and I appreciated that he provided me the necessary information to make the best decision for myself. The installation of the panels was fast (about 6-8 hours, over a period of 2 days). The activation of the panels was also relatively fast. The longest process was to work with my HOA for approvals; Chris also helped me navigate this process as he is very familiar with my HOA. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Sunergy, and I highly recommend them.

Sunergy just finished an installation of solar on our house. They took us through the process from the beginning to the end and required very little on our side. The ultimate outcome has been very positive and I highly recommend this company. Chris was wonderful to work with.

Chris handled the process professionally and in a timely manner. He was able to lock us in for NEM 2.0 pricing while accomodating our install timeline. Looking forward to working with Sunergy again when we add batteries to the system.

My system went down and the original installer was acquired. It was difficult to find someone who will service a system they did not install. A customer service rep from Enphase recommended Sunergy and said they have a good reputation for servicing systems they didn’t installed. I called and Chris picked up right away and was at my house 15 mins later. He understood the dilemma I was in and provided an immediate solution. He was friendly and professional and turns out to be the owner of Sunergy. I highly recommend Sunergy in all your solar needs.

Knowledgeable and quick. I really like the live status of the system on my PC. My annual bill from SCE was $8.15. Not bad for Southern California.
