Areej Y, our Project Manager, did an excellent job - kept me completely informed and made sure we got our PTO on time to claim any tax credits in 2022. Overall, we are quite pleased with the system and it is performing as promised and sending power back to TXU.

Solar SME makes the process easy. There are a lot of regulations and steps to go through and having great communication made the process worry free. Andre and Ray were very quick to respond to all my questions and was always just a phone call away. Thanks team! My solar project is done and I’m happy! Be patient as the process takes time.

My experience with Solar SME started positively in June 2022. Ray C was helpful in answering my questions and setting me up with an 8kW grid-tied PV roof-mounted system that would meet my energy needs. Raffy S and Eddie W have been the project managers and helped answer my questions. Initial installation went as planned in September, 3 months after signing the contract as expected. Then things went awry. The system failed inspection primarily because of major design flaws that were not compliant with local code. This fault is partially on SME for not doing enough due diligence to design a code-compliant system, but it is also the fault of the permit office which approved a design that would fail their own requirements. After another 4 months (7 months total) involving at least 3 different electrical contractors, the project passed inspection, but is still not operating due to a disagreement with the local utility. My advice to anyone using a solar installer who relies on contracted labor is to press for experienced, local electricians who know the code particularities of your region or to research them yourself.

I had a wonderful experience with our installation form start to finish. It took a little longer, but that was due to the supply chain issues the globe is going through. So no ding on this team. Ryan managed my expectations throughout the journey.

Great quality, wonderful costumer service, attention to all my requests I had a wonderful experience with Solar SME, and very particularly with Dan M, my project manager, who always had time for me, who helped us get the best options for our needs, and who had the sensibility to work at our own timing, since we were remodeling.

Basem, the project manager, worked tirelessly to have my problem resolved: I had a squirrel damage. He sent his team to change a faulty panel due to the rodent damage as well as he made sure I had a good grade rodent protection installed on my system. He worked early on the weekend to oversee the project and make sure the mission was completed.

I really enjoyed my experience with Xavier L at SolarSME. He's been very transparent, fast, and overall has been a joy to work with. He was the first person to get us a quote, answered all our questions, and worked diligently to win our business.

Did a great job. Took a little longer than I like but, I guess it mostly because of the pandemic. I really appreciate them not trying to price gouge me and didn’t try to pressure me into buying. Just make sure that you request they install all CT’s if Enphase install so you can see what is exported and imported.

Alex listened to what we wanted and quickly adjusted the quotes as needed and was very responsive. He and SolarSME provided the best estimate, quality panels and certifications compared to the others we received. We appreciate all the help getting our solar project started. While we did not end up picking SolarSME for our solar project, Alex T. was awesome. He worked very hard to make sure we understood everything about the system he was selling and what it would me for us. Truly one of the best sales reps I have ever had the opportunity to work with.

Omar A. was the best! He really provided answers to all the questions I had ongoing on solar. Continued to follow up and clarify how each component and value it brings overtime. I was unable to move forward with the project due to other reasons, but I would be recommending Omar to all those who need to go solar.

I was incredibly happy with the consultation process that Solar SME presented me and my family with. All of my questions were addressed thoroughly and the representative, Mike, was very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with. We didn’t end up deciding on solar just yet but Solar SME offered a unique and incredibly appealing solution!

I bet much appreciate the job Mike did pulling together the right size system at the right price for us. I do wish that I could have been placed with a customer service person that spoke better English. This is probably my fault because I know that he is trying very hard to speak the best English but I just can't understand him. I asked that he communicate with me only in writing, which he is, and that helps.

Our condominium recently investigated the use of solar panel to reduce our electrical costs. Solar SME, leaded by Xavier L submitted an extremely comprehensive and professional proposal. In addition Mr. Lee was very responsive to our followup questions.

Excellent experience with Xavier L, one of their energy consultants. He took time explaining the different solar panel options and their pros and con. I felt very comfortable going through the quote process and his response time was outstanding, within minutes he had feedback. Solar SME provides excellent value for their service.

I am currently working with Solar SME to get my solar panels installed at my house. We are still in the middle of permitting, Design Approvals and Loan paperwork but the customer service provided by Alex, Steve and Zack has been amazing. They have answered all my questions so far and have been quick to response to any inquires. You are all doing a great job, glad I decided to go with Solar SME! :)

Xavier Has laid out a great timeline And everything is falling into place. My HOA and centerpoint process was smooth. Awaiting the panel installation. I’m extremely happy and highly recommend Solar SME and Xavier to family , friends, and neighbors.

My experience with SolarSME was mediocre. My salesperson Jim was very personable and designed a system customized to my property’s needs. First and foremost, SolarSME is very, very (very!) expensive. Even with an 800+ credit score, SolarSME’s interest rate was more than 600% higher than others, but I purchased my system outright with cash so I missed that red flag. The reason I agreed to their price premium over Tesla and others was because I trusted that SolarSME would provide a significantly better installation and support experience for 25 years vs. Tesla’s 10—so far, they haven’t… at all. First, I got final engineering designs back from SolarSME for approval. The first (obviously) didn’t meet building code so I rejected it. The second and third designs used my neighbors’ roof/ property to reach the system size promised in my sales presentation. After that fiasco, permits and applications to complete the build were filed late and incorrectly leading to significant delays. I tried to cancel my contract with SolarSME, but the cancellation fee was so egregious that I settled for SolarSME’s promise to assign my account to a new PM with additional oversight of SolarSME’s operations manager through project completion. I was assigned a new PM, Emir, who was better than Reuben but I continued to have issues and SolarSME’s senior management could care less and were nowhere to be found until after I filed a BBB complaint against them. It took SolarSME’s installers 3 tries on different 3 days to get the system installed and working correctly. Neither of the inspections went well—the first city inspector was displeased with some of their work but SolarSME’s technician was able to fix the deficiencies while the inspector waited impatiently and eventually signed off. The second city inspector left after arriving for the appointment and leaving due to SolarSME being a no show. SolarSME’s technician was there—he had just fallen asleep, literally, on the job. SolarSME says their price premium is because they use higher quality materials and have a proactive Compliance Team actively monitoring and identifying issues before the homeowner is even aware for 25 years. I don’t know about material quality, but in the first 25 *days,* there were half of a dozen system alarms and SolarSME’s “Compliance Team” was unaware and absent. To be honest, I have serious doubt they even exist. It took me several follow up calls and e-mails to get these alarms cleared, access to my own system via the various (clunky at best, faulty at worst) apps. and portals, the Pearl Certification documentation, and for both my SREC and MEA rebate application to be completed and submitted. SolarSME ultimately did fulfill their requirements but necessity and frequency of following up is not what I bargained for and not what was sold. When I raised my concerns to SolarSME’s senior management, they were argumentative and unhelpful, actually making matters worse. At the end of the day, my PM Emir tried his best but SolarSME’s management had obviously tied his hands behind his back. I don’t regret my decision to go solar but I wouldn’t choose SolarSME again. The experience isn’t what’s promised/ sold, their solution—while customizable—is very expensive and not as aesthetically pleasing compared to competitors, and was generally not what I expected from “subject matter experts.” We’ll see how reliable my system is over the next 25 years and if SolarSME can be bothered to clean my panels, maintain, and monitor/ repair my system as agreed.

Mr. R do a great job in providing excellent tech support. We had a wonderful experience with Solar SME. They worked hard to get the project finished. We would gladly work with Solar SME again.

My system has been running since 2020, but required some repairs recently. While there were some initial problems getting in touch with someone, once I had their attention, they worked really hard to make sure everything was fixed to my satisfaction. System is back to 100% and I'm happy with the outcome.

Although we still have yet to complete the process of installing the solar panels Josh L has been great to work with. Answering any questions about the timing and the process. Look forward to continuing to work with him.

Solar SME installed complete home solar system. Worked with Ryan F(sr project manager) and he is very responsive, coordinated very well throughout the project and made project complete on time.

It took a little longer than we had hoped to get the install started, but once they did, all the individuals we dealt with from David A to the install people were very professional and courteous. Wonderful to work with.
