Straightforward Solar Process

Solar Energy World strives to make the solar panel installation process as smooth and simple as possible for its customers:

  • Energy audit — first, a Solar Energy World representative will provide a free solar analysis and share information about incentives, payment options, and more.
  • Site survey — once the customer has received an analysis and decided to move forward, a certified Solar Energy World technician will visit the home to confirm measurements and energy savings, as well as ensure that the appropriate permits have been acquired.
  • Permitting and design — then, Solar Energy World will complete any necessary paperwork.
  • Solar installation — after that, the company will start on the installation, which is usually completed within two to three days.
  • Final inspection and activation — once the system is installed, Solar Energy World will set up the final inspection with the appropriate municipality or utility company and ensure the customer's system is properly connected to the grid.

Variety of Payment Options

Solar Energy World currently offers three different payment options: outright purchase, loan, and PPA.

Customers who choose to pay for their system in full or take advantage of Solar Energy World's financing will have the opportunity to cash in on Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) and other federal and state incentives. The average return-on-investment for customers who purchase their systems is typically around 125 percent within 5 to 7 years. In 20 years, homeowners who purchase solar can expect to see a 500 percent ROI.

Customers who choose to go the PPA route can have a system installed on their roof for $0 down. Solar PPA customers will simply pay for the energy being produced by the panels on their roof at a rate of at least 20 percent less than their current monthly electric bill.

High Quality Solar Power Equipment

Solar Energy World has stated that it only installs high-efficiency, best-in-class solar PV panels engineered in Germany, China, and the United States. The company mostly uses solar cells from Silfab, LONGi Solaris, Hanwha Q CELLS, and REC Solar, with inverters from SolarEdge, Enphase, and Fronius.

Both ground mount and rooftop solar systems are available, and each system is custom designed by Solar Energy World's in-house engineers to fit the customer's unique energy needs.

Remote System Monitoring

Solar Energy World remotely monitors every solar system it installs to ensure that the systems are performing correctly. If there is ever a problem with a customer's system, the company will alert them and schedule a service to get things worked out.

In addition to remote monitoring service, Solar Energy World provides each customer with access to monitoring technology so they can check in on their system production and electricity consumption themselves. Customers can access the platform from anywhere in the world using a web-enabled device such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer and see how much power their system is generating in real-time, as well as how much electricity the system has produced over its life.

Comprehensive Warranty

Solar Energy World provides a comprehensive warranty on the installation of all the solar equipment it installs. The length of the installation warranty is dependent upon the warranty of the equipment manufacturer and goes up to 25 years.

Panel and inverter manufacturers provide a warranty on the performance of the solar panels and inverters.

Paperwork Assistance

Solar Energy World takes care of all paperwork and permits for its customers to make sure that the process is hassle-free and the customer receives all tax credits, rebates, and grants that they are entitled to.

Experienced In-House Installers

Solar Energy World does not outsource any of its installations or use subcontractors; instead, all of the company's installers work directly for and are accountable to Solar Energy World to ensure that customers receive superior service. The company's solar installers and crew leaders have had years of prior experience and received intensive solar panel installation training.

Further, during the solar panel installation process, crews are supervised by a Solar Energy World NABCEP-certified solar designer and installer, as well as a Solar Energy World licensed master electrician.

Referral Program

Solar Energy World offers a referral program that even non-customers can participate in. Those who are customers of Solar Energy World can receive $500 for each referral who installs a solar system that is 6 kW or larger and $300 for each referral who installs a 4 kW to 5 kW system.

Non-customers will receive $250 for each referral who installs a solar system that is 6 kW or larger and $150 for each referral who installs a 4 kW to 5 kW system. There is no cap on referrals, so an individual may refer as many people as they wish.

We have had some issues because something broke and they had to come here and I don't know exactly what broke but electric bill went back to normal for about three or four months before they came in and fixed it. I think it's broken again because I saw my electric bill go back up, I think they have some kind of system that kinda notifies them with things are broken. I haven't heard from anyone but I'm hoping they will come out and realize something is broken without me having to call, but I haven't heard from them yet. I just want them to do little bit more of a preemptive of maintenance before things will go back to working, if there was an issue that I would like to see them catch whatever the faulty devices quicker instead of having to wait two months.

Overall it has been good but I've had some issues with the installation. The subcontractors that came up had to do some underground wiring but they didn't do a very good job with that. I'll have to reach out to Solar Energy World to come and correct the situation. Other than that it is a little early to tell how much I'll save, but it appears that I'll be paying less money for my electricity bill. Apparently it takes about a year to really determine how much you're actually saving. I wish that they had a way to let the solar panels produce my electricity when my power company is out or not working'

We had already seen information from other solar companies, but their numbers were all fictitious. That's why when the salesman for Solar Energy World came around and showed us good numbers, we went with it. Installation was odd. I don't think they gave us a date for when they would show up. We just woke up one day and they were working in our roof. They stayed and made sure that things were finished before wrapping up the last check. They had to come back on the next day since there was a component, a cellular modem, that was harder to install. For the most part it went well, but one of the electricians almost burst the geothermal in our house. They didn't ask us if we had anything buried or checked with our utilities to notify them or anything. They just went and put rods in the ground right next to it. Luckily enough it didn't break. Still, it reduced my energy bill for the month of January, that has helped a lot since it has been really cold

I felt pretty confident in the sales representative that I talked to, so I just went with it. The management team was very professional. They came out to do the survey and kept me informed throughout the entire project. Afterwards, they also followed up and made sure that everything was still going well. The installation was very easy. It took them 3 days to do it but they did that despite the fact it was rainy most of the time. They just got the job done. They had electricians and installers putting down the ground lines and everything. They did everything well and were very efficient. I've seen some benefits to having the panels, they do very well when it's sunny out. I can't control the weather though and lately it has been unusually cloudy. I'm still very pleased with it.

I did research on some solar energy magazines and websites. From that it just seemed like they offered the best service for our area and in the country in general, so I signed up. So far everything has been good, the installation itself just took one day. The one problem was that the process, from the time I started the paperwork to the time everything was installed, took an extremely long time. I'm still waiting on a post installation that was promised to me...Still, my electric bill from BG&E has already been cut by one third. Of course, this time of the year the sun is minimal, but once we get into the summer months I expect to save a lot more.

Their representative explained everything that I had questions about. The installation process was great: 5 days installing a 78 panels system. They put the rails down and put all the panels in place. In July and August we produced more energy than what we were using. We haven't seen an electric bill in 3 months and that's amazing because we had currents going into the grid. The only problem I had once is that one day there were some delays involving my wife getting information and they would have to be forwarded to me. If only they could set two email addresses per account that would be faster.

Dealing with project management was very good. It was a well organized project and I was well informed from start to finish. They contacted me, scheduled it, made the appointment time, and if anything had to change they did a good job following through with us. Installation was very methodical and I was very pleased with them. My only complain is that it took a long time to get it started because they seemed to be overbooked. Once they got started though they finished in the set amount of time. As for savings, I went from paying an average of $300 a month to $110 in the past year. I only wish they advertised better or offered more rewards for referrals. Since it's a great product and it helps the environment, I'd like to see Solar Energy World engage more people so that they make the change. I'm totally satisfied with it.

I received something in the mail from Solar Energy. I had never heard of them, but they got me thinking so I looked it up. From the feedback I saw, it looked stronger and better than its competitors so I contacted them, set up an appointment, and talked to them. The people there all seemed to know what they were doing. So far according to the meter they put on the house the system has generated more electricity than what we use. I recommended Solar Energy World for a presentation at the local rotary club and they made a really good impression. It was extremely valuable for them. I only had one issue with the contractor. He damaged the corporate line at the end of the house because he thought it was a root. But it was not a big deal, they resolved the issue.

The installation was seamless and went smoothly. My bills lowered but I put in a lot of money in the beginning so I won't see any savings until a few years later. The experience in general has been good, but I'd like them to be explain some things better. I remember them saying something like the federal government would give us this money for green energy. They did not say it was a tax right up. Then we ended up getting it financed through the bank and the rate ended up being 14.75%. I thought that was ridiculous. We had money in the bank so we just paid it. I would have been paying this thing for 20 years if I hadn't done that.

We went to a presentation and Solar Energy World was the most professional looking. The project management team was good. They drew out the layout and told me what to expect. The installation was pretty straightforward and timely. They told me they were going to install and had it completed in the time frame they gave me. I do have a lower utility cost, it dropped about 80% but I thought the bill was going to be zero. The one problem I experienced was the fact that some of my siding was damaged during installation I think. They said it had been damaged before they came, so I went ahead and fixed it. They corrected that a few weeks later and sent me a check to cover the cost. I just wish they had taken the responsibility a little sooner you know. Other than that I was happy with them.

I think they need a written detailed summary. The salesman was good, but he gave us a lot of information, and it was all verbal. Nothing went quite the way it was told to us. There were a lot of actions involved in setting up the panels, which included the county and my utility company. They should've just provided a summary of what the exact process would be, and who to call in case something didn't go as planned. I would have recognized the errors, because I know that Solar Energy World was not involved in all of these situations. Plus, I told them I was going to be out of town on vacation, and they still kept sending me emails. Besides that, the salesman was great, and I love my system. I love the way it works! I just think they should have better instructions for their customer on how the process really works. That would've relieved a lot of stress.

Customer support was very communicative and responsive to inquiries I've had. The installation took place over 2-3 days and it was fairly straightforward. There were a few minor errors, but after the install they cleaned up. One thing I don't like is that the data from my panels is a little disorganized online, so it's hard to understand. There was also a small discrepancy from the advertised solar production and the actual production.

When I called customer service, they couldn't actually answer my questions, they just sent me something about how to set it up. The installation process went flawlessly. The materials they used are good quality, and we don't see any flaws in what they used. We had a little problem with the installation. There was some bad weather and it was hard for them to get up and down and they ended up digging up parts of my yard. But after they got it in they came back with landscaping people and put a lot of grass seed and everything in that area of my yard probably goes better than the rest of it. It's saving us a lot of money. We really liked the sales rep Patrick who worked with us to get our panels.

I went online and searched through energy companies before picking them. They have been excellent. I've never had any kind of issues with them. The people that came to install things were very professional and courteous. They made sure that everything was cleaned up after they were done. We haven't seen a great deal of improvement in our energy usage because the weather has just been really cold. The electric bill has gone down a bit, so I'm sure that as the days get longer and the sun comes out, it's going to give us good savings. We're perfectly satisfied with it.

One of the bigger reasons why I picked them was that the installation was free and there was no big upfront cost. They have been great and explained everything to me. If I ever need to contact them, they respond quickly. I was not here during the installation but from what I heard it was all done very quickly. It took them less than a day to do it. I compared, researched online and picked them because they had the best price and a lot of positive testimonies from other customers. I think they've done a good job. They are generally very responsive and knowledgeable. They answered any question that came up promptly. When it came to the forms and tax information though they were a little slow. The installation was a pretty efficient process and it went without a problem. Currently it's saving us around 900 ' 1000 kilowatts of energy a day. In the long term it can save us a lot of money.

I was a little disappointed. Another thing is that the salesman mentioned that they would take care of letting us know about the information for the tax credits and the amount that DTE would be paying to us. I haven't had any issues with them. The installation process was perfect. I'm just paying for the panels and they cancel out my electric bills. The one issue that I had was the guy who signed me up. He tried to make some promises that he couldn't keep. Once I signed the papers and committed he didn't come back or said anything. Just make sure your sales reps don't promise things that they can't follow through with.

The service and installation have been good. The only thing is that we weren't notified with enough time about the time when the installation was going to happen. There were a couple situations where I had to kind of call back and follow up with them because I was waiting on things and they they didn't call me when they were supposed to and it took a long time to get it worked out. I had an issue where our panels weren't working properly for a while, and didn't send someone out. Customer service is not very responsive, but everything works fine. Everything has been good. The installation went smoothly and it looks great, the wiring is not even visible from the road. The only thing I'd change is the style of bracket that they use, that way it won't be noticeable at all. Thanks to this we had a surplus of energy last month.

They were going around calling people and I since they seemed reasonable in terms of ideas and prices, I decided to get them. I haven't had any problems with them so far. One good thing about it was that recently, during a big storm, a lot of people lost electricity in their houses. I didn't lose mine and was very happy about that.

Low price for high quality work. Installation happened in one day. Very helpful through most of the process, including applying for the MEA grant. -1 Star because it took a long time from signature to turn-on (might not be Solar Energy World's fault), and some communications difficulties regarding SRECs and permits.

I haven''t had their service for a long time so I haven''t really saved some energy, I still have to observe, and up today I haven''t received a bill yet. The only thing I would like to mention is that the installers did not clean the area they worked on. I hope they could bring their own cleaning materials after they work at a client''s house.

I was under the impression that I would have no bills whatsoever. However, that's not exactly how it turned out. I still get a small bill from my electric power company. I was surprised by that. I would have liked it if they had been clear about that possibility from the beginning.

The salesman explained everything extremely well and the price was better than what I had seen. The installation went reasonably well, it just took them a long time to get out. After that everything went extremely well. Despite having a relatively small set of panels, we hardly had any electric bill for the whole year.
