Overall – we are very pleased with Auric and the system that we installed. The sales rep was very responsive to all of our questions and was extremely helpful after the sale. The Denver based Auric team was easy to work with and addressed all of our questions in a timely manner. There were a couple of hick-ups with install but were taken care of within an acceptable time frame. Every person we came into contact was extremely professional and really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. My only concern with this process was the communication of Auric personal between each other (which meant a couple of issues may not have occurred if there was better communication). Recommendation - make sure you stay involved in your (I would say this with any company). Our system is now running beautifully and we would highly recommend Auric!

Look no further. This is the Solar Company for you. In Idaho, there is one best solar company. That's Auric. Let me tell you how I know this. I did a mountain of research on the various installers and their vendors. I looked at what each installer promised, and what they actually did. I talked with actual customers. On all counts, Auric came out on top. I had my 9.3 kW system installed in early November, 2017. This was important because I was able to take advantage of the 30% Federal tax credit, the $1,500 Idaho state tax credit, and the 0% down for 12 months that Auric still offers. I can take 30% depreciation over 5 years. The incentives are pretty amazing. On the customer service side, I had the best experience imaginable thanks to David B, who managed the process from start to finish. If I had a question--whether it had to do with a panel, the system, Idaho Power details, financing, tax credits--I could call David and he would always reply fast. Eight months later, David is still answering calls fast. There is definitely service after the sale. If you are wondering about solar, read up on it. In Idaho, very few of us are solar adopters. But those who are become solar enthusiasts for a few reasons. First, we know this is the right thing to do. Second, ever since my solar collectors caught up with my energy use in March, 2018 (yes, during the bleak Idaho inversions--the sun still powered my house), my Idaho Power bill has been $5 per month. Well, $5.27 with tax. Third, look at what Auric is doing. Don't worry about talk of tariffs on solar panels made in China. All of Auric's panels are made in the U.S. They do everything at the highest quality. For example, the electricians required for this job, and their coordination with Idaho Power and the city of Boise, blew my mind. David made sure this was a seamless process with no hiccups. I also needed a roof. David B came through again with a top recommendation for a roofer--Blue Goat Roofing. The minute the roof was approved, the solar panels came on. In a sentence--I am thrilled with Auric Solar. Talk with David, and once you sign off on your part of the agreement, David will take it from there. Painless. If you want to ask me any questions, message me through this site. I'm happy to chat with you. This is a big decision--and it's the right decision.

If I hadn't gone to Harvard Law, I would have been the fourth generation owner of a major midwest building contractor. My wife and I used Auric Solar for a full installation on our 1915 house in Salt Lake City. We worked directly with Auric on all issues from product selection to roof reinforcement and stabilization to installation through coordination with and hook-up to our public service company. (The power company guys who were changing over our meter told us that we couldn't have made a better choice--they don't have problems with Auric installations and equipment!) Auric was very good to work with, both in the sales room and on our roof. We are about one full year into the use of the product now and are delighted to see our monthly electric company bill which shows our reduced usage AND our monthly credit for the amount of electricity sold by us to the company.

Auric Solar was super helpful! Spent time to discuss all the ins and outs of solar - I had no idea so much was involved! I had several other solar bids and instead of bashing the other solar companies (like every other person did) they took the time to explain why they chose the products they did and why their pricing was positioned as it was. Plus, their service warranties were WAY better than any other solar company I reviewed. No one else offered a yearly check up or guaranteed their work IN WRITING like Auric did. No gimmicks, just straight up facts. I'm very happy with my choice to go with Auric!!

UPDATE for my previous review: To resolve our dispute with Auric, they came to us with a couple of settlement options to compensate for the difference in the financing terms that we were told from the salesman vs. the actual financing terms they had and for the fraud we experienced (though the police nor Auric can’t prove there was or wasn’t fraud.) We agreed with one of the settlement options and are keeping our solar. We feel this dispute was resolved the best it could be considering all the circumstances involved and feel it was a fair resolution. We appreciate that Auric gave us options, provided good customer service, and took responsibility for what the salesman told us. We were always happy from the beginning of the project with the how the solar was installed. We feel the quality of the solar panels is the best available and we like how they were setup so that each one works individually, that the installation was professionally done and looks great and that we received great customer service throughout the installation process of the project as well. Just a word of warning about Docusign if you are looking to do solar on your home or use any kind of financing for any project for that matter. Make sure and take precautions for fraud possibilities through Docusign and make sure you receive the approved loan documents for the project, before you sign any kind of contract for any project that you will be using financing for. Of course, read through the fine print of the financing to make sure you understand the financing terms before the project contract is binding and before any kind of installation starts on your project. And then make sure you have a copy of these loan documents that you sign in your possession before the project contract is final. Also, if you are going to sign through Docusign, make sure all documents come to you through your email and only sign on your home computer that has a static IP address. Do not sign from any mobile device of your own or the salesman’s device like a smart phone or tablet. And when you sign, use your finger (if your home computer has a touch screen) or your mouse to write out your signatures rather than choosing a digital signature font. I would even go so far as to say to call customer service of the company you are working with after each document is signed to verify they only record of documents you signed that you also have in your possession and nothing more.

We installed our solar panels with Auric in September 2015. Our entire experience, from initial contact through this year's annual inspection has been outstanding. We had one issue last year with a small leak and their response (and that of the roofing company they use) was prompt and professional. Would absolutely recommend this company.

We have done two large commercial projects that total ten million to build. They are working flawlessly and producing at what was represented. Great company to provide post install service. Should have done this sooner. We now save over 500,000 dollars per year.

Auric also did the same thing to me. I had a problem with the install. There were things that were supposed to be done when the install happened, and they were never completed. I am still having issues with my solar system. But the thing that burns me the most is the transparency issue with the solar loan credit. I could not borrow extra money to cover the money down when they assured me I would get 30% of the loan money back on the next income tax year. It came and my tax specialist stated that was not how it worked. I then did not have the money to get the system down paid. I am struggling to make the new payment with the bank which is well out of my income ability, and their bank has destroyed my credit making it impossible to get a refinance on my home to cover their loan. Now I am watching that bill get bigger and bigger as they refused to get the collateral for the loan nor have they been able to refinance us. So far not a good run for me.

MyAuricSolarExperience: TERRIBLE Denver, CO

They strung me along (for as long as they could) and ripped me off $500.00 before closing the doors!!! I signed a contract with Auric on 10/9/2020 for panels and additional $500.00 for critter guards. I was adamantly promised my panels would be installed late December. 2 weeks prior to my panels being installed there was so much confusion (scheduled dates not showing up for installs and over 10 unreturned Voice Mails and Emails) regarding my install, I finally got my "Project Manager" (Eric H) to answer his cell number. He told me he was no longer with Auric since he was one of "Half the company...27 people who was just laid off". I was so uncomfortable I even tried to get out of my contract and my salesman (David H) lied to me on the phone for what he (and my first "project manager") verbally and adamantly guaranteed regarding install dates "I don’t remember telling you that…that’s between you and him (my project manager)…I am staying out of it...that’s life, right?". I was furious!!! My salesman even asked me if I still had the Auric Energy sign in my yard. I told him no (I took it down not wanting anyone I knew doing business with them) and he told me he might stop by shortly to solicit my neighbors, no joke!!! It was soooooo SAD! After My panels were eventually installed and turned on over 2 months later than promised (2/24/2020), I called my second "project manager" (Victor D, most un enthused person EVER) asking when my critter guards are going to be installed. His reply (I recorded this call): "I am going to be honest with you there are a lot of things going on lot of changes and I am not even sure if we are going to be able to purchase critter guards at this point. I will get back to you tomorrow". I Immediately called the Corporate office in Utah and spoke with the Director of Customer Support (Krystal K). At my request, She emailed me back after our conversation stating: "I expect the refund check ($500.00) should be sent within the next 2-4 weeks." After installing my own critter Guards (on 3/16/2020) that I ordered from Amazon (and noticing the Centennial office Out Of business on BBB), I called Customer Service again (I recorded this call as well) raising concerns for unfinished work (unsealed Fast Jack Flashing underneath the panels against my brand new roof they neglected to do). The same Director Of Customer service verified "... there were problems with that (Denver) office" (confirming by naming people I had dealt with) and it has been closed down. She then went on to tell me how she referred her friends in the Longmont Area to Auric and had to apologize for the experience they too received. On 3/20/2020 After noticing Auric West Vally Utah office was listed on BBB as out of business Auric was not picking up the phone. I Emailed them back asking them to at least send me a "screenshot illustrating this (critter guard reimbursement) is in place.": I received a reply (without any illustration verifying as asked):"Yes Auric is still here, I verified that you are on our finance departments list for reimbursement for the critterguard. As it stated in the email below if you don’t receive the reimbursement by the 1st or 2nd week in April please let us know." On 4/15/2020 10:49 AM: I emailed them back "I still have not received my reimbursement for something I paid for and am asking again someone at least send me a screenshot or some form of proof that this has been sent to me!" there was no reply so I opened a complaint with the BBB on 4/20/220. The BBB emailed me on 4/21/2020: "We confirmed the business was going out of business at the end of February." AURIC LIED TO ME!!!! Since then, I found out they DID NOT REGISTER TO WARRANT MY PANELS WITH PANASONIC!!!! After my install there was absolutely no follow up. They did not provide me any warranty certificate nor did they instruct me to follow any instructions do so. After calling and questioning local installers what to do if any issues occur with my panels I was urged to register them ASAP so I had to climb on my roof, photograph their cereal number and register online. What a pathetic experience.

We had a representative come to our home for an estimate. The rep was friendly, informative and low pressure. We ended up not going with Auric because they were more expensive than the other quotes we received. They did have a few extra customer service perks included in their price but I didn’t feel they were necessary.

Hi Ava, thank you for letting us know our representative upheld our values as a company. It's too bad that you felt our in-house customer service and support wasn't worth anything to you. For what it's worth, if you ever need assistance, we do offer Field Service diagnostics in case the solar contractor you chose doesn't meet your service expectations in the future. We're always happy to help!

Auric big sales pitch is Rocky Mountain Power has high prices and is going way up. They said, get solar, and you will lock in the 92% savings on your bills. They also say you will get large amount of money from your tax. I spent $47,000, 27 solar panels, ( from what I have seen we have almost twice what I have seen on other homes) worth of Auric solar, for my 1,500 sf house after a year I found out: #1: We have to use Rocky Mt every single day, they mix the use of two companies at same time. So when RMP prices goes up so will my bills. The sales pitch tells us that we use Rocky MT lines, but not their power. #2: They said I will save 92% on all my bills, but for several months this summer I got bills over $300. #3: You don't get money from the government for installing solar, you just get to use solar as a tax deduction. #4: There IS a cap to your savings. They told me I used too much power. I was told, yes you can pay us almost $50,000 for solar, but don't use too much. This was told to me a year after we paid in full. #5 I was told that your extra solar energy can be rolled over to the next month, I asked if RMP ( Rocky Mountain Power) Buys back extra power, they do not. But I was not told that your extra power is, for some unknown reason, dropped once a year and then you have to start all over again. I have filed a complaint with a lawyer and the BBB. But Auric has not tried to work with me. When I went in to Auric and showed them my bills, I asked if I was getting a 92% savings, they said "no". Auric turned off my solar for a few weeks last summer and said they would give me $75 for that time frame but never sent it. They turned it off because they said something was wrong. But when they came back to turn it on, they didn't do anything then they said nothing was wrong. Auric offered me a device to regulate my power so I wouldn't get power when I needed it the most. They offered to put a different device on my house to see what was causing my high bills, I already know I ran my air conditioner. I ran it because I was told I would never get a bill over $10-20 . I was told we do not get power if RMP is down. Even if some parts of the company is good, the bottom line is we paid a lot of money and are not getting the discounts promised.

I was working with Auric Energy to install a whole-house battery backup in my garage in the spring of 2020 and they took a $10,400 deposit from my checking account via ACH. At the time, they were booked out for some time. After a month or so, I hadn't heard from anyone so I tried to reach out. All of the phone numbers and email addresses were disconnected. Their website was gone. My lawyer sent a demand letter and didn't get a response. DO NOT give anyone money via ACH. Use a credit card so if they screw you over, you can at least reverse the charges.

What a huge rip off. The promised the moon, but didn't deliver. Now we are stuck with a solar bill and an electric bill. This is even AFTER we went from electric range/dryer to gas. Their customer service after the install was despicable. Garbage company, in it to just rip off customers. The only "benefit" is that the equipment seems to be of good quality.

"According to information in BBB files, this business is no longer in business...." Auric has gone out of business (at least their residential side, I believe they are still doing commercial) and sold off their residential contracts to 1solar also based in Utah. The last correspondence I received was early February and radio silence ever since. I can't get ahold of anyone at Auric. Emails are bouncing back and cells phone numbers are no longer in service.

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR SOLAR INSTALL. Absolutely terrible 6 month experience. Project is 3 month behind schedule. Multiple lies and missed deadlines. I currently have very nice solar panels on my garage that were never connected to the grid and a dangerous, muddy trench in my yard that has been open for over a month. Complete incompetence and lack of response to approximately 10 messages, emails and phone calls.

It started out ok with the sales rep till the installation. The project manager did not communicate any information and we had to go through the sales rep. Apparently, the sales rep got upset we were asking him questions because the project manager was not answering us. The sales rep sent a nasty text intended for someone else but came to us instead. When we contacted corproate hey more less said "well talk to him, but the system is paid not sure what we can do". Over all we are not happy with this companies customer service but are stuck with them as we have already paid.

The Auric home set up consultant told me they could put in panels that would still give me power even if the power company was down. This takes a bit more hardware on each panel, rather than one big controller at the main electric panel. My neighbor put in maybe $15,000 worth of panels. they told her this "Stand alone" power supply option wasn't available. She should complain to the BBB. Also check prices from small solar electric companies. Quite a bit lower. Search under Rocky Mountain Power co. approved vendors.

Way over priced. I was quoted $47,000 for a installed 10 Kw system for our 3000 sq ft house. You can buy a 10 Kw system from a wholesaler online for $14,000.00 and pay $1500 to have it installed. Don't get caught up in the hype that you will save all this money. The only people coming out ahead is Auric Solar. Very unethical company.
