Honestly, I would not give this company any stars. After being a customer for 7+ years I would not recommend AMP Smart Home Alarm to my worst enemy! It's been 4+ month of hell dealing with their customer service people trying to cancel their service. We sent all information their customer service department requested and they still refuse to cancel. Every person we spoke with in customer service is rude and disrespectful. Had this company been accommodating, we would have considered continuing their service at our new location. It is troubling that whomever owns AMP Smart isn't trying to better their company. So disheartening, maybe if you treated your customers with respect you'd be able to keep them.

Predatory and frustrating experience. Canceling requires mailing a physical letter—no online or phone option—which feels intentionally designed to trap customers into automatic renewals. Their contracts are especially concerning when dealing with senior citizens. Equipment is unreliable, and customer service and technical support are extremely difficult to reach or get help from. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

The company where you in without pay they continuously work you for months and months even you a little advances here there on paper they’re getting rich but in reality they’re never paying you anything. I left the company after six months with them owing me over $10,000 after making up an excuse where a customer asked for a battery back up system so they charge me back $8000 on a deal that I only make $1900 commission. The company is all about herself they wear before you start with this company. The owners are out for themselves only. I do not care about anyone else and I was in management.

AMP customer for 6+ years. My monthly service has nearly doubled in the that time. Tried to cancel but I had 3 months left on the contract. To cancel the auto-renewal, I was instructed to reply to an email that they never sent. Now my contract has automatically renewed and they are not honoring my previous request even though it was documented in their system.
Reading other reviews, this does not seem uncommon.
I suspect this is common enough to warrant a class action lawsuit.

DO NOT sing a contract with this company!! I have been stuck in my contract for 10 years now. I trusted the polite salesman who sold me the system and did not read the fine print as closely as I should have. A little over 5 years of use we decided we no longer wanted the system. We called to cancel. We had already auto renewed for another 5 years. You have to contact them in writing several month before the auto renew date to cancel. We did not do that. When I said I would just stop paying, I was threatened with lawsuits and even bigger charges due to breach of contract. I gave into my fate and continued to pay monthly for 5 more years. I sent them a notice of cancelation in fall of 2024. I got a response that they had received my notice and said no further action was required. Guess what, they went ahead and auto renewed my 5 year contract. I called and spoke with someone today. A Lizzy at Ext 2059. She was very unprofessional and even tried to gaslight me about the safety of my family. She told me several times, "Don't you want to keep your family safe!" I was livid and wanted to come unglued. I asked you speak with a supervisor. She refused to transfer the call. She said they would have to find the letter and send it to the cancelation department. I kept asking her why that didn't happen when I sent it to them 9 months ago.
I have never experienced such horrible customer service from a company ever. Once they get you, they do not want to let you go. Keep that in mind if you are considering them.

If I could give negative stars I would! DON'T use them. Received a new panel for our alarm system and stopped working little after a year. Told us we need to purchase a new panel at $600 and that we should have purchased a warranty, which I was under the assumption that we were. (That was my fault assuming we had the same terms on the new contract that we had with our old one.) The door bell camera works when it feels like it. I see more bugs than people who are actually at my door. We have been with them since 2017 and you would think they would want to keep their older clients happy. Not the case. the last couple people I spoke to with customer service are rude, uncaring and condescending. I will never recommend them to anyone. They were great in the beginning, but now they are a horrible company. I will unfortunately continue to pay them until my contract is up, but I will not purchase a new panel from them and will pay for another alarm company to monitor my home at the same time.

I was with AMP Smart for six years. Service was awful — sensors failed repeatedly, garage camera almost always offline. After moving May 23, 2025, I emailed on May 24 to cancel, called repeatedly, and got no response. They claimed no cancellation department exists, said I’d have to pay to leave, and promised a call back that never happened. No agreement copy sent either.
They don’t allow verbal cancellation and there’s no customer cancellation department.
This company did not perform its contract. I'm mailing certified notice, disputing future charges, and ready to take legal action for breach of contract. Avoid AMP Smart unless you want to be trapped, misled, and ignored.

Series of issues from the get go.
I was a previous customer looking to reconnect my system. The company has no record of my equipment or address, yet I paid them under contract for 3 years...very concerning. It turns out my equipment/account was wrongly set up under my sister's name.
There's been lots of back of forth between customer service, myself and my sister - we've been fully cooperative, and trying to get system/account setup properly. A technician came out and left because he said my account wasn't setup correctly.
The last straw for me was when they told me they couldn't move forward with my account because there was a past balance (from last month) and that we had to pay. Neither my sister or myself have had service. Confusing and Frustrating! I'm just done with this company, stay away and avoid the headache.

I purchased a security system and solar panels through Amp. Soooooo sorry I let these people in my house.
I have called to talk to someone regarding my issues with the contract on my solar panels and I usually wait long periods of time waiting for someone who will not answer because I have asked to talk to a manager or and being told someone will get back to me. I have been lied to about the solar panel tax reform monies I would get back at tax time. They wrote my contact up based on me giving the monies back to reduce my monthly payments. I never got a dime back at tax time due to I am not considered earned income. I have been lied to in the beginning that my panels would be covered in case of fire. I was contacted by one of their representatives to finance, paying off my panels when I told them I was not going to refinance my panels due to the interest rate. They went ahead and tried to finance it thereselves. I found out by being informed on my credit report.
Buyers BEWARE! Stay away from this company, so tired of companies like this doing customers wrong.

We had solar panels put in on the back of our house thinking this is going to be so great which it still may be we don't know we had it put in a while back and we still have yet to have anyone inspected so we can get it going so actually we've just got it sitting on the roof doing nothing because no one's come out to inspect it so the company keeps telling me it's out of their hands and lg&e is just way behind that is fine but I can't give a recommendation to my friends that want to go solar because I don't know if it's any good or not it's not working so until then I can't give a reference all I can say is right now it's terrible because it's just sitting on my roof and has been since I put it in so if you use this company just be prepared to have solar sitting there doing nothing for longer than you ever expected maybe one day I'll get to save some money I don't know. I spoke with someone down the road that had solar put all across the front of their house and he said within a week someone inspected his and he's been saving money since I wished I had went with someone else but it's too late so all I can do is wait

The equipment barely made it a year before having to call tech support every month, every time the internet disconnected due to down lines, maintenance, or even heavy weather the system would need to be reset from AMP smarts side. I rode out the contract and had called them in April of 2023 to cancel service. Paid off the amount needed in order to cancel and was told a removal team would call me back. When calling them back to schedule a removal i was informed that is not something they do, so I removed the equipment myself. I then get an invoice 3 months later. My contract had been renewed since I never sent in an email or letter, which I was never informed about by the customer service team when paying off my balance to cancel. So I immediately contact them, get told by customer service and got a reply. I was told by the representative that was all that was needed and have now been sent another invoice, told my contract has auto renewed for 5 years, and that if I want to cancel its going to be $1500. When speaking to both customer service and loyalty team no one will assist in figuring this out or even what to do since I no longer have the equipment.

BEWARE this company and their sleezy sales tactics, false promises, and overall disregard for customer satisfaction. The salesman (I believe Jack) who sold us the system several years ago made all kinds of promises of what their system could do, then pressured me into signing the contract ASAP because his tech guy was leaving town tomorrow morning but could be on his way over if I signed immediately, leaving me no opportunity to read the contract. Major mistake. READ EVERY SINGLE DETAIL OF THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN. He also failed to mention the 3 day cancellation period.
Nothing we were promised about the systems capabilities came to fruition. For example, the alarm is “so sensitive” that if it hears any glass breaking, it would notify the police in case it was someone breaking a window. When my son accidentally shattered a bowl, right by the alarm system, nothing happened.
Also, we ended up moving to a town where AMP does not even service and they still refuse to let us out of our contract. Then most recently, they raised our monthly rate without any kind of notice. After reviewing our contract, this should not have happened. But I guess only their customers have to abide by their contract, and they are free to do whatever they please.
These people are wolves only looking to make a profit and with no regard for anyone’s actual safety.

Tori, we are sorry to hear about this! As far as the glass break sensor in the panel, the sound of glass breaking is usually within a specific frequency range that other materials might not fall in. So, if the bowl was made of ceramic and not glass, it shouldn't cause the sensor to go off. To address the issue of the move, we have several options available for your new home. I signed a contract with AmpSmart while in brain fog from Chemo, menopause, and on narcotic pain medication- while home alone. The services rarely records events - last was January 4,2023! and I’ve swiped them all previously, had a technician come out who didn’t install the backyard outdoor camera. I’ve had many episodes of keypad and cameras not working. Especially not recording events. They’ve not sent a tech back out. I’ve had to sell my home due to Cancer and mounting debt; they’re refusing to let me out of my contract! They’re telling me I owe them ~$1500!!! Explain that I don’t have that type of money as I am selling my home and they/you don’t care. I’m selling to a corporation so they are not willing to purchase the alarm and I don’t need it as I am moving in with family- because I can’t afford to live alone. I’m sickened by this as they have no compassion and don’t care that there systems don’t work. I would think being heavily medicated and not in correct frame of mind would allow service cancellation- but they’re refusing. Well if I have to file bankruptcy or die they won’t get any money! I’m closing July 5th- AmpSmart can still make this right! I’ve contacted BBB & Channel 9 News would probably eat this up! I wonder how much business would be impacted? Knowing you DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS, but just the green they send in!

I've had ADT, Brinks, and AMP Smart and by far, AMP Smart is the worst. Their equipment is janky. I've had issues with my doorbell since day one. It's been replaced and still doesn't function properly. The garage door opener hasn't worked for months and I honestly don't have the time to sit on the phone with them while they have me climb on a latter to troubleshoot it. Every time they come out for their janky equipment, it's $35. Also, the salesperson asked me to be a show home for the product and I would get $5 off each month after the first year until I was back down to the $55 I was paying with ADT. She lied. And instead, they have raised it $5 each year. I took the sign out of my yard (which was a requirement for the deal) and have told everyone to NOT use this company.
I've had to troubleshoot every device they installed. It's to the point where I don't even care anymore. I'm paying $78.99 a month because I have to. I wish I could get out of this ridiculous contract and go back to ADT.
STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN!

I have never seen worst service in my life. They locked me in a 5 year contract by year 3 the system stopped working and when I called they said they could not service it unless I renewed my contract for another 5 years. I did not want to renew so I paid for 2 years for a system that did not work. In May 2023 my contract ended and I called June 3 to cancel my account and they are charging me for June again for a system that does not work. I was unable to pay until today June 20 and when I called they are now trying to charge me for July again for a system that has not worked for two years. Customer Service was not able to explain to me why I have to pay for July they said a manager would call me, but at this point I am unsure if I will be getting a call back. If you are considering a security system DO NOT use AMP Smart/Titanium

I’m mad I have to give them 1 star. Worst service ever. Cheap equipment and they have poor customer service. I tried to cancel my contract ahead of time. They told me I had to wait. I called often to complain about service and equipment. They always were too busy or said someone would get back to me within 1-3 days. The kicker is they knew I wanted to cancel and never said a word about my contract would automatically renew for another 5 years if they didn’t receive an email a month ahead of time. Ripoff! Zero protection and zero support. Use your money with someone else. I’m looking into an attorney. I’d rather pay attorney fees than give this scam of a security system one more penny. You deserve quality equipment. Don’t get scammed by these people.

So sad for the tactics this company uses to imprison and steal from customers. On a fixed income and our 5 year contract is completed. I was basically not "allowed" to terminate. I was questioned and berated for any statements I made during the conversation. Was told the supervisor was in a meeting and would call back. The questions relating to "why" I wanted to terminate were personal, prying and rude. (Rep stated" If you have a dog why can't you afford...") I don't understand the concept of an automatic contract renewal so will be closing my bank account.

I just finish a five years contract with amp and it was the worst service ever . And payments started 60.00 month by the time I was over 70.00
a month.and everything I need service work on my doorbell camera it was the worse experience ever. It works for awhile had it changed out twice but to get someone was not good.so I just gave up on them. Never again from me

This is the worst security system I have ever had. He will always be troubleshooting problems from the camera to the doorbell camera. I have had them out here several times to fix my security system and as soon as they leave a day or two same problem if I could take it down and throw it in the garbage can I would but I am locked into this contract that they would not let you out of unless pay them large amount of money so if you thinking about getting out but you better run

I called on 5/25/23 to cancel my service. The person that answer first transfers me to customer service and after I explained to her i needed to cancel my service because I was told we only had to keep it one year, but now they are telling me 5years and that was in the contract witch we never receive and if we cancel we would have to pay $1,800.00 to get out of the contract, we never saw a contract but they had use to sign saying that we would try it for a year to see if this was something we want to keep and now they are saying they had a contract and they need to send it to use.

We strive to be transparent in all that we do, which is why we go over the terms of our agreements in recorded phone calls with our customers before and after installation. In these calls, we go over the length of the agreement and do not continue with the service unless the customer agrees. You should have also received a copy of the agreement in your email. This company did not hold up services and was requested on multiple occasions to cancel contract. When terms were up of the 60 month contract they auto renewed the contract for 60 months without any notification. This is illegal for any context over 12 months.

Do not ever use, will force you into 5 year contract while covering up with “Free installation”. Panel and camera for $600 max on your own, I have paid for 3.5 years ($69 per month, $2800+), and still 1.5 years left. Panel broke, and only option to replace is $585 new panel & install fee, or New 5 year contract with $6 more per month

Horrible company. They have shady business practices. I've been trying to cancel for over two weeks. Then magically I get ahold of the department to cancel when it's less than 30 days by a day so I get charged an extra month. DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE.

YOU DO NOT WANT THIS COMPANY!!! Find another one, any other one but this company. LIES, LIES, LIES!!!! They sell you on a one year agreement but it is really a 5 year agreement that you are stuck in. They don't care about you!! The only thing they do care about is getting your money from you each month, that's it!!!!!!
