Frontier Communications no longer provides TV services.

As of April 2021, Frontier Communications no longer sells video/television services, and information in this review may consequently be inaccurate or out-of-date. To see the list of our top satellite TV providers, visit our Satellite TV home page.

Frontier Communications is one of the biggest telecommunications companies in the United States. While the company is best known for its fast and reliable internet connection, Frontier Communications also offers fiber optic TV and phone services.

TV from Frontier gives consumers access to family-friendly content and popular sports networks. Plus customers can add premium networks to their base plan and watch their favorite movies.

The Good

  • TV Services
  • Picture Quality
  • Bundle and Save
  • Frontier Mobile App

TV Services

Customers can choose either the multi-room Enhanced DVR Experience or the Premium Experience*.

Customers can expect the following features from the Quantum TV Enhanced Experience:

  • Can support 5 TVs
  • Record and store 150+ hours of HD programs**
  • Record up to 6 programs simultaneously***
  • Control live TV on up to 5 TV’s with set-top boxes
  • 1 terabyte of DVR storage

While the Enhanced Experience is great for a smaller household and the average TV watcher, the Premium Experience is great for those with a large household and TV buffs.

Consumers can expect the following features and specs with the Premium Experience:

  • Can support 10 TVs
  • Record and store up to 300+ hours of HD programs**
  • Record up to 12 programs simultaneously***
  • Control live TV on up to 10 TVs with set-top boxes
  • 2 terabytes of DVR storage

Picture Quality

The company assures customers that they’ll get 100 percent HD picture quality.

Fiber-optic connections are composed of millions of tiny strands of glass that transmit data packets, and are therefore less susceptible to noise and static and unlike satellite TV the picture quality is less likely to be interrupted by bad weather.

Bundle and Save

Bundling internet and TV services is almost guaranteed to save consumers money no matter which company they choose. However, there are a few perks to bundling Frontier Communication’s Vantage Internet and TV. Consumers that bundle will get Frontier Wi-Fi Everyware —this means that a Frontier technician will come to a home and ensure that the equipment is correctly set up and optimized for the maximum signal strength. Consumers will also get 24/7 tech support and free installation.

Additionally, Frontier’s internet service is known for having a steady connection, no data caps or usage limits, and a simple pricing tier.

It is important to note that there are a few additional monthly fees for TV service and equipment that may apply — however, consumers will have to call the company for more details.

Frontier Mobile App

Consumers can watch TV anywhere they go with the FrontierTV app. Users can download the app to their iPhone, iPad, or Android device to stream and watch their favorite shows on-the-go.

The FrontierTV app is included with the monthly subscription cost and there aren’t any setup charges or extra fees.

Customer Satisfaction

The company seems to have a mixed bag of reviews. There are several consumer complaints against Frontier’s customer service stating that the company double charged them, overcharged them, or charged them for services they were not using. Consumers also stated that they were left on hold for hours at a time and never got their issue resolved. On the other hand, there are reviews saying that the company had excellent customer service and that there were never any blackout periods.

The Bottom Line

Frontier TV seems like a solid choice when comparing it to other fiber-optic networks. The company offers a decent amount of channels and the DVR with the Enhanced Experience seems like a good choice for the average TV watcher — if you’re looking for more storage space and want to be able to record more than 5 channels simultaneously, then we recommend upgrading to the Premium Experience.

Bundling your services is also an excellent way to save on your monthly bills. However, Frontier isn’t the cheapest option out there, so compare Frontier to other companies to make sure you’re getting the channels you want.

Also, talk to your neighbors about their experience with Frontier — be sure to ask about the company’s customer service, reliability, and their monthly price.

* Premium Experience requires 2 DVRs and supports up to 5 different TVs with set-top boxes. Quantum TV Premium Experience with 2 DVRs supports up to 10 different TVs with set-top boxes. Each service lets you pause, play and rewind live TV.

**Store over 150 hours of HD programs with Quantum TV Enhanced Experience. Store over 300 hours of HD programs with Quantum TV Premium Experience with 2 DVRs.

***Record up to 6 programs simultaneously with Quantum TV Enhanced Experience. Record up to 12 programs simultaneously with Quantum TV Premium Experience with 2 DVRs.

I had Verizon FIOS in my areas and then Frontier Communications took over the area. We had some hiccups in the transition between the companies (at the switching station) that took about a week to figure out. We were credit for the down time and provide additional future courtesy bill credits for three months to smooth it all out. Their channel line up is excellent (I have EVERYTHING except foreign and sports). Only had a few pixelated episodes here and there but only during commercials. Their new Quantum service is connected to my Alexa and I can have a DVR anywhere in the house (no need for that coaxial cable in the wall).

When company first started it was not great service. Sometimes I would get rude customer service over the phone. They would raise prices but no deals. That is why I only have internet with them no TV. Now they have improved in their service but still having trouble communicating, because it took 2 months to get my first email statement from them but they were very eager to charge bill.

They have like the cheapest satellite TV in the area. There channels are clear and hardly ever go out. Service people are polite and will work on any problem till you are satisfied. Pretty good company.

I started with Verizon and they were bought out by frontier so they took over my contract and I continued with them for years before canceling my service when they kept raising prices. I still have them for my internet service.

Initially, I was not happy with my service. After filing a complaint, they have updated their local hub. I could not be happier with my service.

I've had Frontier for many years. Very good company overall. My only issue is that the price is a bit high.
