Best overall real estate app, except for the most important aspect of a real estate app, timeliness and accuracy of postings. Other real estate apps have updated info hours or even days before Zillow. Zillow provides the best pictures without annoying stripes or announceme ts. It also is the easiest to navigate.

It's easy to find a geographic area of interest. The list of rentals seems to be very up to date. Getting emails from Zillow is helpful to know what's changing in the area I was interested in.

The best part about using Zillow is that they have a section where it’s possible to view house for sale by owner. That’s how I found my house and I didn’t have all the crazy competition that the realtor listings had.

I have used Zillow for years and love how easy it is to use their website, as well as, how informative it is to see potential houses, neighborhoods and what surrounding area has to offer. However, I've recently read Zillow uses the user data to identify high search areas and use this information to invest in areas that have a high demand for profit. I'm not against companies making money but in the end it hurts the user because it increases the housing and rental costs in those areas and then companies like Zillow can either profit or sell banking the money made based solely on the users searches. Zillow recently sold half it's housing inventory (18,000 homes) which according to Housingwire dropped their market cap from $48 billion to $13.7 billion, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the future? If it's a housing market crash soon then maybe Zillow got advanced warning and dumped it's real estate on the market blaming it's failed iBuying platform?

What I like about ZILLOW is its easy to use. It gives you a list of available. Homes to choose from. Just by entering the zip code. Zillow shows you the details. Information. And price. And photos. Which is a definite plus.

I use Zillow's app to get a general price for homes in different geographic areas. Interface is clean and easy to navigate. Some of the features, such as drawing a circle to see homes in that area, are a bit clunky on the phone, but overall a nice experience.

While I really like the Zillow app, it is not always easy to maneuver in the app. When I type in an area or zip I want to look into, I am brought to a map rather than a listing of houses to look at. I think this is a bit confusing to the average user and compared to other sites, it would be best to see the listings first, be able to filter on specifics (which Zillow does) and then choose to look at a map if I want to do that.

I believe Zillow is overplaying its hand with the "Zestimate." What is the purpose of this nonsense? For example, I have two homes - one of which is substantially overvalued given the market and one substantially undervalued. Changes, updates and market conditions do not reflect in the "Zestimate" even after several months. I feel Zillow has become a leader in data collection and listings, however I do not feel the information Zillow generates from their market study is worthwhile.

Zillow amasses an extraordinary amount of properties for you to look at. The user-interface is terrific: searching is easy, and you can set parameters for cost, B/B, and so on very easily. The biggest problem is that you can waste a ton of time because their data isn't always up to date. Properties under contract are often displayed as available, which wastes a lot of time.

I loved using Zillow before searching to purchase our first house! I thought I was well-informed until I talked to a couple realtors about it, and they said Zillow wasn't the greatest resource... I still appreciated being able to check Zillow for photos and any extra property information, but I ended up using Redfin and MLS as a more reliable source for information about the houses we went to see.

Great place to search for real estate and current market conditions. I will say the Zillow estimate is usually a little off and there are a few other sites that you can compare to, and those sites tend to be closer to apprised value.

Zillow has good and bad I think, it's according if you are a buyer or seller. A home we had was very large (6000 sq feet) and zillow low balled our equity only because no other house was like it in the area. It was custom made. People who see that want to believe the appraisal and it's not right. On the other hand, if your a buyer as written above, it helps you out. I notified zillow and to no avail was it helpful at all to change my home value. I do like getting on zillow and scoping out what's on there, but just remember home value is not really always correct.

Very easy to search properties, like the fact you can narrow your search criteria making it useful. Value of homes aren't the most accurate (Zillow pulls information from other sites, but often has incorrect and outdated information), but great for a ballpark estimate.

Zillow is how I found the place I am renting now. It's easy to add things you're looking for to narrow down your search, and they also send you new listings that correspond to what you're looking for. They do have an application fee to run a background/credit check though, but that's probably hard to avoid.
