Marble is a law firm that can help with a wide variety of legal needs, such as divorce, custody, immigration, and more.

With Marble, legal representation is no longer out of reach for millions of Americans. They’re breaking down economic barriers that have existed for decades, making it easier for people to hire the lawyer they deserve. Unlike many traditional law firms that require a high retainer fee upfront, Marble offers more flexible payment options, ensuring clients get the help they need, when they need it. For example, clients can choose to pay over time with a monthly payment plan.

At the same time, Marble cares deeply about the client’s experience. Instead of working with one busy attorney who can be tough to get in touch with, Marble clients get a qualified legal team, including a case manager dedicated to helping them throughout their legal journey.

Marble currently has offices in 10 states, including the following: California, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, New York, Georgia, and Colorado.

The Good

  • Wide Range of Legal Services
  • Ease of Finding the Right Attorney
  • Price Transparency and Financing Options
  • Qualified and Experienced Legal Team

Wide Range of Legal Services

Through Marble Law, clients have access to fully vetted independent attorneys who handle a wide variety of practice areas, including:

  • Family Law — divorce, child custody and visitation, alimony and spousal support, and more
  • Immigration Law — citizenship, green card, and work visa or permit cases

Ease of Finding the Right Attorney

Marble makes it possible for clients to find an experienced attorney online. After an initial conversation with the Marble team, the client will get to speak with an attorney. During this call, the client has the opportunity to explain their needs and get a professional recommendation on the best path forward. If the client wants to move ahead with Marble, the financial team will work with the client to set up a payment plan. Marble is very flexible, so clients don’t have to worry that they won’t get the help they need if they don’t have all the money upfront.

The only exception to needing a payment plan is if the client has a legal matter regarding their employment. Marble takes employment cases on a contingency basis, which means clients will pay $0 unless they get a recovery from the other party.

Keep in mind, Marble is a modern law firm, not a referral company. This means that all attorneys have been vetted to meet Marble’s standards.

Qualified Legal Team

At many other firms, clients only have access to one lawyer who may be incredibly busy. It’s different at Marble, where clients work with a qualified legal team: an attorney, paralegal, and case manager. The attorney leads the case strategy, while the paralegal meticulously prepares all the legal documents. On top of that, they have a case manager, who’s the point person and supports the client throughout their legal journey. This ensures that clients get quick answers to their questions and feel taken care of.

Price Transparency and Financing Options

One of the most stressful parts of a legal journey is how much it costs. Attorneys typically charge per hour and require a high retainer fee, paid upfront. Once a client starts working with an attorney, bills can quickly add up, making the client feel stressed and out of control. This can be extremely challenging, especially if the client didn’t expect this cost and hasn’t budgeted for it. One way Marble removes some of the stress is by setting flat fees for each legal service. This way clients know what they’re getting and how much it costs before signing on with Marble. Then Marble takes it a step further by offering financing options. Clients can set up a monthly payment plan, allowing them to start getting the help they need right away while paying over time.

The Bad

  • No Free Consultation
  • Limited In-Person Meetings

No Free Consultation

Some law firms offer free consultations to clients, which can help determine if it’s a good fit for all parties. Marble doesn't offer free consultations, but they do offer a legal strategy session with a qualified attorney. During this call,  the client has the opportunity to explain their needs to an experienced attorney and get a professional recommendation on how to move forward. Although Marble charges $49 for this strategy session, that fee is applied to their balance if they decide to move forward. If the client cancels the session in advance, Marble refunds the fee, no questions asked.

Limited In-Person Meetings

Marble prides itself on being almost entirely virtual, so clients most likely won’t go into an office to meet their attorney. This helps the client save time and money by not needing to commute, but if a client strongly prefers going into an office to meet their attorney, Marble may not be the right choice. That said, if that’s very important for the client, they can definitely ask Marble if an in-person meeting is possible.

The Bottom Line

Marble aims to provide exceptional legal services as well as payment plans that work with most budgets. This makes it a great option for those looking for an experienced attorney with more payment flexibility. Marble serves clients in 10 states and is rapidly expanding.

Overall it did the job, it got me my divorce. But there are some issues with it. Originally I was bounced from a couple legal teams due to an issue on Marbles side, which was frustrating as it took 2-3 months to finally get the process started. Tom M, my lawyer, was great. Communication was long term but it was an annoying case for anyone to deal with. If someone is looking for an easy system to work with, but doesn’t have a strict timeframe, I can recommend Marble no issue. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who has a time pressing issue.

*Update 9-13-23* Marble law reached out to me and has made an effort to rectify the situation. Thanks to them, my new lawyer has reached out and has begun to process the divorce papers. I understand the process itself takes time so I wanted to update the ratings. I've adjusted the rating to a 3 star (from a 1 star). Once everything has been finalized with my divorce I will update again and leave a final review to let anyone who is reading this know how everything was handled. Just a bad law firm. Both lawyers assigned to me never responded in a timely manner. Any estimated time to respond (72 hours) was well exceeded. Took one of them over a month to reach back to me after several attempts. My case never moved past planning. The first lawyer just up and left their firm, leaving my case abandoned. No prior notification, no heads up from him. Marble's solution was to offer another lawyer or the option for me to cancel the contract (no refund offered for the initial $1200 paid). The second lawyer assigned is doing the same thing and not responding. Even the people at Marble admitted the second lawyer wasnt responding to them. They should admit things fell through and refund the money so I can at least hire a lawyer that wants the case.

I recently left a review of Marble Law on this site. As a result of the review, a representative called me to discuss the issues and said she would check into it and call me back. Two days later, I did receive a call back from the Marble representative who stated that Marble Law apologized and would refund my money. With the exception of several payments I made to them, they have done so. According to them, the refund for the payments will be due within the next five days. While I question why the whole situation was allowed to happen, I feel they did the appropriate thing to resolve the issue.

Edited to add: At this point I have been able to speak to people at Marble who have taken to time to make my situation right. I genuinely appreciate these efforts, and feel much better about my experience. If you are considering using Marble Law, run the other direction. They prey on people looking for a more affordable way handle legal situations. The problem is that you are much better off paying larger retainer fees. In my case, I am trying to finalize a divorce that I filed for 2 years ago. No children involved, and very little to separate. Should have been a simple case. After my husband continued to ignore my attempts to settle on our own, I sought legal help. Not having thousands of dollars to put down on a retainer fee, I went this route. After 4 MONTHS of my first attorney not giving my case any attention, I requested a new attorney. The next attorney was just as bad. I started working with Marble almost a year ago. Not one single thing has moved forward with my case in 11 months. The second attorney finally filed a request for mediation, after I threw a fit. However, he did not file that correctly, so the court date and money that went into that was wasted. I finally had enough, and requested to withdraw my case, so that I could find an attorney on my own who is willing to take care of my case. I was told now, that I would not receive a refund as the "settlement" portion of my case was completed at 100% and my "mediation" portion was completed at 75%. I sincerely hope that taking the time to warn others, I can save at least one other desperate person from falling victim to this company.
