Immediate Movers & Storage Frequently Asked Questions

How much advance notice do you need to book my move?

There is no limit on how much notice is required. We accept moves as soon as next-day to same-day depending on our availability. However, we do recommend booking your move as far in advance as possible to get a spot on the calendar, even if you don’t know the exact date yet.

What if I need to cancel my moving appointment?

You can cancel/reschedule your appointment with Immediate Movers & Storage at any time. To receive a refund for the deposit, it must be done with at least 72 hours’ notice.

Do items with drawers need to be emptied before moving them?

We politely ask that you empty out your drawers before moving day. Moving all those hefty furniture pieces on their own is hard enough when empty, but moving heavy furniture can be treacherous when they are full with clothing or other items. This can cause items to become shuffled around if the furniture needs to be tipped or turned over to maneuver, and can even weaken or damage legs/feet.

How can I minimize moving expenses?

We advise planning your move as early as possible. Your moving options will be more flexible the more time you have to select a time and date that work for you. As a general rule, contact us no later than two weeks prior to the desired move date.

When is the ideal time to schedule my move?

Your preferences, financial situation, and personal requirements ultimately determine this decision. You’ll probably spend less money moving in the late fall, early winter, or early spring.

How can I tell if I'm hiring a broker or a moving company?

A broker is a company that arranges the transportation of your cargo, utilizing for-hire carriers to provide the labor and transportation. Moving brokers are sales teams that book your move and sell it to an actual moving company, often times resulting in additional hidden costs since they take a commission from the sale. A moving broker is NOT a mover.

Do movers usually get tipped?

Moving is a difficult job, and a tip is a much-appreciated reward for great performance, but not required. In our experience, tipping can vary greatly by move type and customer. Generally, customers tip around $5-$10 per mover per hour depending on the service provided.

Our crew of Craig and Jeff were amazing! They were careful with our belongings. They were prompt and dependable. They gave great suggestions about furniture placement. We never felt like we needed to constantly supervise our move because they were great listeners about where items were to be placed. They were very efficient. We had several items stored with them overnight to be moved to an alternate location the next day. Items were in perfect condition upon arrival. We would highly recommend Immediate Movers and Storage! Ask for Craig & Jeff -- they are hard workers!!

I have used immediate movers twice I cannot say enough about this company. The movers are polite professional and easy to talk to they went above and beyond for me . I moved out of an apartment in the middle of a snow storm they shoveled a path in the snow from my apartment to their truck in order to get my belongings on their truck at no extra charge and not a single complaint from them, though the stairs and walkways should have been cleared by the apartment complex. Their prices a ridiculously low for all of the work that they do. All of my items were package protected mattresses covered etc. two young men packed up and loaded my three bedroom apartment up and had it loaded onto their truck in less than three hours and still had time for pleasant conversation. I highly recommend anyone needing to move to call immediate movers they are just fantastic.

Was looking to get three bedrooms of heavy furniture up an"L" shaped stairwell to the second floor.. you'll see listed ,Two Men and a truck or college kids... But this is a new house that just cost almost $4,000 to paint.. wanted somebody professional ..I liked the reviews on immediate movers and they did not disappoint....the two gentlemen that showed up on time ..wrapped every piece that went upstairs even the smallest nightstand.. I was impressed on their knowledge and experience..not a mark or scratch on anything....

I had one of their best groups of guy’s. Michael S., Jacob B., John H., Lamar W., Adam F., & Zachary S. They were quick to not waste time ( cause you are charged by the hour ) but took extra care for everything that was needed. If something wasn’t quite apart enough they finished taking it apart effortlessly and kept it together. Wrapping with like painters blankets all furniture. I was so happy with them that I had no worries about my Tonal home gym which is basically a huge heavy tablet.. lol Truly the best experience I’ve had with movers and love the availability that they will even do small jobs like moving furniture or appliances around your house.
