At Classic Design Services, most jobs start at the warehouse dock instead of a front door. The company opened in 1989 as a specialty mover for interior designers and antique dealers, and white-glove Atlanta moving and storage for fine furnishings is still its core: receiving, warehousing, delivering, and installing. Household moves come from a separate division that serves the continental United States.
When a designer’s freight arrives, staff inspect each piece, write any damage or shortage on the bill of lading, and barcode it into the inventory system. Items are then blanket wrapped, slipcovered, or crated as needed and stored on racks, in a vault, in a private room, or in climate-controlled space until delivery or installation.
The docks take anything from a full tractor-trailer or container down to a car at a street-level bay. Freight can arrive prepaid, third-party, or collect, and clients get receiving reports and shipping documents for every delivery.
The 100,000-square-foot facility offers short- and long-term storage, including private rooms and humidity- and climate-controlled vaults. Interior and exterior video surveillance and motion detectors cover the space, and CCTV records dock activity.
The company’s CV Fine Art Services division installs and takes down exhibits for museums, galleries, collectors, and artists. It also builds museum-quality custom crates from sustainably harvested wood and handles international crating and transit for artwork.
In-house specialists repair and restore furniture, and the FabriGuard division cleans and protects upholstery, fine fabrics, and heirloom rugs. Crews also remove debris and return unwanted furnishings to vendors, which saves a designer from booking separate trades to finish a project.
For household moves, estimates factor in packing, loading, travel, and unloading time, as well as how stairs, elevators, and parking at each home affect the job. The site says the company is a licensed carrier with the Georgia Public Service Commission and a member of the Georgia Movers Association and the American Moving and Storage Association.
The warehouse receives shipments only Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If a carrier can’t commit to that midday weekday window, the delivery will need to be rescheduled.
The household division describes its service area as the continental United States. International crating and transit appear only under the fine art division, so a family moving its whole household overseas won’t find that service described.
Most of the site is written for interior designers, antique dealers, galleries, and furniture manufacturers. Homeowners with an ordinary local move should confirm the household division’s scope directly, because those pages are much shorter than the trade-service pages.
Classic Design Services is a logistics house for fine furnishings first and a household mover second. It suits designers who need freight received, documented, and held until installation, collectors who want vault storage and professional art handlers, and homeowners whose moves include antiques, art, or pieces that may need repair along the way.
For trade work, start by scheduling deliveries into the weekday receiving window and asking how receiving fees will be billed. For a household move, ask the household division for a detailed estimate, and point out stairs, elevator access, parking limits, and any item that needs a custom crate.
