The coverage that we had through BlueCross and BlueShield was great. It was nice to be able to go to the Dr when needed and not worry about cost. The timeliness of some of there explanation of benefits and paying of benefits was sometimes extremely slow.
The website was easy to use to find information for finding doctors and also tracking my claims. I frequently recieved flyers in the mail about promoting healthy living. My son has asthma and I am grateful they recognized the care he was getting for it and sent me information to help with his symptoms and flare ups.
I have Medicare and a Blue Cross Regence Supplement. I have enjoyed their service for over 40 years. I have called in a few times and they have an excelling caring staff who try to answer every question. I am glad I have a policy with Regence.
Always confusing the website needs updating very confusing to check who is in your network. Not very easy for a new person doing insurance for the first time.
MIN S REYNOLDS
it was not a bad experience when needing assistance from them. I just think that the benefits could be a bit better.
I didn't love the lack of choices in doctors with BlueCross. Their customer service wasn't that great either, they didn't seem understanding or sympathetic to me.
Do not like. They don’t set regulated amounts for doctors to bill so you end up paying all over the spectrum.
Blue Shield has been a great insurance company for my family of 6. The customer service is amazing with any questions relating to your coverage.
I’ve had great experiences with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Through my plan with work, I have a lot of options for health care providers and competitive insurance rates.
Pretty good coverage based on my experience. It’s accepted at quite a few places and the customer service people are great to work with.
I ve had to have discussions with them re tests they would not cover from my medicare annual visit..
Be aware of blue cross blue shield Medicare advantage. Bad news if you get sick. My dad had cellulitis in his leg and needed to go into a nursing home rehab. The plan was to keep him there for 30 days of rehab. After 12 days the insurance discharged him . He barely can walk, both feet are completely swollen where he can't get his shoes on and he lives alone most of the time. He's so weak. How can they do that? Horrible and dangerous. Oh, he will get a nurse and therapy once a week. Big deal. What about the rest of the hours in the week. So unfair. The doctor didn't release him, the insurance did. He's paying a nice premium every month. Be very careful.
