Bronx native, Chef Joseph Perkins, has over 15 years of professional cooking and culinary experience. Perkins is ServSafe certified — an examination covering food safety administered by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation —and he studied Culinary Arts at Baltimore International College. Perkins also trained with and under several culinary professionals in a number of different environments, such as the Hilton Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel, Cinghiale, and Roy's Fine Dining restaurants.
Perkins specializes in a variety of cuisines but states that he loves creating customized menus for clients.
All of Kokamos' food is cooked from scratch and the company only uses fresh, local ingredients.

Clients who would like to try Kokamo’s meal prep services can expect a chef to buy all the necessary ingredients, bring all cooking equipment and reheatable containers, and come to their home to prepare the meals. Clients can select one protein meal option, one vegetable, and one starch for each meal they desire for the week.
Protein options include dishes such as chicken cacciatore, chicken parmesan, bacon-wrapped spinach and smoked gouda stuffed chicken breast, honey baked salmon, shrimp scampi, shrimp pad thai, and roasted garlic and sage lamb chops.
Clients' vegetable options include garlic green beans, vegetable stir fry, steamed cauliflower, squash medley, and edamame succotash.
Starch options include lemon herb quinoa, orzo risotto, roasted sweet potatoes, and roasted garlic mashed potatoes.
Clients should be aware that each meal starts at $12 per meal without proteins. A meal that includes a protein dish starts at $20 per meal. Meals that include game proteins (duck, goat, bison, lamb, etc.) begin at $30 per meal.
Kokamos' meal delivery service is similar to the meal prep service except that meals are prepared by the chef offsite, divided into several complimentary reheatable containers, and delivered to the home at a scheduled date and time.
Clients may also enjoy Kokamo's In-Home Personal Chef services. This service is an excellent option for those hosting a dinner party (small or large). Kokamos' staff brings all the ingredients and cookware, so clients don't have to worry about purchasing anything. Additionally, if a client requests, Kokamo’s will set the table with dinnerware, flowers, etc.
Clients worried about the state of their kitchen after the event, need not worry. Kokamo’s cleans up the kitchen so party hosts can continue enjoying the festivities with their guests. Again, all menus and dishes can be customized to fit any budget, diet restrictions, or taste preferences.
