Voya Financial is not a recommended life insurance carrier because of customer complaints left on Best Company. While it's not a recommended company, it does have nice options if you're an employer looking to add a life insurance plan to your employee benefits package. It has earned high financial strength ratings and offers term and permanent policies.

Voya Financial also provides financial services like planning and advice in addition to employer-offered life insurance products. It also offers other products and services, including annuity products, IRAs, retirement plans, employee benefits, and college savings.

The Good

  • High Financial Strength Ratings
  • Term Insurance Coverage Available
  • Permanent Life Policies Available
  • Customer Service Information

High Financial Strength Ratings

Voya Financial has earned high financial strength ratings from well-known ratings agencies. Voya Financial has several different insurance companies:

  • Voya Retirement Insurance and Annuity Company
  • Midwestern United Life Insurance Company
  • Reliastar Life Insurance Company
  • Reliastar Life Insurance Company of New York
  • Security Life of Denver Insurance Company

All companies received an A+ rating from Standard & Poor's in May 2019. Some of the insurance companies have also been rated highly by Moody's, Fitch, and A.M. Best. High financial ratings are a good sign because they indicate the insurer's ability to meet its claims obligations to clients.

Term Insurance Coverage Available

Voya Financial offers term life insurance that employers can include in their benefits package. Term life insurance only offers coverage for a set period of time. Voya Financial's term life insurance includes an accelerated death benefit if the insured receives a terminal illness diagnosis.

Voya Financial also offers support services for beneficiaries. These services offer financial advice to beneficiaries.

One of the biggest concerns of only purchasing life insurance through your employer is that the policy typically ends once you leave for another opportunity. With Voya Financial's life insurance, you may be able to retain your life insurance coverage even if you take another job.

Permanent Life Policies Available

Voya Financial also offers whole life insurance that employers can offer employees. This policy is designed to be lifelong. With whole life insurance you can benefit from the cash value accrual you can access while living.

Like the term life insurance policy, you may be able to continue if you leave your current employer.

Voya Financial does not state whether or not an accelerated death benefit is available with this policy.

Customer Service Information

Voya Financial provides customers with a phone number and online email form to reach their own customer service agents. Both methods of communication are reliable and customers can easily reach a helpful representative.

The Bad

  • Low Customer Ratings
  • Available Only Through Employers
  • No Universal Life Insurance
  • Limited Online Information

Low Customer Ratings

Customers who left reviews on Best Company gave Voya Financial low ratings. Complaints include difficulty with the claims process and payment, miscommunication on fees, and increasing premiums.

Many of these complaints came from people who purchased their own policies through one of Voya Financial's subsidiaries. While things may be different with its employer options, these concerns indicate that potential clients should proceed with caution.

Available Only Through Employers

Voya Financial's life insurance policies are only available as part of employers' benefits packages. If you want to purchase your own life insurance policy, you'll need to consider other companies.

No Universal Life Insurance

Employers interested in offering a universal life policy to employees will need to find another insurer.

Limited Online Information

For those seeking information on life insurance premiums, you'll need to contact Voya Financial directly. Life insurance quotes vary based on the underwriting process. While it may be inconvenient not to have this information readily available online, you'll get the best information by talking to a Voya Financial insurance agent.

gavel

The Bottom Line

Voya Financial is not a recommended insurance company due to customer reviews. However, it does offer term life and whole life policies that employers can include in their benefits package. If you're trying to buy your own life insurance, Voya Financial's insurance products are not an option. They are only available through employers.

Voya Financial gives customers some information on the website about  each life insurance product it offers. For more details about these policies, you'll need to contact Voy Financial yourself.

Very easy to deal with and responsive. I had a life policy with Reliastar (Voya Life) $500,000 policy paying only $36 a month for 20 years. I knew going into it that the premium would be very expensive after 20 years were up. So all these reviews about their insurance policy not being affordable after xxx number of years is true IT'S TERM INSURANCE, if you wanted it to last until you were dead you should have shelled out the $150 a month for the $100,000 whole Life policy instead buying the cheaper term coverage. Don't blame the company because your agent didn't explain how the product worked. Had you died during the term they would have paid the death benefit. And for the funeral home, they ask if you have a life insurance policy so they can attach a lean against it to pay the funeral costs. Many funeral homes will even fill out the paperwork for you. Funeral home gets paid and you get the remaining balance.

VOYA RAISED OUR PREMIUMS 300% and priced us out. We are in our 70’s and cannot afford this increase. So now we are told we have nothing! Age discrimination! We are nearing an age where they may have to pay out, so they want to get rid of older people. We took out life insurance to have something to carry us through the rest of our life. Now we have nothing. BUYER BEWARE. NEVER TRUST THIS COMPANY!

Voya was very helpful when I was trying to figure out my Uncle's life insurance and who the beneficiary was without almost any paperwork to go on. I called them and with one account number they were able to find two policies that my aunt was a beneficiary of and it was very helpful because I had very little paperwork to guess at what insurance he had after he died.

All has been good with Voya, they are a leader in the industry. The sales rep was very thorough and good at explaining the different policies and options to get the best coverage for my allocated budget. Was very happy with what we decided on and a real big piece of mind for my children.

My mom had a life insurance policy for my dad, myself and my brother. She retired. We were going through her paperwork and called to see if there was any value to the policy. They informed us that because she didn’t pay the premium they took a LOAN out against the policy. They told us what the cash value is which was about 700 for all 3 policies. They said since she cancelled the policy she didn’t have to pay the “loan” and she wouldn’t receive the cash value for the policies. Never in my life heard of anything like this! The WORST!!!!!

My family's customer service experience with Voya was the worst experience we've had with any company. We had been customers for our individual life insurance policies for over a dozen years. Finally we decided instead of mailing in our premiums every year that we would sign up for auto withdrawals from our bank. I called and tried to set this up for my husband and I. After almost one hour on the phone to simply give them my bank information and process our change of address (multiple hold times for a fairly basic transaction) I was told that I had successfully set up auto withdrawals for my policy and my husband would simply have to call to give permission to auto withdrawal from his policy. He called the following day and they asked him for all the information I gave them the day before. He was on the phone for half an hour re-hashing all the information. However, they said his was now set for autowithdrawal. I saw my premium was withdrawn shortly after but two weeks later his was still not withdrawn from our bank. He called back and customer service said it was just taking some time to process his request. Every week I checked back and my husband's policy was listed as "lapsed pending." Every week I talked to customer service expressing my concern that his policy was about to lapse although we'd given them all the information needed for auto withdrawal. I was reassured multiple times that his policy would not lapse and it was just taking some time--unclear why since mine was processed quickly. Today I saw his policy was listed as lapsed. I called customer service and they kept me on the phone for almost an hour. They saw in our notes since all calls are recorded that the auto withdraw request was "taking time to process." After all that, even after the rep admitted it was something on their end, I was told they would "try to re-instate his policy but it may take 35-40 days." What they should have done is apologized for their mistake, re-instated his policy immediately and withdrawn his premium. I will be looking for another life insurance company ASAP. We were attracted to the low premiums but have repeatedly had difficulty with customer service. They take forever to handle basic requests and all the reps seem as if they are not on the same page and very confused while making multiple false reassurances to us. "Don't worry, we see you have called three times before. Your husband's policy will not lapse. It is just taking some time." That was not true. They took so much time that it did lapse and now our family is left vulnerable. Please do not take out a policy with such a chaotic, mis-managed company.

I have spent 3 weeks just trying to rollover my 401k from my previous employer into my new employer Voya 401k. I thought it would be easy rolling over a voya 401k directly over to another voya 401k. 3 weeks, two hours on the phone and about 5 different people all in a game of phone tag. There was no clear directions for someone like me (never having done a rollover before) as to what information I needed to compile and how to execute the rollover. After the 5th person, I had a good idea of what to do and then I called back only to find that they cancelled my checks without telling me. I would have been waiting for those in the mail and nobody had the courtesy to tell me that I would need to have them re-issued. I had to call them to get the checks reissued and there was no clear answer as to why they were cancelled in the first place. I only called them by chance to get information on the exact total that was being sent, so if I had not called them for that information, theres no telling how long I would have waited. Potentially could have missed my 90 day rollover period.

My husband died from a massive heart attack and dealing with the financial aspects of this has to have been the worse experience after losing him. Voya is incompetent and uncaring. I submitted all the appropriate paperwork to get his 401 account and received and am still receiving excuses and no check has yet to arrive. Ongoing since August! First they needed a form faxed which my financial advisor had done but we did it again. Then it was some other minor reason for delay which was bogus. Then was told check was in Mail October 28 and never arrived was told it was being reissued and sent UPS and was to arrive November 19th and the customer service person gave me a bogus tracking number. Avoid this company at all costs, it is not worth the stress they incur on a grieving widow. They should be ashamed of themselves.

My wife passed away on December 6, 2018. Her death certificates became available on December 13th. On December 20th I met with our financial advisor with Wells Fargo. My wife had three variable annuties one with Voya. All of the paper work was filed and death certificates supplied so as to allow the transfer of the dollars from these annuities to the trust we have. In early January Voya notified me that an additional form needed to be completed. They did not provide this form until I asked for it. Instead of working with our financial advisor they emailed the form to me. I contacted my attorney to get his help with completing the form. I then had it notarized, signed, scanned and emailed to Voya. About one week later I received a call from Voya informing me that apparently I misunderstood one of their questions regarding the number of people in the trust. I had thought they meant at the time of formation and answered two. Rather they said they wanted the number currently in the trust and the answer was one. They recorded my answer and said the check was in the mail. On January 23rd Voya sent a letter to me telling me there was a serious error in the completing of the form since i did not include the account number. The letter contained the account number. I called and asked if it was necessary to resubmit the form. The person checked with their superior and I was told there was still one more error that being my birthdate was shown as 2044 rather than 1944. He told me this reluctantly because I am sure they wanted to use this as another gotcha. My wife passed away on December 6th and Voya with their delaying tactics did not issue the check for two months. This is not an ethical company. It it were it would have provided all of the forms required to process the claim to our financial advisor. The other variable annuities providers provided payment one month earlier.

I have been dealing with Voya for months now. In October I have sent my request to withdraw my 401k after being laid off. The request was approved. I got my paperwork motorized and sent to my old employer and Voya. After it was approved, I received confirmation that it was being distributed to me. After I haven’t received any distribution for a few days I reach back out Voya and they said that I cancelled my request even though the confirmation email says that I cannot cancel my request and I know I did not. I told them that I did not cancel my request so they asked me to redo all the paperwork. I had to go get the paperwork notarized again and mail it back. After I didn’t hear anything from Voya I reached out to them and asked about my distribution they said they never received the mailed paperwork and for me to redo everything.so I redid my paperwork and re-mailed them the paperwork and emailed that paperwork to them they still said they did not receive it so then I faxed my paperwork to them. After I faxed my paperwork to them and haven’t heard from them they said they never received the faxed paperwork since I put a lot of time in re-doing the paperwork a lot of money and getting it faxed, mailed and notarized I threatened to involve my lawyer. A few minutes after, they changed their mind and said that they actually did receive the paperwork because I have proof that they received the paperwork from my fax. After that it was approved since I filled out all the required documentation for the 7th time I recently asked for a date when it will be distributed to me they replied and said that I never signed the paperwork and asked for me to repeat the process an 8th time. I know I signed the paperwork. I have proof. It has been an inaccurate excuse each time for Voya to avoid them giving me my distribution.

My best friend who used to work for the State of Nevada passed away on January 10th 2018. Right before she died in the hospital she told me that she had listed me as a beneficiary on her State Retirement and with Voya Financial. After she passed away the State sent me paperwork to fill out to receive the benefits that she had left for me. I filled out the paperwork and turned it in. A couple of months later I received a check in the mail. But Voya never contacted me to let me know that she had left me benefits with them. Fortunately she told me right before she passed away because otherwise I wouldn’t even know that she had left me money with them. It has been almost a year now and I still haven’t gotten the money that she left me. I have contacted them several times but every time I speak to them they come up with reasons why they cant pay the benefits to me. They even told me that they couldn’t email the paperwork to me. They said that they had to mail it to me which takes 7 to 10 days to get it in the mail. When I finally did get the forms in the mail they were Blank generic forms that they could have easily emailed to me. I paid a professional $50 to fill them out for me because I didn’t want to take the chance that they would be filled out wrong. It didn’t matter though! Because it’s been almost a year and they are still giving me the run around. Every time I think that I am finally done and will get the money they come up with more forms or documents that they require. I think that they are intentionally stalling me probably hoping that I will go away or maybe pass away myself so that they don’t have to pay out the benefits and keep the money for themselves. In my opinion they are Scam Artist!

My husband and I have filed a complaint with the California Insurance commissioners office today, October 19, 2018. The c A brief overview of the case is as follows: We purchased a universal life policy from Midwestern United Life Insurance Company in 1988 with a death benefit of $25,000. The policy is now with VOYA Insurance. We have paid the $230 annual premiums every year for 31 years with the last payment being made in Feb, 2018. We received a notice early this month that if we did not pay an additional $211.01 that the policy would lapse in 10 days. I called them and they indicated that we really owed them $489 and that the annual premiums would increase from $230 per year to over $1750 per year which is over a 664% increase starting in February 2019 In their analysis (attached) they indicate that this estimated increase may be conservative. More likely, the premiums will increase more than those stated. These guys advertise themselves as the most "ethical company in America". If that is true, are all in trouble.

STAY CLEAR!!! I have had life insurance on me and my husband starting with ReliaStar in 1990. I just received a notice telling me I owe an additional $192 + because the value of my husband's policy is no longer sufficient to cover the current cost of insurance changes, Now that we are in our70s and on a fixed income , they are saying due to age the policy cost more and they have been taken my accrued money to pay the difference. Did not send a notice that my policy would be more which I could have worked into my budget. No they sent a 60 day notice if I didn't pay in the next month they would terminate my policy. This is the most unethical company I have dealt with

I paid $1,575.50 for 2017 to 2018 for term insurance from Voya. I was informed premiums due in August 2018 will be $3398.40. Voya insists this in only a "20% increase from the current annual premium." This is unethical on many levels and certainly is against their own mission statement: "Our corporate mission is to make a secure financial future possible — one person, one family, one institution at a time. As we carry out our work to realize our mission, we do so in a way that is ethically, economically, socially and environmentally responsible." Where is the security/trust in doing business with this company?

I have invested more than 50,000 in this companiy's annuity back in 2015 on my advisor's advice. The market has grown more than 4500 points since then but the value has grown less than 100 dollars from the best I can tell on their site. I have always had problems logging in to their site to the point of just giving up. I have written them many times with no response to the website issue. I finally received one the other day and had to have to spend some time accessing a "secured " message it only to find a message to call them? I am very unhappy with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. I would like to roll this over to another account but it will be a loss of 5000 dollars to do so. My hands are tied until this contrat with them matures - at the rate they are paying it may go up just a few hudred dollars over the next 6 years - Bad company - my advice from this experience is to stay away.

Customer service representatives that I spoke with were excellent even though they weren't able to solve my problem. On the otherhand Voya is the main reason why people don't care to have a retirement plan through any company. I recently took out a loan on my 401k because of hardship. The interest rate as well as the monthly payment they are requesting that to make you pay back your own money is ridiculous. I took the money out to escape hardship and now im fighting to stay out of the bad spot I was just in. I sent in a request to have the payment longer only to be told every 3 to 5 days that it will be another 3 to 5 days. Since the repayment is to last for 6 months im almost sure these 3 to 5 business days for a reply will last 6 months. This is a terrible company. They hold your money as if they were the ones who worked for it. The big wigs of this company should be ashamed. The company I currently works for has our 401k as well as our stock retirement through this company, which the employees ate pleading to pull us out of this agreement. Do not use this company.

I helped my mother with the purchase of an immediate annuity and was with the agent on speaker phone while we asked questions about payouts and survivability. My mom invested 100K into a 5 year certain annuity so that she could receive a slightly better return on her small estate. Mom died 2 months later and I was again present with the agent when we spoke to VOYA about claims. We had 2 options, continue the 5 year payouts or take a lump sum. The Executor of the estate opted for the lumps sum so he could pay the heirs. VOYA withheld 15% of the account value basing their action of page 39 of the contract in language which was not disclosed in the product information, application, or claim form. The statement on page 39 says 9% and VOYA cannot explain how that adds up to the amount they have withheld. I will NEVER recommend or sell another product from VOYA financial

Have been trying to initiate a simple 401k rollover for days. Unquestionably the worst, most frustrating experience I've had with any financial institution. After multiple hours of trying different help numbers (only to be put on hold and eventually told I was contacting the wrong branch of the company or some such nonsense), I finally got the right number. I was then put on hold several more times for 20+ minutes each time, repeating myself over and over. Then I was told they couldn't help me because my address wasn't current, and the only way to change it is by mailing in a form which takes a week. Then, I'll have to start the whole process over again. I cannot wait to move all of my assets from this miserably run, awful, and unhelpful company. Absolutely appalling customer service. Each person I spoke with was rude, dismissive, or unhelpful. I'm sure that working phone-based customer service for a finance company isn't the easiest job in the world, but come ON. Pathetic. I'm glad this site allows the option of giving 0 stars, which is what Voya deserves.

I usually don't write reviews unless they are really positive or to warn people. Unless your employer has both chosen Voya AND matches your 401k, I would highly recommend that you just use a reputable financial service competitor and avoid Voya. Voya's setup has made it such that I have to contact them to manage my account and they are always "currently experiencing a very high volume of calls" and "all representatives are currently assisting other participants". If Voya had an adequate online management setup we could better manage our accounts without all having to call in for assistance in the first place. From limitations on what I could access online, to inaccurate contact information that prevented certain transactions, to inability to change certain information on my account, faulty voice recognition phone software, limited choices in the funds to invest and poor site navigation, I just can't recommend this company to anyone, including to people who plan to just dump their money here and leave it alone. I would've loved to have left my money in Voya's account instead of rolling it to another financial service but when I tried to check my investments I immediately noticed issues with my account and solving those issues was a major challenge. And they charge a $125 “service fee” for simply rolling over my account. I know that is standard but the poor service just makes me wonder what service that fee actually goes toward. There are better options out there.

I don't complain much, but the customer service I received in trying to initiate a rollover for my account due to a change in employers was ridiculous. I was transferred multiple times until finally a 4th person helped me, at which point I had to listen to the same options that were already discussed with me by the first person I spoke with. I was then told I may not be vested and that had to be checked (I said I already knew I was vested and I left my employer in Dec. 2015, so I stated that if this was not already sorted out then that is a problem). After panicking for a moment about possibly losing a quarter of my savings due to someone else's error, the representative I was talking to said someone off the phone had informed him that I was, indeed, vested. When the representative hung the phone up at the end of the call I had no idea if the call was over or not because he hung up rather abruptly and then the phone began ringing again as if being transferred to another line. I waited, no one picked up, and I finally hung up. What should have been as simple as someone emailing me a form to rollover my account was anything but simple and was frustrating where it should not have been.

Voya Financial makes me wish I were dead. Any time you fail to sign in with the correct password, they lock your account and no one can help you get in for at least an hour, upon which you get to call customer service AGAIN. Apparently your birthdate/social security name/maiden name/mother's maiden name/blood type of your first born isn't enough information to guarantee it's you who is calling. And forget about trying to use the website; it's either down or you're locked out from too many password attempts. They require you to jump through so many hoops just to access your account and funds that it's almost criminal. They say they are protecting your money, but it is extraordinarily difficult for the rightful owner to access their money. For example, I am moving and needed to manage my account. However, my password was packed up in a moving box. I couldn't reset my password over the phone. Instead, they offered to mail me my password--to an address I no longer live at--and couldn't change my existing address without my password. So, basically, I'm out of luck! NEAT!

If you can avoid Voya, do so at all costs. They currently say they are the Most Ethical Company. Must have been awarded by Bernie Madoff. I tried to apply for a hardship form. First, the customer rep said I could. He sent wrong forms. But they didn't inform me that. I called again, they said they would send me the correct forms and post them to my online account. They did neither. I called a third time, and they said I couldn't take the hardship withdrawal. They sent one email saying that I could get forms online, then sent another one saying I had to call. They either don't know what they are doing, or it is all stall tactics to keep your money.

Horrible company. Worst customer service. Do not know what they are doing. Blaming me as client for not accepting payment then using that as an excuse to reduce my policy from ~$50K to ~$15K , with a surrender value of $9K that I have been paying since 2009. My payment for 13+ year is way over. Voya is a scam and very unethical. Highly DO NOT recommend. Heartless and not helpful.

By far, the WORST 401k mgmt company I have every experienced in 41 yrs on this Earth. Terrible. That is no exaggeration. One, their system is always down "for maintenance". Two, their reps are not knowledgeable and consistently give robotic responses. Only 401k plan I ever heard of a 7 day wait to add bank account info for disbursements. Then they sent me some bogus loan check from some Mom and Pop bank that my bank Chase could not even cash. Why would you send a fraudulent check to a person. Filing BBB complaint as well.

Wife had major organ failure and was in critical condition for21 days and it lead her to SJS and they denied claim they are 100% fraudulent company and would not recommend them to anyone! They operate a cheap weekly payment pyramid screen and deny claims! Definitely a company to stay away from and they should not be allowed to sell police thru to employees thru other companies! What the sell you in a brochure isn’t what the policy is but you can’t read the policy til you buy or go to use! Definitely fraudulent!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!

This is the worst company ever. The incompetence there is almost laughable. Trying to cash out my account and its taking 30 plus days and it still hasn't been withdrawn from their account. Keep calling and get excuse after excuse, they tried to contact previous employer but was sending it to someone who doesn't even work there and hasn't for a long time. Someone who holds on to your money should do a better job of keeping there records up to date. Its laughable but its seriously the worst company ever and do NOT do business if you can avoid it.

When I purchased Critical Illness Insurance through my employer, it was with the understanding that if I had ANY illness that was defined under their policy, it would pay, NO WHERE on their brochure did it have hospital stay stipulations. Well, I had an illness defined under their policy. But they denied my claim on the basis that I came home 4 days too early from the hospital. I was in the hospital for 10 days. Home ill for an additional 30 days. Still undergoing physical therapy...but none of that mattered, the claim was denied. I wasted my money and my trust in this insurance company.

I have a 401K and I am locked out of my account. I called Terrible customer service and they said they wound send me a pin for a new password. Instead I got a letter to stop paper by mail and go all electronic while I still cant get on line because I never got the letter with the pin. This company is a NIGHTMARE. I have life insurance and 401K What a BIG mistake. So at this point I am locked out and this crazy company wants me to go all electronic. I do not recommend VOYA to even my worst enemy.

My mother has had life insurance through them for 30 years. Started when they were relastar. She was paying under $50 a month all of this time. Now that she turned 75, they want over $300 a month or she looses it all. This is for just over $30,000 in life insurance. Simply put.. They are crooks. They are taking advantage of an elderly woman who has been a faithful customer for so long. This is the kind of company that makes the world so awful.

Shanell calls left a message I returned the call over a dozen times now NOTHING. My son passed 2/2019 I've had the life insurance policy since he was 16 I have other children with the same benefit because of all the trouble I'm having to process the claim..when it's all said and done I plan to collect on what I have put in and run quickly to another company. Customer service is horrible. It's horrible enough when you've lost someone you love and then have to deal with delaying claims and just out right not wanted to pay the insurance claim

Thieves is all they are , pay on life insurance policy for 18 years worth nothing . Rates went through the roof because I got old and they know you can’t afford it Hoping you cancel before you crook so they don’t have to pay out and they have all your money you have paid too. Dirty company stay away, over the years I paid them if I had buried my payment in the yard in a jar would have what policy was worth. How they sleep at night knowing that they have done so many people wrong . STAY AWAY from Reliastar Life ( Voya ) Deceptive company!

What a horrible company. My mother died and had her death benefits through these sleazeballs. 11 days later they finally sent the e-mail information for the claim. Who knows how long it will take them to actually process it. If you were relying on these funds to pay for the burial which is what my mother took the insurance out for, apparently these douchebags expect your loved one to be kept in a cooler until they get around to taking care of their business. Please take your money elsewhere.

Their rates are compatible for me. I do not have any bad issues with them. I have been with them for several years with no problems.

Abram Nicholson Hidden fees, customer support gives out wrong information. Customer support person surly and not helpful at all. Continually getting wrong information. Ask 2 people the same question, you get two different answers. Even our financial advisor is given wrong information. Unexpected fees charged for things they cannot even define to us. They make up their own language so you cannot understand what their documents say. I wish we had never gotten involved with this company.

I cannot access my funds because of inability to retrieve a password/username. I was told it would be mailed (surface) to me, three weeks later I still wait. I have called and have been told to give my social security number, reluctantly I did. Still I have received nothing. Now my SS# is out there. Miserable, absolutely miserable customer service.

I can see why there is a C- rating. Customer Service leaves you totally in the dark when it comes to giving updates. Meanwhile bills are piling up and we are left still waiting. We filed for short term disability due to a surgery, we started the process early to ensure there would be payment during the time I'm out of work. It's been almost 4 weeks since my surgery and still no decision has been made. I return to work in another 2 weeks, doesnt look like I'll get within the next 2 weeks. Very disappointed in services received. No point in paying for this service with this company.

We have had our Life Insurance through Voya for years, they have been priced well and I have never had any problems with them. They communicate well any changes they make.

If you need to talk to customer service, good luck. Who has hours to spend on multiple days just to talk to customer service? Worse ever, even more so than a governmental agency.

I got this insurance through work and it is worthless. If it isn't life treating they won't cover it. I will tell you don't waste your money or time on this company. I thought it was kinda like Aflac not the case. So if you are thinking about this just go get Aflac it may cost a little more but they do pay out.

I have Voya accident insurance through my employer. I wish I had read up on them before I signed up for the coverage. A waste of money. I cancelled the policy today and will just call it a lesson learned. After weeks of getting the run around, I gave up. I think that was their plan all along.

Voya is a terrible business and not reputable, at all. My benefit claim was denied ,denied the appeal, again, after a lengthy stall. I am contacting an attourney to get my money. I paid thirty years and VOYA is not communicating and forcing me to get a lawyer. STAY AWAY from doing business with this company.

I purchased a Indexed UI Universal life insurance 3 years ago, with $521,000 death benefit. I pay into it $500 a month, at the end of the year I received a summery, to my surprise, their admin fees, policy fees, insurance costs, rider fees etc etc etc amounts to 43.14% of what I paid into a year, does this seem normal?

They sold an insurance policy for a monthly premium of $45. The insurance cost went up without any notification and now the policy is worthless. They say the monthly premium in the insurance cost are not the same thing. I say they are.
