I've been looking into this type of ID prtection....after reading the reviews, especially about customer service, it sounds like LifeLock is the way to go.

My father had Lifelock for several years. When he became ill, I found fraud dating back for a year. I advised them about the fraud and they told me to first work with the credit card company and when the credit card company made their determination and there were still disputed charges they would then start their review of the situation. I did as they told me and during the credit card company investigation my father died. I have full POA and I am the sole heir to the estate. I contacted them to get them to intervene as instructed and they refused. They said the fact that my father died meant they no longer had any responsibility. I pointed out to them that the fraud occurred while he was alive and the fraud had been reported to them prior to his death. His death should not invalidate them protecting him from the fraud that occurred during the dates he was covered and all premiums had been paid in good faith. This is a contractual violation. I have filed a complaint with the BBB as well as the Texas Attorney General's office. I will take further action if need be but that is so unfair that I would have to go to these lengths to obtain their assistance, under the contract, that my dad paid for. Period.

Just signed up a few months ago. I like the price and I like the fact that I at least have something in place for my identity. The only complaint I have so far is that I get my alerts the next day rather thn the same day. Not sure what the point of that is. But I guess some alerts are better than none.

It was a good experience we got it as part of 360. The live alerts for credit checks were a little alarming at first, but it ultimately was good to know. I'd recommend lifelock.

Great tool for basic identity theft protection. There is no free trial, so you can’t try it and see if you like their tools before purchasing a subscription. Also there is no credit monitoring. The credit locking is a great feature but can sometimes be annoying when companies take 3-5 days to run your credit check and you have to leave it unlocked until they are finished.

It was a little nerve wracking choosing the right company after your information has been stolen but we were happy we chose it. Sign up was easy and monitoring was good. It was comforting having a company to help protect your credit.

Life lock was good company, but since Norton took over the Life-Lock it went down to hell. They are not keeping their promise and what they advertise every service you add extra subscription I am with Life Lock since 2008, never had single problem since Norton purchase the "Life-Lock" their services went down the hill. Price went up and no service.

Getting ahold of a live person in customer service is brutal. I too have had several accounts that they quit monitoring and have been unable to get them added satisfactorily. I canceled my service and find that they will not refund the remaining 7 months on my family service. You have to cancel within the first two months of the renewal date. That is poor customer service and I do not recommend Lifelock.

LifeLock Customer Service is the absolute worst I have experienced with finance/tech companies in my life! CSR services are outside the USA, reps only read scripted responses, no method of resolving real-time issues with their system. I have been locked out of my account due to a fault in the 2-factor security and reported this over fours days ago, still unresolved!!! When are companies going to realize we humans demand better on the service side of their marketing?

I have been a member for over 10 years. Is it worth it? No!!! I just called because Vanguard opened up 5 bank accounts under my name and they are not able to help unless I can call the Bankcorp they opened and get information on a accounts I did not open. I have the advanced LifeLock. How did they open 5 accounts and LifeLock not know? Asked for a survey and did not receive it.

Just had my identity stolen called LifeLock they gave me a bunch of information on who to contact about my stolen identity s*** what am I paying these people for if I have to call the credit bureaus and do all the hard work total waste of money go to your local bank did absolutely nothing for me just telling me all the stuff that they do sound like a commercial ad on the phone with the girl but after I got finished talking I had 20 phone numbers that I had to call and tell them about my identity-theft you don't need LifeLock you can do it on your own

My wife and I have life lock basic for a yr now. Two times I have opened a new charge acc. In a department store and received a notice during the transaction if it was me. I like life lock to the point of up grading. It has been 4 months now and still can't up grade.

Opened savings account at new bank. All personal information entered by new bank. Informed by manager that I would receive email or text soon from LifeLock. Not a single notification. Called them to complain. Oh well... we don’t report on all new account activity. We don’t monitor all financial institutions. What good are they???

Just happened to check my credit this evening. Said I had TWO mortgages. (I have ONE.) No notification from LifeLock and they told me that they couldn’t help me and that I had to call each credit company and open a wrong info claim! Argh!! Contacted credit bureaus... Different name came up with MY SS# at one, another said my SS# was wrong and couldn’t pull up ANY info, 3rd one confirmed I have 2 mortgages! Whaaa?! That’s what I am paying these morons to monitor! Don’t waste your money!

A huge bank gave me a credit card after my application and never heard from Lifelock. They can't tell me if the bank is within their network or not, NOR will they monitor every exchange with an institution. I get that for smaller organizations, but for a huge national bank, it's a flaw in their system. Horribly unhelpful agents (2 calls) becoming very defensive. Dropping this service and changing to another.

I recently opened a home equity line of credit. Both Discover and Credit Karma sent alerts about a new account on my credit report. (Both services are free). Lifelock never sent an alert. I contacted LifeLock and ended up talking to someone overseas who read from a script. Every email I sent was met with boiler plate verbiage never addressing me personally. I finally cancelled the service as I lost trust that LifeLock has any ability to proactively protect their customers.

Absolutely horrific customer service! I had fraud on my bank account where someone started a bank account in my name at a different bank and made transfers, Lifelock took 2 months to even investigate and then said they could not help in any way. Not to mention customer service was rude and unconcerned. They also get paid by the credit bureaus so they really are not on the consumers side. Complete waist of time and money. Put a credit block on your credit reports which is free and way more effective

Pulled up the Website and it came back that my service was canceled. Called Lifelock and was put on hold for an hour and 25 mins., I called them at 5:30 in the morning and still had a long wait time. I was not very happy, 1st of all that I was canceled and 2 nd of all the wait time to be on the phone with them. Then I was told I was only thru Norton that it was showing canceled, but yet I was in Lifelocks website.

I canceled my membership with LifeLock due to someone stole my identity. LifeLock handled my case like it was inapplicable. They informed me that its going to take three days for an investigator to call me. She opened an account and drivers license using my social and you want me to wait three days? During that time she can buy a car, open more accounts and take out a loan. No, Im not going to sit here and wait three days!!!!

They state they will notify you if a new line of credit is applied for. I applied for a auto loan and never did hear anything from lifelock. I called in and rep said not all companies were monitored. I ask him why they did not monitor Bank of America but he did not have an answer. It is not like Bank of America is a small company. Really wondering what I am paying for.

When I was a victim of identity fraud/theft it was almost impossible for me to reach somebody who was supposed to be my "agent". And when I finally got a real person, due only to my demanding to speak to a person, she was hurried and rude and unhelpful. The customer service is HORRIBLE. I spoke with 3 different people at lifelock. None of them could answer questions I had intelligently. I was enrolling 3 members of our company due to a security breach. We had to hang up and call back for each one. By the time we got to the 3rd member we decided to go online and enroll. After enrolling him online we printed the receipt which contained ALL of his personal information. I have to turn this receipt into the Finance Dept. That just doesn't seem very secure to me from a company that prides itself on protecting your ID.

Had three of the cards being monitored hacked and used. Lifelock never notified me and when I called them they told me to report it to the police. When I cancelled their services, they said they would send me a check for the remainder of my prepaid fees. Been two months and still waiting. 20 to 40 minute wait on phone when I call and get zero service - a waste of time.

They use to be good. 3 years ago they stopped a car loan wile i was at the dealer and cleared it up quickly. I just bought a car and nothing except a credit inquiry a week later, several calls about it. when to the web pate and was told to click a green button to OK it. No green button, not able to cleat it and get calls telling me I have to wait 18 minutes to talk to someone, all the while being subject to BS advertising for their lame service.

My mom's bank acct was hacked back in 2011. After everything was resolved, she got Lifelock. Then last year her credit card was hacked. She never received a call from Lifelock. It was her bank that notified her of the suspicious transaction. When she called lifelock, they knew nothing about it. They thanked her for notifying them. She asked them why her bank notified her but they didn't, Lifelock couldn't answer that question. They told her they would put this information in her file. She has lost confidence in Lifelock. She's looking for another company for protection.

When I first signed up for Lifelock, I got an email when I opened a new credit card account. That made me feel safe. But more recently, I opened another account and got no email. Then that new card got hacked to purchase an airline ticket with Turkish Airlines (ISIS?). When I called Lifelock, I was told that they do not monitor 100% but are moving in that direction. They have a more expensive plan now that will monitor such things. But my bank informed me about the fraud and mended it and since Lifelock was no help, I just terminated the Lifelock membership today.

LifeLock will take your money year after year and make promises to protect your bank account, when you actually need them after someone steals your identity and hard earned money they give you the runaround and tell you the only way to get your money back is to take the thief to court even if that thief is locked up in jail! No happy with product or services. Easy to sign up difficult to address issues of ID Theft. When I call to address someone accessing my credit and opening a CC in my name they only sent me a package to fill out??? I checked them out closer and found LifeLock was Fined by the FTC in 25 states for false advertising and are now under investigation again....Please tell me how the BBB can give this company an A rating when they have been and are being sued by the FTC??? The BBB will give anyone an A if you pay the $$$$!!!

I bought a car couple years ago and I had to contact them three days later and tell them that I bought a car why didn't they detect it ..Then three days after that they contacted me asking me if I bought a car?im like yes I did but it's too late now. Then recently I opened up a credit card through Wells Fargo and it's been eight days and they still haven't contacted me ..seems to me like LifeLock is a joke... I'm wondering if they really would back me up and fix it if I really had fraud

What's the use of a so called "alert" if it's 2-5 days after the transaction? They keep giving me BS reasons for the slow "alerts". My bank IMMEDIATELY texts & emails me for the same transactions. I think I'm going to drop them after this year's enrollment period ends.

Got a notice that I needed to change my credit card on my account. Couldn't find after several attempts, the link to make the change. Called the 800 number and the 7 level voice activated system got my credit card number wrong 3 times. I have now been on hold for 17 minutes---WAY too long for me. When I signed up there was a live person, now after several years I'm on hold like I don't matter any more. I'm leaving LL.

initially had standard upgraded to ultimate. was told there was a problem and service was to be discontinued. after 8 months tried to re-enroll to the ultimate after receiving a renewal notice. turns out I had 2 accounts to one address and one was to another person, not me. canceled that got the ultimate but was unable to enter my credit cars and bank accounts into it. So secure I couldn't even enter mu info. needless to say lifelock had been terminated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had savings/bank accounts opened in my name. Lifelock alerted me to this event, but have have a terrible time being able to talk to anyone from their restoration servcies. They are always busy when I call and never all me back, even though they say they will. I have contacted the bank, SS, credit bureaus, and police myself, since I have no idea what LifeLock is doing.

In the past, I would have given this company at least a '8' or above. Not anymore. A complete '0'. For the past several weeks (the last notice being on April 4) all notices of any activity on my account stopped coming in. The only assistance (if you want to call it that) I got from them was to delete all accounts and then re-enter them. What a complete waste of my time. Still no alerts. I think they might have been hacked because they still don't have any answers. I quickly cancelled my account and will never deal with this company again. Beware of this company.
