Liberty Mutual has been providing insurance since 1912. The company currently employs over 50,000 employees in over 900 offices throughout 30 countries around the world. Recently, Liberty Mutual began to offer identity protection insurance as an add-on feature to existing policies.
Liberty Mutual offers identity fraud insurance up to $15,000 per occurrence and $30,000 per payment term. This policy covers approved reasonable attorney fees, lost wages, loan application fees, costs for notarizing appropriate legal documents, costs for certified mail, and long distance phone calls related to the identity theft event.
If identity theft does occur, Liberty Mutual members are paired with an identity theft counselor, who functions as the mediator between the member and credit reporting agencies to rectify fraudulent activity. Liberty Mutual can help with financial, medical, criminal, and tax identity recovery.
Liberty Mutual does not offer monitoring services of any kind. Customers who would like to receive preventative credit monitoring, internet scanning, bank account monitoring, and social security number monitoring will not have much luck with this company.
Liberty Mutual does not disclose pricing information on its website. Instead, interested consumers must reach out to the company in order to obtain a quote, which can be a bit of a hassle.
