Be honest with people from the beginning. This is basically a fraud what they are doing. In the beginning, when I purchases the packets, it was if anything happens, we'll reimburse anything that needs to be fixed on your appliance. When I called to say I have a problem, they said they were not available and I had to pay from mu pocket because I was supposed to have my machine maintained for the last two years. That was never mentioned in the contract.

The first time I tried to use my warranty, they never showed up and the second time, they did not want to cover the sot associated with the problems. They need to be more up front with their policies. The idea that they only cover the depreciated value of the parts is unacceptable because that would not replace the parts. Also they expect technicians to come out on multiple occasions rather than just fix the problem. I think that is not an acceptable business practice.

Find a different company. They take forever to get back to you. Two of my water heaters broke and I had to do two separate calls and they fixed one but didn't fix the other because the valve or something. It's almost useless having.

Steer clear of select home warranty. Their coverage is very poor. My stove went out two and a half weeks ago. The tech had to wait for authorization from select home warranty and they never gave it to him. They promised a 24-48 hour turn around and they kept putting me off. I still don't have an oven that operates and they refuse to replace it. The reduced the value of my high end oven down to $200.

They lost my warranty information and it took me a week to get a warranty claim process because they messed up on the initial warranty. It took 3 phone calls and two and a half weeks to get my dishwasher fixed.

Don't want to pay for a fan motor on my air conditioner. I have had two policies for about 5 years only used one once minor pay out. They say because they added Freon to my unit to they will not pay on motor or labor. Bill 888.00 Freon was 395.00 I think they owe me the rest of Bill minus the deductible. Not a happy customer. Offered me 250.00 calling it a coursity pay.

It seems that Select dispatches "fly-by-night" contractors. I submitted a claim for my refrigerator and Select dispatched a ROOFING company! The technician was suppose to come to my home today BUT never showed up! I am VERY UPSET with Select's choice of contractors! I wasted a days vacation for this service call!

They do not have enough contractors to service any claims in my service area (Clarksville/Nashville). Cannot follow contract guidelines to contact my property manager with questions. In addition, they respond to claims via email directing you to call a contact number. That number is another toll-free number that you have to navigate through to speak to a representative (with an extended wait time)

I had several problems specially when my ac broke in middle of summer and on weekends and couldn't get a technician till Monday tuesday then they said do it and we reimburse you it cost me 504 dollars but it they reimburse me for 150 and it took more than 30 days to get the money I never got meanwhile my 125 dollars payment was due I told them to take the payment from what you owe me they said no

They are a scam. They always have a reason why they can't pay it in a clause with loopholes in the country and they use them so they don't have to pay for what they promised you in the sales pitch. They don't care about people they will leave babies and Elders in the hot heat while repeating over and over after 48 hours we got another 48 hours before a supervisor can call you then never calls before they can move into approval then never approve. I paid up frount in all 2500 for 6years and we on year 2 I want my money back they never did a repair for me yet

Everything you turn in, it seems like they don't accept it. They tell you to call your own repair person. My water faucet was leaking and they told me that I have to call my own person and then they refused to pay it.

The service was poor. They said they would have someone to me within forty eight hours when I had my refrigerator fail and it took a week before I got somebody to even diagnose the problem, and select said they would not pay the travel fee because there were pretty far away.

On both occasions I've used my warranty, they were unable to assign a technician to deal with my problem and I had to go out and find my own technician. The very first time, I waited and waited and it was 10 days later they still hadn't found someone. They need to get more technicians. I did get reimbursed.

It takes long to get people to come and fix your stuff and they don't fix everything they are supposed to. My air conditioning went out and I had somebody come out to look at it and they said I would need new unit and select home warranty would not cover it.

The monthly cost and deductible are lower than most others but I pay the money and get nothing in return. It does sometimes take a while for customer service to get back to me and every time I've tried to use it, I get a call back saying they don't cover it.

I though they would save me money but there is no point for me to pay for the server and then pay for something to be fixed. I had a problem and it was the circuit board that was broken and I had to call somebody else because Select Home Warranty offered to pay only a hundred and fifty dollarrs of the three hundred and fifty dollars it was gonna cost.

I spend more money with ur company then if I had no warenty.they didnt tod me everything was gona be paid for other then the service charge .but they lied.they took 7 days to fix my ac becoz they forgot to tell me I needed to send pictures.i told them over and over I had 3 kids.i lost money at my job and I had to pay out of my pocket.so warranty at this point worthless and will not renew my contract.

They represented local repairman were available. They were not. We have waited 6 weeks for someone to fix our clothes washer. One refused to come because the warranty company did not reimburse them for a previous customers work. They orally said we should buy a new appliance, but failed to reimburse us the full amount.

Scam. Very costly mistake. I just renewed after the first year. Air conditioner (47 year old air conditioner!) wasn't working right or cooling. They sent THEIR person to look at it, it was denied. Btw his invoice stated $60 for the call, wouldn't provide me with any information as to the problems). I'm out many thousands of dollars to replace. I would NEVER RECOMMEND this fake warranty plan. I have a complaint in with the attorney general's office.

Every time I call they have not been able to find a technician to come out. When I put in a claim it takes 2 or 3 people to find out how far along my claim is. I had to wait forever to get reimbursed. The point of having this warranty company is so I don't have to do the legwork to find a technician.

Sadly I must give Select Home Warranty one star. After being with them over a year I finely needed a repair on my refrigerator, it was working but there were control panel problems. I called them to report the issue and to get repairs, the answering of their questions was laborious and irritating. Ultimately they indicated repairs would take place, I was notified about the company that would do the repairs. After some time I heard nothing from any one, so I called the company that Select said would do the repairs, they never heard of me, nor of Select Home Warranty. I called Select and after talking to a couple of different representatives I was told they had checked with 11 different companies and they would not be able to get anyone out to my home. They went on to say that I should try to get someone and they will reimburse me or the repair person, I really wasn't quite clear on that. I indicated that I was paying for them to handle the claim, which then they said they would try. I will shorten the rest of this long story by saying they never were able to get someone to my home to make the repair. I canceled the remainder of my policy, so I lost $1300 and got nothing for it. I did get a call from a "supervisor" who tried to get me not to cancel, he actually said because he is a "supervisor" he could get my refrigerator fixed right away. I wish that someone could have done that 3 weeks prior when I first contacted Select Home Service to get my refrigerator fixed!

I had other companies like American Home Shield and Choice with littler lower quote but wanted to continue and give SHW an opportunity to add more services and good coverage. One star was less not because others were good but to give a chance to add more appliances or to improve service and reduce service call charges. My last policy went up $120 after the first year so I started looking elsewhere. Select had the best deal and locked in the price. The longer I subscribed the cheaper it got. Plus you can cancel anytime after the first year and get your money back. Sounds good to me. Thanks Ray.
