Overall, VERY pleased with AHS and their services. Have been a customer for 30+ years and have received excellent service, repairs, and replacements for covered appliances. The ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the online and phone automated process makes it nearly impossible to speak to a human: and therefore also impossible to request a preferred service provider.

Very easy to request service online. AHS acknowledges the request immediately and assigns a contractor within 2-3 hours. The contractors, so far have been very reliable in setting up a time to service the problem and have done a good job of diagnosing the problem and getting it fixed.

I like the quality of the service providers they have sent! Knowledgable, polite and respectful. Dislike that I purchased a policy for my daughter as a gift and pay for it monthly. The system messes it up every time we use our respective policies. Example: I had a claim. All the communication from my claim was sent to my daughters email including her phone number so the provider called and emailed her when scheduling the appointment. I was the one who had the claim! Confusing for myself and the provider! Slows down the process!

They do not handle emergency request well. When I called about my water heater busting the process was going to take days. Meanwhile my floor was flooding and they acted as if they didn't know how to escalate this issue. Although I was told they were escalating the issue. They also don't take complaints regarding the companies they use well. I had a company hang up on me because the receptionist that answered the phone said she was too busy to wait for my response to a problem. When I told AHS, they continued to try to reach out to the company with no answer from that company (for 2 days!). I had to pay for the service out of pocket because AHS didn't make a move to resolve the issue. They tried to get me to continue to use that company. Those were the only 2 issues I really remember but now that I am thinking about those issues again, I don't know why I am still with them. I also just reduced my stars.

Prompt service. Fixed the problem at a great price. Our old air conditioning system broke down, and they offered us a new system at a price thousands of dollars cheaper than other companies (we got another quote). I’ve been with AHS off and on a long time. They are usually good to help me find a solution to my problem but have dropped the ball regarding a dryer issue. They’ve send technicians out 4 times now with no solution. The last tech said because of a part issue it can’t be repaired. This has been going on since May and now we’re at the end of June. My dryer is a fire hazard in that it dumps the lint not only back into my clothes but down in the bottom as well. Also if you let dry clothes stay in it or leave the door closed for more than 4 hours it gets wet inside requiring me to redry my clothes.

I have had AHS for two years and have used them for 4 problems. In my state AHS doesn't have many service people, but the ones they have sent have been absolutely fine. Am still shocked they replaced my expensive wall microwave and oven.

Overall things worked pretty well and the plumbing company was very responsive and did an excellent job. Can't say as much about the automated system. Attempted three times to access the system and kept getting error messages. Finally, just called to make arrangements. Also, the automated e-mail notification system was a little late notifying me that the assigned company was on the way.

AHS customer service is good, but their ordering division is suspect. I placed a service claim (Washing Machine) on 5/15/23 and it’s 6/20/23 , my issue is still ll not resolved. Communication beyond customer service lacking in a major way. During this period the number of parts were ordered, meaning less than what is required to complete the repair, causing delays, my family and I are still waiting for the parts . On two occasions I was told by the repair technician what parts were needed as well as how many, and if there was more than one part required, AHS sent one part, causing delays and undue stress. I would inform AHS and the assigned contractor to rectify the issue. Hopefully I’ll get the parts needed for this repair, but I’m lacking the confidence I had seven years ago.

I made the service request on a Sunday. Monday was a holiday. Someone came out early Tuesday morning to look at my water heater and turn it off. On Wednesday I got a call saying I would get a new water heater. On Thursday they put the water heater in. Friday was my birthday!!! WOW

I like having american home shield , they are really good about getting things fixed however over the past three years everything has gone up so much and now it is even more to have someone come out, then we have to wait a month to get approval for something to be done. It just seems like a lot of money being thrown out even though since our house is older we have had about five things fixed in the past three years it is nice to have the peace of mind.

We have been with AHS for many years and have had good and not so good experiences. Our most recent experience with a plumbing issue was a 5 star rating as the company they sent was great. In the past we weren't as fortunate with an air conditioning problem in our previous home because there was a terrible time delay in getting a part and as a result we had no air for several weeks which is not a pleasant situation in the middle of summer in florida.

Their website for making payments and requesting service is great. They will service small issues quite quickly and will likely pay your claim when it's a smaller cost. If you have anything larger that is higher cost, they will find any way possible to get out of paying that item and tends to take longer to get serviced. If you have something like an Air Conditioning issue it will take 4-8 days for someone to get out to take a look at it. This is especially bad when you live in Arizona (a very hot climate and considered an emergency). This has happened with water heaters and AC units where it took a week to get someone out, only for them to not pay anything or will pay a small portion. So literally we were without hot water and AC for over a week. When it's 105+ degrees you cannot live over a week in your home, let alone no hot water for that same length of time.

Offset by … Very challenging to get to person at AHS that speaks English as first language and can solve problems, e.g., contractor that performed AHS preventative maintenance for ac systems was not initially allowed to perform service that he identified needed attention; AHS agent said they needed to assign to a different contractor.

I got a real stubborn customer service guy, AHS sent a comp to fix refrid the comp has over 20 complaints to bbb, horrible reviews on line and through Angis list. I wanted AHS to cancel that comp and sent different co the C/S argued said competitors give bad reviews. Had to enlighten him that bbb follows through with complaints. Then he said AHS needs to wait until the comp calls AHS to cancel. He was a jerk. The other C/S lady was very nice and took care of my concerns

I like the ease of putting in a service although I called in and wasn't happy with the customer service at all. The 1st rep completely told me a lie. The 2nd rep was very rude. The 3rd rep was more helpful but I asked for a list of the charges from the 1st company and still I haven't received it. But just an FYI Air Dynesty is a complete ripe off they are grousley over charging your customers even charging for things that shouldn't charge for like freon in a new unit. Because new units are prefilled already. And not to mention they sent a salesman out and sent me a quote outside of AHS.

American Home Shield has always come through for me. They are fast to react to problems and the people they send to check out my requests are always easy to work with and do a great job. As for the times I've needed to replace appliances it has always been a very easy process.

Absolutely professional and customer focus service. I thought I would need a completely new HVAC System and American home shield was able to not only provide a repair and avoid a complete replacement but the cost was approximately less than 1/3 of what I've. Been the estimated same repair by my current HVAC maintenance team!

Reputable companies are sent for repairs and if an appliance is beyond redemption they replace it with excellent quality item. Service is usually within 5 days which is really not too bad all things considered. I definitely recommend them if you want excellent coverage.

Once I called to set up a schedule, all things worked as planned. The service professionals set to do the work were prompt, polite, knowledgeable, clean. I was impressed that in both cases (two services scheduled), the service person provided some best practice tips and called back to make sure thing were all good.
