Getting a claim approved and paid is like being put on a witness stand in a court of law. They ask the contractor so many questions looking for a reason not to approve and pay a claim. If a contractor doesn't know the exact cause and lists several possible reasons for failure, the select the one that isn't approved. On one claim, I was told they wouldn't cover an electrical issue because the home inspection said there were cracked faceplates (which I bought from the hardware store and replaced and had NOTHING to do with the electrical issue). I had to fight with them to cover an AC issue even though the AC had a clean bill of health inspection and they had that report. They did finally pay 3 claims I had, but it felt like a fight to make it happen. One issue may be that you don't speak to the same person every time and some of they people don't even understand what they are hearing from the contractor. One person thought the electrical contractor was saying he would have to open the wall, and that is NOT what he said. I also had people tell me I'd get a call back same day, never did, and had to call them back. I've had other home warranties before, and never had any experiences like I did with this company. Their website needs to be upgraded as filing a claim and loading the paperwork doesn't always work. I only give them 2 stars because they did finally pay 2 claims that I had to argue with them about and one claim that was paid without a fight. I did not renew my contract.
