My experience with the security part of Vector has been fine. My experience with the customer service part of this group had been unfortunate. I have been paying a monthly service contract fee since 2009. I had one service visit for a battery change of one of the monitors in about 2016, and another last week, for what was displaying as a low battery issue with a component. It took at least three weeks to get someone to actually return my call, with multiple attempts. When the technician came, this issue turned out to be that the glass breakage unit needed replacement and he did that. Fine. He also replaced all of the unit batteries as I'd discussed when someone finally got back to me. As the technician left he said no charge (but I gave him a cash tip anyway - that's not relevant here but I thought I'd throw that in). Today I received a bill for $8 for a fuel surcharge from Vector. I've been paying monthly for 13 years for service calls, with a single battery change done 5 years ago and one done a week ago, and they want $8 for gas money???

We've had this service for 13 years now without any flaws. Anytime we forgot the alarm was set and accidentally opened a window or door the alarm triggered immediately and within 1-3 minutes we received a call inquiring about the alarm. My only beef is the technology is old and no one from the company has ever tried to contact us about available upgrades.
