Vivint offers a comprehensive smart home solution, including a control panel hub, security cameras, home automation devices, a connected car device, and security and safety sensors. Customers can also finance their products to get a complete smart home at the start without paying for everything upfront. Here's a detailed list of Vivint's offered products:
The home security company offers security systems that are professionally installed by a Vivint smart home pro. This means that your sales rep will schedule a smart home pro to come to your home, consult with you on what your home might need, and help you determine where all the products should go. The technician connects your entire system for you and then shows you how to use it before leaving.
Vivint includes 24/7 professional monitoring by security certified agents. If homeowners want peace of mind that their houses will be protected at all times, monitoring is an important part of proper home security.
24/7 monitoring means that your alarm will send a signal to a professional monitoring center when a sensor detects a break-in, smoke, or carbon monoxide. The monitoring center will then contact you through the system's cellular two-way communication to verify whether the alarm is an actual emergency or a false alarm.
All Vivint equipment is under a lifetime warranty, while installation comes with a 120-day warranty. After 120 days, service calls are $49.
A useful offering from Vivint is its compatibility with the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, which allows homeowners access to voice-controlled control features. Vivint is also compatible with other popular technology, including the Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Thermostat E, Philips Hue lightbulbs, and Z-Wave Alliance certified products.
Compatibility with these smart home products is especially helpful for improving energy efficiency in your home.
Customers have the option of a zero-percent interest loan for 42 or 60 months, so they can get a complete Vivint security system without having to pay for everything upfront (as with DIY systems). The accompanying service contract matches the term of the loan so that customers have service while they are paying off the products. Once a customer pays off their equipment loan, they have the ability to go to a month-to-month service subscription.
The Vivint Smart Home app is available in the app stores for both iPhone and Android devices, and you can use it to manage and control your Vivint system from anywhere. Customers can also use the Vivint app to set up rules for certain events to happen automatically when triggered by other products or at specific times during the day. For example, you can have your doors automatically lock every night at 10:00 PM or have your indoor camera record a clip whenever the front door is opened.
Vivint has an outdoor camera called the Vivint Outdoor Camera Pro. The camera includes two-way talk, hybrid wired Wi-Fi connection, a customizable surveillance zone, a 4K sensor with 1080p quality with HD zoom, a wide-angle lens with a 140-degree view, and night vision. The camera even includes what Vivint calls Smart Sentry™, which is an LED ring light on the camera that lights up and plays an alert sound to let intruders know they've been spotted.
When the camera detects motion and a person is in the camera's view for too long, that's when Smart Sentry™ is triggered. You can customize notifications so that the camera will notify you when any person approaches. If you want notifications to be more specific, you can set the alert to only notify you when someone may be loitering. The camera also automatically records 20-second auto recordings whenever something triggers the camera's motion detectors.
By using the Vivint Smart Home app, you can also access live feed of your camera at any time as well as past footage that is stored in your Vivint Smart Drive. The drive saves continuous footage for up to 30 days.
If you don't want to install the camera(s) yourself, the alarm company offers professional installation and will synch your Wi-Fi, your outdoor camera(s), and your Vivint Smart Home products together, so all of your devices are connected.
Vivint charges customers a $99 move fee if you transfer services to a new residence within the first year of a signed contract. Many home security companies offer moving services completely free of charge.
Vivint requires 42- or 60-month contracts for its security services if you choose to finance your products. Although contracts are common within the home security industry, typically they only last up to 36 months.
The upside to a long contract is Vivint gives you the choice of a zero-percent interest loan for the length of the contract, which may make the long-term contract worth it for some customers.
Customers can get a Vivint alarm system starting at $29.99 per month for monitoring, with no activation fee or equipment fee. This basic monitoring also requires the purchase of a Starter Kit, which includes one touchscreen hub, two door/window sensors, one motion sensor, and $100 in sensors.
Although this is a relatively low monthly monitoring fee, expanding to home automation products and adding cameras will increase this monthly service cost and require you to either pay upfront for or finance the product cost. Like some other security providers, Vivint does not list its specific pricing for its home security system on its website, so you will need to call Vivint's customer service reps to gather all pricing information.

Vivint Frequently Asked Questions
What comes as standard equipment in Vivint home security packages?

Typically, the Starter Kit will include the touchscreen Vivint Smart Hub control panel, a Vivint yard sign and light, two door/window sensors, a motion sensor, and $100 worth of customizable equipment. Most customers also opt for at least one or two security cameras and a few additional pieces of equipment.
What is Vivint’s cancellation policy?
In most cases, a customer can cancel within their right of rescission (three days) without any penalty. After that, the customer is required to pay the remaining balance of the service and equipment for the life of the agreement.
Does Vivint require an installation or activation fee?
Vivint typically charges a $49 install fee, which is the least expensive professional installation fee in the industry. It does not charge an activation fee.
Does Vivint run a credit check?
Vivint will run a credit check if the customer intends to finance the equipment. If the customer pays upfront for the equipment, no credit check is needed.
How much does Vivint professional monitoring cost?
Vivint’s monthly monitoring service starts at $29.99 per month.
Do you own your Vivint home security equipment?
Once a customer pays off their equipment, they own it. The vast majority of customers finance the equipment over 60 months.
What devices can you use to access your Vivint cameras?
Customers can access their Vivint camera feeds through the Vivint Smart Home app which is compatible with most smartphones and tablets. It is not compatible with Kindle tablets or older flip phones.
Great. Your reps have been knowledgeable, caring and I have had great great experiences.

the most disappointing. Would not recognize my referals. Not a very friendly costumer service
My sensors went off and they were able to reset from there end I would recommend this company its the best always there to answer and take on any task thanks vivid would 'nt trade you for no one
Lousy ! Customer service is a joke ! On phone for 25 - 45 minutes for them to pickup. No system in place for return call and not wait on line.
the service could be a little faster. the 2nd keyboard needs to be improved for seniors and people with hearing lose. i used another company before switching and they gave me the same panel .
Very positive, excellent response time to an alarm
Mr. James Carl Shields, Jr.
I would like for Vivint to do an independent review of its initial customer service call in lines. As a consumer I find it most prevalent that in calling into large company one speak or shall I say it an automated phone answering service. This service often when a caller is seeking to speak with a Person younare given another phone number or link sent to you to go to. Then there you dealing again with AI. You spend so much time being routed to everywhere but what you requested through the initial call. I believe if calls are recieved by a Person the caller would spend less time on a call to resolve the caller's problem. Thank you. I would like tonhear by about this issue that is near to my heart as I consider myself a true customer service oriented observer in all aspects of dealing with call backs to all companies.
Not thrilled my sensor in my garage door fell into the door which doesn't allow it to be picked up by alarm system. I have called and nothing happens. The o e at my back door pops out half the time. The workmanship was just horrible!!!
The young men were very knowledgeable and competent. They answered our questions and offered suggestions for what would work best for us.
Very satisfied with product. The camera pictures üì∑ are very clear
Salesman pressured into sale. Would not recommend to other military families.
Honestly, I feel like I am throwing my money away. We only activated vivnt so we could have a doorbell camera, and that did not get installed; it's sitting on our counter. What's the point, really?
My experience with the staff has been awesome from the guys who did the instillation to London the person who I signed up with, my cameras work really well a few things I would fix but I'm not sure if its because of my settings or just where the cameras are mounted I have a small blind spot
Very quick to respond when alarm triggers . Very professional
Happy with the service and the products with Vivint
Bad products that doesn't work properly and I don't want to keep contacting customer service
It is very difficult to communicate with your customer service. I cannot understand them with their heavy foreign accents. They have difficulty grasping the nature of my concerns. I would prefer a service provider with USA based representatives.
it hasnt been the greatest. I was told that when i paid in full for my equipment i wouldnt be charged until i install and use my service. I have been dealing with a lot of personal changes at home and have not had time to install the system that I paid for in full.. so i am not expecting to get charged.. but they continue to try to charge me and tell me that they are giving me a grace period.. you cant give me something that was already stated. so i am not sure how i feel about Vivint.
Nothing but great. Alarm goes off and you get a call very quickly.
Poor I changed companies to Vivint. Was informed that we would make one payment to them and they would pay the leasing company for equipment. Well that didn't happen and I was reported to credit bureau. Even after explaining situation they didn't care. I cannot wait until contract is up.

Great service and easy to use, top notch technology
Poor to fair customer service. Did not let me know that I needed a permit for the service.
Service has been excellent from sales to installation to service
Reliable, very good, equipment is user friendly, and so far now down time
Absolutely terrible. Two separate occasions now I have needed to view important events from the indoor camera. Both times the camera happened to be recorded an event every couple of minutes. I figured they could go back and pull the event anyways but there was no help with this. Was told I was out of luck. Pretty terrible I am paying almost $100 a month for Vivint and when I really need to use my services both times I could not receive the help I needed.
Sales team was really good. Install team was okay at best. Left a mess and some of the equipment that was installed like the door sensors fell out. At to reinstall them.
I love it. Allows me to access everything in my home and is flawless.
Exceptional from introduction to installation.
Poor customer service and long waiting times on phone calls
Ok but the system does at times some strange things. Like turning it self on and off, or you check before entering and it tells me it is disarmed, but alarm sounds after entering.
It's a great system, however from time to time when arming and disarming it spins like its struggling to connect.
Felt sucked in by door to door salesman.
Not good, awful to get ahold of support. Billing is a nightmare & discounts and reimbursements never showed up. Not worth the time trying to get ahold of someone to handle it. Most regretted purchase of 2020
Poor cheap equipment keeps falling off the wall my panel keeps telling me my door has been opened and it hasn't it's been closed all day. My glass break never got set up and motion detector fell off the wall also I call customer service scared and freaked out about it saying my door was opened while I was sleeping and they said they couldn't help me they said my password was wrong I said it's the same as the panel so I hung up couldn't sleep and the next day while sitting in the living room the panel starts telling me the door is open can't set alarm if I do it won't be triggered if it does get opened
System works great. My complaints are how fast the thermostat batteries have to be changed and how often i have problems with my camera over the garage.
Excellent overall. The system is excellent. Very clear footage. We love the doorbell addition. Installation went smooth and would highly recommend Vivint for anyone's needs.

Great experience. Not one issue major nor minor.
Not impressed. They were not forthcoming with their pricing and did not follow through with promised incentives. The equipment is easy to use but the camera only records when activated by motion
Can't stand this company all they do is lie about there contracts with hidden fees if they tell you, you have 30 days to cancel service they're lying right to your face you have 3 not 30 days
High quality and very reliable. Great system and good price
Service has been good However, I feel it is unnecessary to purchase the hardware on a line of credit. I felt I was misled but by then it was too late.
Great service and good clarity. Works as advertised
No complaints here. Easy to use and manage. Adds peace of mind for my family.
Mediocre system. Constantly goes off in the middle of the night for no reason.
Good. Our camera is hit and miss on detection.
Horrible. Sales person lied about every factor of the sale. And don't call me

Very good & effective in deterring people who approach the property. Feel safe in home and when away from home.
Multiple issues with phone connectivity to system and thermostat still not functioning properly
Experience has been good except we didn't get the motion sensor that we were told we would get.
its been ok, but not the best. our home thermostates were horrible, we had to change them back to the original ones we had. next, for some reason our cameras and door sencors shut off automatically for no reason, sometimes saying battery dead. i dont understand why the battery is dead if we've only had them for about 4 months.
