The wi-fi wireless system was working perfectly until the August upgrade that crashed everything. We called so many times it was a bloody joke. Different case numbers, other options of fixing, and then finally, the new one arrived. Aug 15 to October 1 no operating system and luckily no problems. When and if this system dies we will never purchase from Lorex again.

The system was quite difficult to get up & running when I bought it 2 years ago (I am NOT a techie) but I got good support from Lorex. I'm very surprised with this latest update, that it wouldn't be all set to go before they shut down my system for over a week?! (not the first time it's been shut down either) I'm just a pee-on consumer who isn't that affected- pity the business that relies on their video systems!

I ordered their 2K wired door bell camera because I wanted local storage vs. paying for a monthly fee. The set up was pretty easy and straightforward and it worked for a couple of months. One day, there was a strange image on one of my alerts so I called them. The rep was completely clueless and couldn't figure out much. Since I wasn't home, I waited until I returned home to call again. I got the same rep and supposedly he figured out it was the SD card. He sent a follow up email, asking for some of the same information I had already given him but I replied and supplied the information anyway. Days went by and no response. He called and left a message, saying he had information and the same day he left that message, I got an email saying they could not reach me at the phone number. Really? So I called again and got some woman who was more clueless and then asked me to do things before they would send the SD card. So why wasn't I asked for this in the email or during the 95 minutes on the phone the 1st. We paid a handyman to install the camera and we had to have him come back to uninstall to pull the SD the first time. If you needed information, why not do it then? I got the BBB involved to get my SD card but why don't companies do what they are supposed to do?

All was working great till the firmware update. Got the dreaded white Lorex screen. Finally spoke to tech support who advised system not compatible and would receive another system in 10 - 15 days. Have not received any emails or call as I was told I would.

Lorex security camera has been average for my use. We encounter many issue that has no resolution and contacting the company for support left much to desire. Updated software are almost non-existence. The camera works from time to time, but it requires alot of configuring on our behalf. The product is great when it is working, but useless dud when not.

This equipment is pretty simple to set up and operate. The price for what you get if fair. There is much better equipment available that have better quality cameras and DVR's for similar costs. I would look for other manufacturers to compare cost and quality before buying this brand again
