Not always the cheapest anymore but USAA provides some pretty fantastic insurance, especially if you bundle. I did recently shop my auto coverage and State Farm offered me a substantial discount I chose not to change tho. USAA is just too hard to beat in the customer service department.

I had USAA on a previous home which I rented out after moving. My tenant did $14,000 of damage when they left. The inspector they sent to see the damage called it normal wear and tear, so they didn't cover anything. Holes in the walls, destroyed ceiling fans, crushed door handles, holes in bedroom doors, destroyed carpet (dumped oil and paint), and rotted floor from unreported water leak are not normal wear and tear.

I have been with USAA for more than 23 years. They are definitely hard to beat when it comes to customer service. The one con is that they have become more on the higher price level when it used to be that most other insurance companies could not complete with them.

Great company providing products and services. Greatly appreciate the relationship I have with USAA. I had several insurance policies with them previously. The main reason for my switch away from them is due to them not being competitive with home insurance. I am still doing business with them and have for a number of years.

Not much happens to the recently bought house unless Mother Nature plays her role. Then you find out that in most cases, the deductible (which is 2% of the house price) is the more or the exact amount of the repeat. In this case, where is the reason for such high monthly payments if the insurance wants help when it is most needed?
