I had Erie Insurance for many years for home, auto, and personal property. They dropped me unceremoniously last year with a terse notice, indicating that because I had made a claim (water damage to basement after a storm), they had chosen not to renew the policy. I called them to complain but was told this was my second such claim in 7 years so I was too high a risk. Dropped. I went elsewhere —Safeco—got better coverage and a better rate.

Was with Erie for almost 20 years Home and Auto. Not one claim. No accidents. They raised my premiums 80% in one year with no explanation. Had to drop them. Loyalty means nothing to them.
