If you're looking for savings, you'll find discounts at each company although Allstate offers a few more than Amica.

DETAILS

DO NOT use ALLSTATE INSURANCE or Dan B. My home was pelted with 1.5" of hail and my roof has a million dents! Allstate Insurance says this is "COSMETIC DAMAGE". My opinion is very different... Allstate nor Agent Dan B cares about your property. They only care about profits. Dan B did nothing to help our family. He told me "we will just deny your claim for some other reason". Five months of fighting with them. Unbelievable treatment of a customer, I've never seen anything like this. FIRE THEM!!

The Final Word

Both companies offer the standard home insurance coverage. Amica stands out because it also offers extended home insurance, home business, and its signature Platinum Choice ® Home coverage options. With these options, you can balance coverage and cost.

Amica also offers dividend home insurance policies. Premiums are sometimes higher on these policies, but you'll receive dividend payments ranging between 5 and 20 percent of the annual premium. Dividend home insurance isn't a common offering, so Amica is a good choice if you're interested in dividend payments.

Although Allstate doesn't offer options the same way Amica does, it does offer riders that add coverage. Through these riders you can balance coverage and cost. Allstate also offers a HostAdvantage® policy that offers coverage if you rent out your furnished home.

Both Amica and Allstate offer discounts, which make it easy to save on your home insurance policy. Discounts are available from both companies for having multiple policies, loyalty, signing up for autopay, being claim-free, and installing detection or protective devices in your home.

Amica also offers a credit for new or remodeled homes.

Allstate offers discounts for responsible payment, being a new homeowner or buying a newly built house, and an early signing discount. If you're looking for discounts, Allstate offers more than Amica does.

Although you'll find good coverage from either company, Amica is recommended if you're looking for more pre-set policy options, home business coverage, or a dividends policy. On the other hand, Allstate offers riders that allow you to customize your coverage and offers more discounts. It also stands out with its HostAdvantage® policy if you're planning to rent your home.
