Thomasville grew to become what they are today from truly humble beginnings. Dating back to 1904, they were in business selling what was called the “Thomasville Chair”. This item was so popular, a product line grew and over time became what they have today. Currently, they are still headquartered in Thomasville, North Carolina. They have over 150 independently owned stores as well as over 400 leading independent retailers selling their products.

They have created two of the most popular furniture collections on the market: Ernest Hemingway, The Collection of a Lifetime and Humphrey Bogart. These and other collections have given significant value to their customers in homes throughout the country. There is a large supply of furniture items to choose from when shopping with these seasoned professionals. The categories offered on their site include the living room, dining room, bedroom, office, entertainment, cabinetry, and design. This diversity allows shoppers to find all their furniture related needs all from one place. Not only are the products being offered diverse, the quality is also high throughout all of the different types of furniture. Being in business since 1904 makes these furniture providers seasoned to say the least. Having more experience than other competitors is a valuable characteristic for a number of reasons. Primarily, the longer a business has been operational the stronger a customer base that business usually has. It is a fair assumption when evaluating a furniture store to give extra credit to a company that has been through the battles and has come out on top. That value with Thomasville can be found in their stylish and durable furniture items as well as their many locations. Currently, they have over 150 independently owned stores and 400 independent retailers offering their furniture.

The Bad

No sales/promotions tab

Furniture expenses can be pricey. It is a valuable resource to have when a home furniture provider offers multiple items on sale or a discount and these items are easy to locate on a company website. A sales or promotions tab accomplishes this for many other stores. It is unfortunate that no tab like this exists on Thomasville's website. Although there is no tab, they do have a few promotions running throughout the site that are of high value. These promotions and sales do change from time to time. Furniture items are bulky, heavy, and consequently expensive to ship. Companies that are able to provide free options for shipping can have a significant impact on the value provided to a customer making a purchase. Unfortunately, they do not have any free shipping plans or promotions at this time. While this is not unlike many other furniture stores as far as large items of furniture are concerned, it is a negative for some popular smaller items.

Quality and style are at the heart and soul of the furniture created by Thomasville. They are constantly creating innovative and durable products to enhance the living in your home. They also offer a wide variety of products and have been in business for a long time. Unfortunately, there are no sales or promotions tab on the home page and no free shipping. For these reasons, we do not recommend them at this time.

Thomasville will certainly have my attention if I'm looking for high quality. Most of my lifelong furniture pieces are from Thomasville as they hold a grasp on well made heritage pieces that will last a lifetime. I have never been dissatisfied with what I have purchased as their sales team is great at informing of the intrinsic value of their pieces. You get what you pay for and feel great about it !

Thomasville offers a beautiful showroom, full of finely crafted pieces of furniture. My husband and I spotted our bedroom set while browsing through the showroom one day. The image stuck in my mind and I had to convince him to go back. We have enjoyed our set for a few years now and I am so grateful to the sales associate for helping to "reel" my husband in!
