  • Other Offerings

Customized New Era Health Plans can include insurance coverage for hospital stays, check-ups, therapy, and lab tests. Clients can also work with their agent to add a supplement plan like dental and vision coverage or other add-on benefits.

Free Market Philosophy

People with New Era Health Plans do not need to worry about in-network or out-of-network coverage because New Era Health Plans operates with a Free Market Medicine philosophy, a free market economics approach applied to medicine.

The Bad

  • Minimal Customer Insight
  • No Instant Quotes
  • Limited Availability

Minimal Customer Insight

New Era Health Plans has not received many reviews on BestCompany.com. It would be nice to have more inisght to the customer experience. However, New Era Health Plans's website speaks to its professionalism.

If a custom-designed, free-market health plan makes sense to you, the company is worth exploring further.

No Instant Quotes

New Era Health Plans does not provide online instant quotes. Instead, you have to schedule a consultation with an agent because the insurance coverage is customized. During the consultation, potential clients discuss what they need in an insurance policy and learn more about what health insurance premiums and out-of-pocket expenses would look like.

Fortunately, it is easy to schedule a consultation from the company’s website using a form or with a telephone call.

Limited Availability

New Era Health Plans offers its services in 32 states. The website does not specifically name the states. If you do not live in one of these states, a New Era health insurance policy may not be an option for you.

The Bottom Line

New Era Health Plans offers specialized assistance to people seeking an affordable, customized health coverage policy. New Era's free market approach to health insurance makes it stand out from other carriers in the insurance industry. With health insurance plans from New Era, clients can choose their health care providers and go to the hospital without worrying about a health insurance network. If you prefer more traditional health insurance, you'll need to buy from another insurance provider.

Because of the level of personalization available with its insurance products, potential clients must meet with a consultant in order to receive a quote and more information on specific benefits, the monthly payment, and out-of-pocket expenses.

New Era Health Plans is available in 32 states. Although New Era Health Plans doesn't have enough reviews for a full recommendation, it is a good option to consider if you’re self-employed, travel frequently, or seeking a customized health insurance policy.

The agent didn't listen well to what we wanted, and since we were stuck we took the (wrong) coverage. After a heart attack scare sending me to the hospital via ambulance, insurance co. said they would pay for emergency room or overnight observation, but not both.

New Era is awful ! They never pay any claims ... I’ve spent countless and I mean countless hours filing more and more coz codes and hipa forms simce you have to file it all yourself and it’s never enough forms to get paid , as u must pre pay everything and they won’t reimburse you. They are the worse of the worse! I’m cancelling ! Do not use new era or hip nation
