Lindon Farms is a brand branched off of “The Ready Project” with a unique monthly food storage auto-shipment program. This company is a provider of freeze dried and dehydrated food products which are USDA approved and undergo regular third-party inspections and audits, ensuring meals are safe when they are delivered to customers' homes.

The Good

  • Purchase Options
  • Discounts

Purchase Options

The sole aspect that sets this company apart is the delivery of food storage on a monthly auto-shipment program. Each month customers receive a unique storage kit set ranging from entrées to soups and desserts. For example, one month will include soups and vegetables, another will include an assortment of breakfast items, and the next will have an assortment of entrées and sides. There are a total of seven storage kits in this program and, by enrolling, customers receive free shipping.

All meals meet the daily 2000 calorie requirement and many products have a 25-year shelf life.

Not everyone wants to be tied to a monthly auto-ship program, which is why Lindon Farms also offers products in a la carte one-time purchase packaging. Products include entrées, vegetables, fruits and freeze dried storage kits.

Discounts

Lindon Farms sells as little as a seven-day food storage option and up to a three-year supply for one person. Prices are fair with a 360 serving option coming in around $432, whereas some competitors with the same serving size are priced close to $750. Another aspect to consider if trying to save some money is to join the email newsletter list. By doing so, shoppers receive an automatic 25% discount on their first order.

The Bad

  • Product Limitations
  • Lack of Educational Materials

Product Limitations

This company offers such an assortment and variety of fruits, however, we would like to see more of a vegetable and bean product line incorporated into their product list, as well as more meat options. It seems that back in 2013 Lindon Farms offered these options (which were USDA approved), but have since removed them from the product list.

Lack of Educational Materials

Educational resources nowhere to be found on the corporate website, though the company does use social media as a source of emergency and food storage education.

The Bottom Line

Being that this company brand is focused on auto shipment, it may not be for everyone. But those seeking the convenience of these kinds of programs may be delighted to have an array of high-quality options shipped straight to their door without the hassle of having to re-order.

However, reviews reveal overwhelmingly negative experiences with the company's customer service, so proceed with caution.

I signed up for the monthly subscription. They automatically charge your credit card every month for this service. Things went well for the first two months, but then they charged my CC in June and I haven't seen a food bucket yet. Called them and was assured it would be rectified in 10 business days but I heard nothing. Sent a follow-up email and received no response whatsoever. Called again and asked for a refund to my CC but was told they are experiencing backorders and my shipment would be coming within two weeks. That was a month ago. They have $74.99 of my money but haven't shipped the product and won't refund my money. The food is good, but not worth the hassle given how many other reputable companies are out there these days. They used to be pretty good a few years back. I'm not sure what happened to them, but my recommendation is to stay well clear of this company unless you like paying for stuff you aren't going to receive.

I ordered product on Sept 7, 2017. Have sent 2 emails to their customer service - no response. Tried calling their number - told to leave a message. Can't sign onto site as don't have password. When click on "Forgot your password" link - it doesn't go anyplace. It is now 9/29 and I have not received the product, cannot get on their website to cancel the automatic order or check the order status, cannot reach anyone in their customer service by phone. This feels like a real scam. Calling my credit card company today. Will never order from them again and advise anyone else to go elsewhere for this type of product. Update: After I posted this, I went to my credit card bill and noticed a different phone number by the charge. I called that and got Customer Service for The Ready Project. The woman I spoke with was able to cancel my recurring order as well as the current order which still hadn't been shipped. I told her I had emailed The Ready Project twice, that no one answered the customer service number and it was the worst customer service I had ever had. It didn't sound like I was the first one to say that. She was very nice and I emphasized I wasn't upset with her but the company had lost my business.

I frequently have purchased from Lindon Farms. I like their buckets that you can get for the amount of days you choose. for example you can get a 7 day supply for 1 person all contained in a grab and go sturdy bucket. I have also enjoyed the freeze dried fruits that I have purchased. my family has liked just about everything as well.

Lindon farms is great. They have a good selection of food and the prices are fair. The people are friendly and the food is shelf ready and labeled for our convenience. Would shop there again for food storage any time.

I would not recommened Lindon Farms to anyone. All of their food is coming from CHINA. I've been waiting weeks and still no delivery. Once I realized the food is from CHINA I wanted to cancel my orber, but when I call them the Supervisor tells me is computer application isn't working and he can't help me.Everytime I call customer service I unable to get an answer as to when I will receive it. How can this food be certified with USDA if it's freeze dried ? I am filing a legal formal complaint with the Attorney General's office. Also their advertising is extremely misleading.

We ordered October 7, 2016, and today is October 24, 2016 ans STILL have not received our order! NO COMMUNICATION FROM LINDON FARMS...no response to email , phone call, no answer when you call...no name from person you are leaving a message to. I certainly cannot recommend their customer service. I am disappointed in the reviews I read...no gluten free products?? No sanitary water products?? I wish I had read reviews before ordering. Very disappointed. Never again!

Recommended by AARP, and I took up the offer of a free 72 hour emergency food box. It was supposed to come with a pack pack. Food arrived in cardboard box after 6 weeks- three freeze dried meals and nothing else. $19.99 for shipping? Nothing like the advertisement.

My experience with them has been exactly the same as every one else here. The company appears to be completely fake. Do not order from these people.
