I had a very disappointing experience with Paul Davis Restoration Experts (Birmingham store). The company’s customer service is terrible. They have been extremely unresponsive and unhelpful when it comes to addressing concerns or resolving issues. I have been waiting for a refund they promised months ago, but they keep delaying with vague excuses (e.g. short staffing, lost check). Every time my insurance agent called, he was either told the person who can help is unavailable or given a generic response about how they’re 'working on it’ or ‘have sent the check’, which was never received and did not have tracking number! And, every time I called the corporate office to escalate the issue, I was told they would pass it on the local office and someone would contact me regarding the issue, and I never hear back! This is unprofessional and unacceptable, especially when it comes to handling their customers' money. If you’re considering using Paul Davis, be cautious. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction is alarming. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and honest service.

Paul Davis & company were great to work with. They were there from the very beginning. I had no idea what to do after the fire in our rental unit. They took care of everything & kept us informed of what was happening & what needed to be done. They answered any questions the tenants or I had. They gave us an estimated time that the tenants could move back into their units. They ended up getting them in there earlier than expected. They did an awesome job repairing everything. I would not hesitate in calling them again. I have worked with other before but I can honestly say that I had no headaches or worrying about what needed to be done with Paul Davis. They handled it all. The gave more than 100% & I couldn’t have worked with a better crew than Paul Davis’s guys. They were great.

I was impressed by each person who worked here, except for the guy who worked on the garage door. My husband could have told you exact facts about the garage door, but he passed away. We didn't realize til some time after he finished you could open the door about two feet even tho it was locked. Also the man who put the siding on did an excellent job except for picking up all the nails. The man who put the rocks back on the sides of the garage deserves a medal. It was a perfect job.

They always returned my calls. They always called me when the ywere on their way to give me a heads up. They came out the very same day we called and anytime they said the ywere going to show up, they did. I just felt like they were on top of the job everyday. I went through my insurance company and they directed me to them. Paul Davis Restoration jumped right on it. We had part of our ceiling fall in our closet and they were wonderful... they just were quick did a good job and follow through. After they were done, we went in our closet and you couldn't even tell anything had happened. They even got the carpets to look nice and neat.

They're responsive and keep you informed. They're still working on the cleanup and they haven't been able to dry up the water as quickly as they thought they would but they stuck with it and they've been successful. The caliber of employees is great. I feel comfortable with them in my home even if I'm here alone. And they're also quite knowledgeable. And even if they don't have the knowledge, they always have the resources of Paul Davis, like their supervisor came over today because this has taken slightly longer than they anticipated and they showed them a couple of different things to try.

Great job in cleaning up the water and drying out walls. Poor service on going to Lows and Home Depot and selecting wood paneling. Surprise when our old paneling was $37 a panel and they offered us only $11. Another surprise when to finish off the bedroom you missed the false ceiling and a contractor never showed that you arranged for. We went with Lows for carpet with free labor and had nothing but problems. 4 times they came out and they had to reorder carpet and made huge mistakes. It was a bad experience for us from the Insurance Company Bear River, You the restoration company, Lows carpets. I realize this is the exception, but it happened to up. SUGGESTIONS: Have one person over all the restoration instead of different people for different parts of the business. Your boys are handling 70 to 100 clients at one time. They are over worked and stressed out. You make good money make sure we get good service.

They were very polite and told me everything's gonna be okay. The people who work for them came through to provide the service and really did show empathetic value. They did an excellent job of restoring the home. It took a very long time for that to happen. When it came to the loss of my items, they were here for quite a while taking pictures and inventory of everything that I owned. They didn't send me back any pictures or send it to my insurance company or anybody. It kind of felt like a privacy violation because people were digging through our things.

They were great to deal with, but after moving the furniture that was put away, we realized that it was kind of shoddy work. For example, the guy that they hired for the baseboard, instead of bewing flat to the ground, it was raised up and didn't even touch the floor. It was covered by a bed that used to be there so we never saw that because after the work was done, everything was back how it was. Some of the planks that were replaced weren't laid right and nowthere's gaps in between. Customer service was good.

The restoration work was great but the billing was awful! Our insurance company was billed over and over again for things that weren't done. My husband found carpet at a reduced price, removed the pad and carpet. When he wrote a letter to Paul Davis and also spoke with Nick about getting $400 back for doing that, Nick told him it was insurance fraud. And yet they could bill for things they didn't do. When Glen wrote a letter to the area manager, with our final payment, about this issue, he didn't even have the decency to respond. TERRIBLE!!!

We had a water line break and flood our laundry room 3 days before I was induced with twins. Paul Davis came out very quickly to help mitigate the flooding and start the demo/clean up. Unfortunately we had to leave our house and stay somewhere else. We weren’t able to come home until a little over a week later and the laundry room was still demolished. The repairs hadn’t been done yet. This is where the ball was dropped big time. Repairs/Rebuild wasn’t started until over a month later. There was a massive gap in our exterior doorframe, about 3 inches, where mice we’re coming through and getting into our house. I was very upset especially because we had newborns in the house. Several phone calls and emails later we finally had someone come out and look at the house for the repairs. Our water line break was 7/7/19 and repairs didn’t even start until after 8/14/19. It was absolutely unacceptable.

They were great at first, then as the job went along they were less and less responsive and it went downhill from there. They had an agreement with our insurance company and then they they stopped the work before they were finished because we would not sign a work order which would have given them opportunity to collect more from us. When they gave the bid they got the money from the insurance company and then they pulled out before the job was done and we had to get the insurance company involved to get them to come back and finish it.

Experience has been a huge headache that I have ended having to manage and take extra effort in order to get any progress made in getting a simple job completed. It's not yet completed. I have had to take a lot of time out of my work day in order to get any kind of answer or progress on getting the job completed. Flooring was installed over pieces of cardboard that were on the floor and I've had no bathroom sink and not able to use my bedroom for 2 months now.

The clean up crew was amazing, I would give that crew a 5, however the restoration process was a nightmare. I have doors that don't close, a shoddy paint job, and poor quality work. It was a nightmare getting them to come out each time. I work and have kids and would be home on our "scheduled" appt and they would not show on multiple occasions.

They didn't put the flooring that we requested and agreed upon because they hadn't ordered in time. The job they did on the kitchen floor is pathetic. It sticks up all over the place with the tiling. It's about the worst tiling job you could imagine. The cleanup was good initially, but the work afterwards was poor. Made a mess in the house. Poor clean up.

I wouldn't leave any star's but you have to. The clean up crew were great. It was the sub contractor Scott that I would never let come to my home Ever!!! He left paint on all light and plug outlets on light fixtures and bathroom cabinet's. When he did sanding instead of closing doors he left them open and everything in the utility room was filled with dry wall dust. It took me 2 weeks to wipe down everything. If it wasn't for Dustin M who came and painted and cleaned the paint up that Scott got all over.

Only one dept treated me right...the first. Billing has double billed me, replacement of sheetrock forgot me for two weeks, carpeting 4 weeks and they had to come back because they forgot tack strip. Oh yes gas left for extra 1.5 days missed my appt. Ozone machine he forgot to deliver to my house. Garage stink like cigarette smoke. Unpacking...can't find hardware. Blew breaker on freezer lost food....want me to go on?
