Green Dot Platinum

I think this card is great. It’s so easy to make an instant payment. You literally go to a local participating gas station, pay a $4.95 fee along with your payment amount. And your payment is posted within 15 min and your credit is available on the card as well. So it’s the most convenient secured card out there.

Green Dot Platinum serves as the card with the most flexibility. I use it often and have been rewarded for doing so with great service, safe transactions, and added flexibility. And I like being rewarded.

GreenDot has the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. I don't know how they're still a company. The locked my account because they needed "verification of my identity" which they already had, but when I complied and sent them copies of my ID , and a half dozen other forms of identification. They said all my government issued paperwork couldn't verify who I was, so they closed my account, with a three thousand dollar deposit frozen inside. They wouldn't return the money to the company that deposited it into my account after they closed it. They also tried to take monthly fees out of the account for over three months...I got hung up on over 27 times in a single day dealing with GreenDot.. I'm. A single mom and was depending on the money that was in that account , the account I had had for over two years... It took NINE MONTHS and a call to the BBB before they finally did what they were supposed to do and return the thousands of dollars that didn't belong to them. However, they did slap me with a life time ban from ever holding an account with anything associated with greenDot. They do also still send me card offers in the mail multiple times a month despite my lifetime ban... Very unorganized, very unprofessional, very rude. 10/10 would NEVER recommended them to anyone i cared about.

Intuit signed me up for a GreenDot card, without my permission. It took 4 days to figure out that who was responsible - Green Dot or Intuit. Both claimed I didn't have an account. Green Dot finally admitted that someone had set up an account in my name, and my refund was there. They then refused me access, saying I would need to pay for a new card, and then re-set up an account, all the while, my social and date of birth failed to bring up an account in their automated system. The first rep 'blocked' the account, and then hung up on me. The second refused to do anything until I sent her my driver's license, Social, and utility bill to an unsecured email. Given that they'd pretty much admitted to allowing somoene to steal my identity, I was not willing to do so. She then said she could try to have someone call me back, but it could take up to a month for anything to get fixed. I know it's pennies on the dollars. But it's not even the tax refund now - my identiy is possibly been stolen and their response was to make it worse. Not better.

Stay from GreenDot platinum credit card. They very slow to report to the credit bureaus. If you go over your credit limit or maybe late with a payment. GreenDot will report that negative to the bureaus. And that payment history with stay on your credit report. Because they will not report the change. One month negative payment history been on my credit report for five months. Greatly affecting my score. Look like GreenDot have stop reporting to the bureaus. Also watch out for pop-up fees that put you over the credit limit. As you learn to use your card with discipline. (30 Percent Usage) GreenDot will kill your spirit. Stay away from GreenDot platinum credit card.

This card/company sucks. They have no live customer service. They hold deposits for outrageous lengths of time. They have held my Hertz rental car deposit for 20 days and told the Hertz representative that they will not release it for 60 days even though Hertz told them I had a zero balance. I will be cancelling as soon as the release comes off.

I was having a tough time getting a bank account so I got this card. It's helped rebuild my credit and have an account similar to having a bank account

It was okay but I bank with US Bank now I'm yet to have one from them
