DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY-THE CHIEF CLIENT SERVICE OFFICER THREATENTED LEGAL ACTION AGAINST ME AND TO SEND ME TO COLLECTIONS AFTER SHE OFFERED TO REFUND MY MONEY. I AM SURE SHE DID NOT DO THIS WITHOUT THE MELEN BROTHERS KNOWLEDGE. I showed evidence in writing they did not meet the requirements of the agreement. I have many emails to prove it. Smartsites offered to refund my money, but then after making the offer, threatened that I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, signing away my rights to free- speech, because they did not want me writing this review, telling you about their abusive, bullying and threatening tactics in how they treat clients. See some THREATENING COMMUNICATIONS from Anita K, CCSO, as evidence below. I had to dispute the payments on my credit card and I won the case because I had so much evidence of Smartsites not delivering on the commitments of the agreement I signed after just 3 months of the 12 month term. And I had Anita K, CCSO, in writing offering to refund my money, then threatening me to sign an NDA. I won the case. But that did not stop Anita and Smartsites. The Melen brothers tactics are to attack their clients that they cannot control. So they had Kristina call me threatening me that they were going to send me to collections AFTER they offered to refund my money, threatened me with legal action, lost their case in the dispute with my bank. THEY CANNOT ACCEPT THE FACT THAT I AM GOING TO WRITE THIS REVIEW AND THEY CANNOT STOP ME. I am a start-up company, brand new. No income. And spent $8000 with Smartsites. They are coming after ME. Just think what they will do to you. They are relentless, heartless, vicious savages. I cannot believe the 5-star ratings are real. How many employees, friends and family reviews are included in there? How many other clients did they bully into signing an NDA so they would not write a bad review? I am certain I am not the only one. DON’T LET THE NEXT VICTIM BE YOU. As a summary of the extensive misses and poor performance, I will leave you with this synopsis. I did not sign a contract stating I agreed to rollover hours from one month to the next. I also did not agree that when I sign off on the deliverables for each month that they could miss the deadlines and deliver them in the next month. They did not complete the deliverables for month 1 in the 3 months I worked with Smartsites and they did not deliver 40 hours per month. They were over 60 hours behind and not delivering results. When I started, my website had a Google rating of 85. After 2 months, it was 65. I notified Anita K, CCSO, that I had a report run and found this alarming. A month later, nothing had changed. She could not explain and did not try to. I expressed to Anita how poorly Kymber, my PMO, and Kolbe, my PPC rep, were performing for me. The team that does the SEO work behind the scenes does elementary level work. I had them rewrite the copy for my website it was so poor. AFTER ALL THESE ISSUES WERE POINTED OUT IN JUST THREE MONTHS, THAT’S WHEN ANITA OFFERED ALL MY MONEY BACK THEN BACKTRACKED WITH THREATS OF LEGAL ACTION AND COLLECTIONS. I will continue to make public my experience and any additional threats I receive from Smartsites. I will keep you posted. November 2, 2023 Please sign the attached termination agreement so that we can proceed as discussed on the phone. This agreement is important to maintaining client confidentiality and protecting both parties' interests. It contains standard clauses seen in many business agreements and helps maintain a professional relationship. Unfortunately, our billing team will not be able to accept the chargebacks if you cannot agree to a fair resolution as outlined in the agreement. I would love to avoid unnecessary fighting of chargebacks and legal actions, can we please just sign this termination agreement and move on peacefully? I really appreciate your cooperation! TL:DR, Don't believe the hype with smartsites. Mediocre seo strategy, a culture of no accountability and high costs for poor to no results. *********** I was duped by the great reviews on smartsites. We entered into a contract for managed PPC and SEO. Right away there were a few red flags, but I thought since they have such great reviews let's give them a little time. First bad decision. The PPC 'team' could not figure out a very basic FB pixel issue. Over 6 weeks of back and forth for a minor problem that turned out not to be a problem at all! They were supposed to fix the campaign structure. This never got done. They used the same setup that was already there. They did not even change any audience structure. Every time you bring up an issue to these guys they say, 'let me check with my team'. I heard that more than 10 times. By the way they are outsourcing all work overseas. This wouldn't be a bad thing if they got results. The strategy from the SEO 'team' was very basic. No creativity at all. Each time I raised concerns, again I was met with 'let me check with my team and get back to you'. It would take at least a week to get back to me. Overall our traffic dropped more than 50% in the time they took over. Smartsites charges block time starting at $2000 for 40 hours / per month. When I tried to cancel and get my last payment refunded due to the fact there is no way possible they did 40 hours of work, they fought to the death. All in all we paid them $7500 over the course of 3 months to lose us a ton of money and cause a lot of damage. I wish they would have worked on our account half as hard as they fought to not give us any type of refund. The owners Alex and Mike would never reply to any of my emails. It appears that the culture of no accountability starts at the top.
