The Good

  • Built to Last
  • Versatile Usage
  • Convenient and Simple
  • Unique Design for Smoother Blend
  • 5-Year and 10-Year Warranties
  • Discounts and Donations

Built to Last

Vitamix’s blenders are built to last through years of use in the kitchen. The blades are composed of aircraft-grade stainless steel and designed to handle the most difficult ingredients maintaining consistent quality each use. Dedicated to creating long lasting motors in its blenders, Vitamix engineers have worked for decades to optimize airflow circulation around the motor providing a quieter and more reliable blender.

Vitamix also uses a metal drive system to connect the container to the base extending the lifespan of its blenders. Additionally, Vitamix blenders prevent overheating through an overload protection. Vitamix’s durability is evident though blenders becoming family heirlooms that are passed down through generations.

Versatile Usage

Vitamix blenders aim to make homemade, healthy foods easy. There is a vast variety of techniques available included in each of its models. These include:

  • Hot soups
  • Baby food
  • Flours and dough
  • Nut butters
  • Frozen desserts
  • Batters
  • Dressings and sauces
  • Non-dairy milks
  • Dips and spreads
  • Minced, chopped, shredded, and grated kitchen prep

On the company’s website, consumers can access recipes ranging from Basil Walnut Pesto to Gluten-Free Bean Flour to make with their Vitamix blender.

Convenient and Simple

While other blenders require different attachments to achieve a similar versatility that Vitamix offers, Vitamix requires only one pitcher and a tamper, reducing additional pieces to clean and store. For a sophisticated blender, Vitamix provides user friendly controls. Users can adjust the speed manually through its 10 variable speeds. The pulse setting offers users control through a quick burst of power. Through the blender’s five automatic settings, users can walk away with assurance that the blend will not be over processed.

Every Vitamix comes with a tamper to efficiently process the thickest blends without any scraping required. Although the Vitamix is not dishwasher safe, it is self-cleaning by adding warm water and a couple drops of dish soap at the blender’s highest speed for about 60 seconds.

Unique Design for Smoother Blend

Components of the Vitamix are designed to create its uniquely controlled vortex that proficiently folds ingredients back to the blades creating smoother blends. Through an independent, third-party test, Vitamix proved its high performance results by demonstrating the ability of its full-size blenders to break the cell walls of food providing smoother textures and enhanced flavors.

5-Year and 10-Year Warranties

Vitamix stands by the quality of its blenders with notable warranties in the industry. Depending on the model selected, Vitamix blenders come with five-year or ten-year warranties that cover parts, performance, and return shipping both ways at no additional cost to the consumer. Other blender companies provide much more limited warranties for shorter periods of time and require the consumer to pay for shipping.

Discounts and Donations

It is evident that Vitamix is passionate about the vitality of people’s lives through whole food nutrition as it works to make its blenders accessible to those who need them most. Vitamix offers discounts to parents of children who have feeding or swallowing challenges. The company also partners with 501(c)(3) organizations to make whole food nutrition more accessible. The Bad

  • Expensive Price Tag

Expensive Price Tag

Vitamix blenders cost upwards of $350.00, making them some of the more expensive blenders on the market. This may price out some consumers who cannot afford the upfront cost of a Vitamix. However, Vitamix does provide certified reconditioned blenders for a discounted price. Vitamix blenders that are certified reconditioned go through a rigorous 17-step checklist, and once the blender is reconditioned, it goes through two additional inspections before it is available for sale.

The Bottom Line

Vitamix blenders are some of the most high performing, durable, and versatile blenders on the market for commercial and home use. The merit of Vitamix is evident through its use throughout the world, both commercially and in the home, as well as the company’s 99 years of experience in the industry.

Although it is more expensive than other blenders on the market, Vitamix is unique in its robust warranties. Consumers can be assured that they will not need to buy another blender for five or ten years, potentially balancing out the cost for consumers that can afford one upfront. Vitamix also offers certified reconditioned blenders that have gone through a rigorous process for a discounted price that also include a warranty.

The blenders are expensive but have some features that we consider below the quality level we expect (although their customer service denies our concerns are justified): 1: the pour-spout on the container drips almost every time 2: the container is not snug on the body of the blender (as engineers know vibration is trouble) 3: the center spindle is not tight (as engineers know vibration is trouble) The thing is also incredibly noisy: put your hands over your ears ! ! ! ! Also: the cover of the container is a little difficult to clean. Other than THAT: the auto-smoothie setting is very helpful; the machine makes AMAZING 'ice cream' from frozen fruit; it makes HOT SOUP ! It seems a bit overpriced but the 7-year warranty somewhat compensates for that.

The 5200 model I have is excellent. I made the mistake of upgrading to a new A3500 and I hate it. Its supposed to have technology to know what type of pitcher but it doesn't recognize the Aer pitcher or Dry pitcher. It turns on when it feels like it. I've already sent it in for servicing once and I still has the same issues. If you get once get the original model.

Vitamix blenders have certainly upped my health game, providing nutrient-packed smoothies and drinks. However, the drawback is the price, which can be a bit steep. The quality is evident, but it may not fit everyone's budget. Overall, a four-star choice for health-conscious individuals willing to invest in their well-being.

Great blender does exactly what it should. My only negative is that if I run it more than a minute straight it starts to smell like it is overheating. Not sure if this is a problem across all Vitamix machines or just mine.

So, my family blends a lot and my husband somehow destroys every blender with his thick protein smoothies. The power and capacity of the Vitamix is amazing and it hasn't broken (yet).
