We got a KitchenAid blender as a gift and one time while blending a drink the black rubber gasket deteriorated into the drink. Thankfully it was a light colored drink so we could see what happened. I can't imagine if it was a darker drink and we actually drank plastic! I would not buy another KitchenAid blender due to this experience.
