Years of mergers and acquisitions have brought the company to its modern name, Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company, better known as M&T Bank. The bank prides itself on being a community bank in close relationship with its local branch communities across the eastern United States, from New York to Virginia. Its main selling point is its flexible banking options and customizable checking accounts. The customizable add-ons for personal checking accounts have a monthly subscription fee-along with a few more requirements than promoted that make its economic benefits questionable.

My entire family and I have had both checking and savings accounts through M&T bank for years. I love the ease of the app, very user friendly. You can even take a picture and deposit your check without having to go anywhere! We have never had any issues with our accounts and we even have credit cards through the bank.
