The Bad

  • Online bank
  • Higher risks

Online Bank

Capital One is mostly on online bank. For those that like to physically go to an office there are only 1,000 branches in New York, New Jersey, Texas, Louisiana, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. This bank is great for residents in those states however for the other 43 states there is no accessibility to branches or ATM's.

Higher Risk

There is a greater risk with using the world wide web to make all banking transactions but this company has had a couple reviews for contacting consumers immediately if fraud is suspected. But there are not as many locations where you can talk to a capital one representative in person. The only way to get human interaction would be through mobile or computer devices with Skype or FaceTime.

The Bottom Line

Capital one is located on the eastern side of the U.S. and have 1,000 branches available. They offer banking for personal, small businesses, and commercial industries. Their focus on creating online banking allows them to decrease fees for checking and saving accounts and eliminating paper for the most part. Great to use if savvy with mobile devices and computers and don't need interaction with capital one employee's. Customers who choose Capital One will have the confidence that they have chosen the financial services of a Fortune 500 company. The Virginia-based company has a wide range of services including personal checking accounts, savings accounts, credit cards and debit cards. Our recommendation: Although it's a relatively new bank, Capital One deserves your consideration when picking a financial organization to bank with.

I currently have Capital One. They have both secured and non secured credit cards depending on which benefits you want. I’ve had my card for a few years, always on time with payments. Longevity and on time payments don’t rank though. Because I started off with a secured card, “I am invisible “ I closed out all of my other cards, kept Capital one and now I am at a standstill. No growth or increase in credit, nothing. I get turned down every time. You’re probably wondering, why stay? I’m writing this review a week prior to closing it out and getting a new credit somewhere. Or I may just keep it for historical value and not use it. Hmmm….that’s to be determined right now…

I make payments through Capital One online banking and it is so easy! I really appreciate how their app has most, if not all the information you need. No need for the bank to put limitations or lack flexibility with payments. That is why I highly recommend Capital One.

Have been using this back for a couple of months now. I do like the tap to pay feature they have with their account card. However, if you mobile deposit a check it takes longer than I would like. My other bank is automatic but this one take like three or more days to hit.

Walked into this bank and did not have to scout for any other. Reliable, easy to work with. I wish the checkbooks were free, paid $25 for it but other than that great bank to be associated with.

We went into their branch and they were super helpful and very family friendly (we had 3 kids 3 years old and younger). Their online and mobile app platforms are user friendly and intuitive as well.

I have used Capital One as a bank, used their credit cards, and I have also had a car loan with them. Every instance has been favorable and I am very pleased with their service, good value for the money, and trustworthiness.

I really like my Capitol One card. It offers great rewards and they are great to work with if you have an occasional late payment.

Wish they had the rewards other companies have. I am closing our account as there are no incentives to keep a card open with them.
