Like many other smart baby monitor companies, Lollipop was made by parents for parents.

The Lollipop Smart Baby Camera is a Wi-Fi-based camera that offers various features designed to help parents relax and enjoy life’s precious moments with their baby.

The camera streams video at 1080p at 30 frames per second and is made of a toxic-free silicone that can be molded into a smart makeshift stand or wrapped around a piece of furniture.

The Good

  • Price
  • Purchase Through Amazon
  • Simple Design and Setup
  • Privacy
  • 30-Day Return Policy

Price

When searching for a smart baby monitor, something that may catch your eye is Lollipop’s $150 price tag. However, when compared to other smart monitors, this is incredibly affordable.

Purchase Through Amazon

The Lollipop Smart Baby Camera is sold in several retail locations throughout the United States (check out Lollipop’s website to see if there is one near you). However, most people buy the monitor through Amazon. If you are an Amazon Prime member, you’ll get free two-day shipping.

Simple Design and Setup

Lollipop is unique in its looks. While many smart baby monitors look more like security cameras, Lollipop has a more playful, innocent look to it. It comes in three pastel colors and has a bendable base that you can attach to a piece of furniture or bend into a makeshift stand.

Setting up the camera is reasonably intuitive, and parents can follow the instructions on the app or with the user manual that can be found on the website. It’s concise and shouldn’t take you long — the user manual is only five pages long.

Privacy

Lollipop allows parents to use something called Privacy Mode. This mode makes it, so the audio and video data does not go through the AWS cloud service. Because the audio and video are being streamed through your local Wi-Fi network, this dramatically reduces the risk of someone hacking into your feed.

30-Day Return Policy

If you purchased your Lollipop Smart Baby Camera off the Lollipop website, you have 30 days (from the date of purchase) to request a full refund. Just remember that the product must be in like-new condition and returned in its original packaging.

Also be aware, that the return shipping cost is taken out of your refund amount. Lollipop only pays for the return shipping costs if the return is a result of a company error.

The Bad

  • Additional Costs
  • Bendable Base

Additional Costs

While the price of Lollipop’s Smart Baby Camera is extremely affordable, be aware that if you want access to everything Lollipop has to offer, you’ll pay more than just $150.

The first additional cost is the Lollipop sensor. The sensor measures the room temperature, humidity, and air quality. If you want to keep track of these things, you’ll need to purchase the sensor separately. It costs $55 plus shipping.

Another thing to consider is your subscription level. Lollipop does offer a free subscription, but as you may have guessed, that gives you the minimum amount of features. So if you want to access everything Lollipop has to offer, be prepared to spend a bit more.

Here are the prices for Lollipop’s subscriptions:

  • Basic — Free
  • Advance — $29.90 per year or $2.99 per month
  • Premier — $59.90 per year or $9.99 per month
  • Elite — $119.90 per year or $19.99 per month

Bendable Base

Lollipop’s silicone base is designed to bend and twist into sort of a makeshift stand. However, many consumers complained that when they tried bending the silicone into a stand, it would barely (if ever) stay standing.

This is incredibly frustrating since it’s a huge selling point for many parents. The bendable base makes Lollipop an appealing travel monitor, but if it doesn’t work, it may not be worth trying out.

The Bottom Line

After all our research, we believe that Lollipop Smart Baby Camera is a decent option for parents on a tight budget. The camera is undoubtedly cheaper than most other smart monitors — especially if you forgo the temperature sensor and paid subscription plans.

For the price, Lollipop offers a good amount of features, and it is still an excellent resource for new parents. Plus, if you can get the bendable base in just the proper position, it also makes for a great travel monitor.

Overall, it’s a nice monitor. But there are other monitors in the market that are more advanced and offer more features, so we recommend checking those out before making a firm decision.

The Lollipop baby monitors work great. They are very sensitive and pick up any sounds from the nursery. I would recommend Lollipop to anyone who needs to monitor children.

Love our lollipop monitor. It’s lasted iver 3 years and the only inconvenience is switching WiFi networks or have a weak WiFi connection that makes the monitor not work.

We love this baby monitor. It is a comfort to be able to keep an eye on our baby and also use the white noise!
