We really liked that the available math classes ranged from elementary math to calculus. This provides students in varying grades and ability the chance to improve and learn in essentially all math levels. The science classes offered are also plentiful. Some of these classes include anatomy, biology, chemistry, physics, and physical chemistry. Varsity also offers test prep classes for the ACT, SAT, MCAT, GRE, GMAT, and LSTAT.

Online Tools

Varsity not only provides great courses, but also great online tools to aid in the tutoring process. Each of these tools are a great benefit to the students, and makes the tutoring sessions more effective. These tools include chat, video, whiteboard, and file sharing. The chat tool allows for students to text and talk to their tutors. This allows students to ask any questions, get clarification, or receive further explanations on difficult topics. Some companies only have a text option, but Varsity has the added convenience of letting students talk to their tutors. While Varsity has some really great aspects about their services, they are lacking some transparency. We need more information regarding their pricing and the grade levels they provide tutoring for. These are both extremely important factors when choosing a tutoring service. Clients need to know they can afford the tutoring, and if their students are even able to use the services. Most companies are very upfront with this information, and we feel that Varsity should be as well. We will like their services a great deal more when they provide this information.

No Equation Tools

Most of Varsity's online tools and resources are great, however we were surprised to find they do not offer equation tools. This is especially surprising considering the high levels of math subjects they cover. This is inconvenient and could be expensive to clients. Some classes require a graphing calculator that can be upwards of $100 or more. It would be very beneficial to students and clients if an equation tool was included in the online tools. This would allow all needed tools to be together online, and be less costly than having to purchase a calculator.

Tutor Selection

Varsity pairs students and tutors together based on the location and needs of the student. While this selection process seems logical, we would prefer to see Varsity offer clients the choice of selecting a tutor as well. Some companies in the industry offer both a matched, and select option for their tutors. This allows clients to have a voice in who tutors their students, which can be very important to some clients.
