Limited Search Capability

When it comes to finding a tutor, searching is relatively simple. Users can search by subject or the tutor’s language, level, country, delivery time, and who’s online. 

However, it would be nice if TutorsMedia allowed users to search by price and tutor ratings. While the other search parameters are somewhat helpful, we believe that allowing users to search by price can help those who are restricted by a budget and looking to stay within a certain price range. And adding the capability to search for a tutor based on their star ratings will help users more easily find reputable tutors. 

No Reviews on Website

Something that may be of concern to users is the fact that none of the tutors on the website have any reviews. When searching for help with their studies, students often look at the reviews given by other students on the tutor’s response time, overall knowledge, and ability to teach to determine if they should hire that specific tutor. 

The lack of reviews may be because TutorsMedia is a fairly young company (founded in 2019), and the company is still gaining traction within the industry. Or it could be because students are leaving their reviews elsewhere. No matter the case, it does make it hard for students to trust someone with their education when there are no reviews backing up their claims of expertise and experience. 

Membership Eligibility

TutorsMedia’s services are available only to (and may only be used by) individuals who are 18 years and older. According to the company’s terms and conditions, individuals who are under the age of 17 “must at all times use TutorsMedia services only in conjunction and under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years of age. In all cases, the adult is the user and responsible for any and all activities.”

Also, tutoring services are not meant to be used by children under the age of 13. 

Service Venue

TutorsMedia’s terms and conditions page states, “TutorsMedia acts as a venue to allow users who comply with TutorsMedia policies to offer and seek tutoring services. TutorsMedia is not directly involved in the transaction between buyers and sellers.”

Users should be aware of the following conditions:

• TutorsMedia does not pre-screen users or the content or information provided by users.
• TutorsMedia cannot ensure that a buyer or seller will actually complete a transaction.
• TutorsMedia does not transfer legal ownership of items from the seller to the buyer.
• TutorsMedia cannot guarantee the true identity, age, nationality, or sense of humor of a user.

Essentially, as a user, you must use the service at your own risk.
