The Good

  • Availability
  • Guarantee
  • Unique Features
  • Professionals

Availability

Signature Tax is available in 49 states, they are not available in the state of Colorado. With this range of availability it gives more customers the opportunity to work with Signature Tax. They also have tax resolution services for both individuals and corporations. Signature Tax has large offices across the country including:

  • San Francisco
  • New York
  • Dallas
  • Chicago
  • Atlanta
  • Houston
  • Los Angeles
  • Ft. Lauderdale

Guarantee

Signature Tax offers a 30 day refund policy allowing clients ample time to determine whether or not their services are going to be suitable for their unique situation. This is one aspect not seen often in the tax relief industry. Many corporations offer a few day guarantee or none at all. In some instances we have seen companies offer a partial refund after a few days; we appreciate this solid 30-day money back guarantee. There is also no hidden fees, Signature Tax will give a free consultation and give the client one fee for what services are required for their case.

Unique Features

Signature Tax offers clients a mobile app to have access to their account on the go. They also have a book that helps educate people about tax relief and their options. Soon Signature Tax is also introducing a new credit card. It is a Mastercard that will be called the Signature Tax Plus Card. They also offer 24 hour client care which is rare in the tax debt industry.

Professionals

Signature Tax's team consist of CPAs, Enrolled Agents and other tax professionals. This team works directly under Clifford V. Aaron who has an outstanding educational background in law, economics and tax. Aaron also has over 42 years experience as an active attorney.

The Bad

  • Accreditations
  • Transparency
  • Resources and Tools

Accreditations

Signature Tax does not have the accreditations we would like to see. Some of these accreditations include: National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (ASTPS), and the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP). Accreditations can be an important feature to look for when choosing a company to work with. These associations require accredited companies to keep a certain standard of best practices. This helps to ensure that customers are receiving quality services.

Transparency

Like many tax relief companies, clear price can only be obtained after a thorough evaluation of the financial burden is assessed. We understand this is industry standard; however, several other competing companies do well to inform potential clients of a ballpark range. Some sort of fee-structure would help consumers determine if their burden is worth the cost without having to spend a lot of time on the phone discussing it, or potentially getting wrapped into a sales pitch.

Resources and Tools

Many companies have resources and tools for consumers and clients, and we were pleased to know this company had an actual book concerning all things tax related. Signature Tax Guide to Tax Relief: Guaranteed Solutions to Your Toughest Tax Problems was written by Attorney Clifford Aaron and other professionals; however, we discovered links to purchase the book were broken and when speaking with representatives about purchasing the work, they had no knowledge of it.

The Bottom Line

Signature Tax is available in most states and has many offices across the country. They offer a 30-day money back guarantee and a helpful mobile app. In addition, they hire tax professionals such as CPAs and enrolled agents. However, Signature Tax lack professional accreditations and is not transparent with prices. We recommend exploring other companies.

I paid up front to have some tax issues resolved and almost one year later the only thing that has happened is I owe more taxes than when I started. I have retained a local attorney to represent me with the IRS.
