The Bad

  • Unknown Minimum Debt Requirement and Costs
  • Potential for Marketing Calls

Unknown Minimum Debt Requirement and Costs

You'll need to contact the company to determine eligibility requirements regarding minimum debt and other factors.

The company offers free consultations in order to establish accurate pricing information. In the meantime, it's difficult to gauge costs for Defense Tax Partners' investigation and resolution fees.

Potential for Marketing Calls

Per the terms of the company's website, those who fill out the discovery form indicate that they are open to calls and text messages from Defense Tax and other tax service partners. While these calls are presumably limited to tax-related topics, prospective customers should nonetheless be prepared for communications about relieving their tax debt.

The company does not disclose a minimum debt requirement on its website, but interested individuals may contact the company for more information.

Back Mid 2024 I contacted Defense Tax Partners. Eventually I was passed off to Hope as my agent. In the beginning HOPE was great. Then months went by with no communication (no responses to email, phone calls) IRS saw what happened with my ex partner who racked up over $90k in penalties. IRS agent told Hope to write a letter on my behalf stating I was unaware of all this. to get the penalties waived. Months went by I tried calling and emailing multiple time. That dead line came and went with no responses. After a few month I finally go a hold of Hope and she said it did not matter and that the IRS would not have waived anything. If that was the case then let me get the denial letter from the IRS verses Hope not doing it. Anyway back in January 2025 Hope finally called me (after hounding for a call) to tell me she is still trying to get a hold of the IRS was told she would text me and or email me with updates. Here it is Mid March and still no responses no up date. This is very unprofessional. DO NOT HIRE THEM...FIND ANOTHER FIRM...

After hiring DTG to assist us in resolve a issue with payroll taxes for our business over 2 years ago, not only has the issue not been resolved, but now we have incurred an additional 30K in interest and penalties. While IRS has has it's own hand in dragging their feet (which helped to incur the additional fees), we had our representative switched back and forth, as well as infrequent communication. For the fee we paid upfront, we also ended up retaining an Enrolled Agent accountant with a separate CPA firm. As a result of all of this (all documented) we have been given the run around by 3 different entities. We were never trying to avoid what we owed and missed on our end, we simply wanted assistance and transparency, and that was never provided. I had to explain tax related issues to our representatives (and the IRS Revenue Officer as well; when she could be reached), that as a lay person I wouldn't have expected to not only know, but the fact they the didn't astounded me. In the end, our situation is still not resolved, we had to close the business as it became impossible to continue running with the bank levies and liens that would hold up funds in a business that was already struggling due to COVID issues, making it impossible to make payroll without going into debt. To be clear, everyone we spoke with was kind, and sympathetic, but ultimately they were not transparent in their actual ability to help us resolve. I would have been more understanding if that was what we were told after a certain point. Discouraging and disappointed in the whole experience.

Absolute scammers. They hook you with smooth talking and a small fee to begin with and then they charge you more to actually solve the problem. Scammed me for $3,000 US dollars and didn't fix a thing. What do they care it's not their money.
