Have heard a bunch of people talking about HBO NOW and was pretty excited to finally check it out and catch up on some good shows ive been missing out on. I downloaded the app and set up the free trial and everything to find out not only do they not let me use HBO and claim I need to renew my just started subscription that was the free month trial and pay the 14.99 to use it, but they removed the billing and payment info tab so I cannot even cancel and unsubscribe to get out of it. Ive gone through everything to try to find out how to unsubscribe and it seems the only thing I can do is get someone on the phone to take care of it at this point. Ive messaged on twitter, emailed their support and even sat on the phone on hold for over 2 hours to have nobody answer. All in all, If you wanna get jerked around and have to jump through numerous hoops to try out a service that doesn't even have everything your looking for and waste copious amounts of your time, then HBO NOW is your app!

I just completed a 30 free trial of HBO Now through ROKU. Ii is the worst experience I have ever had. Broken streams, freezes and hardware lockups that I do not have with any other channel on both my ROKU units, one streaming Stick and one console. The absolute worst part is HBO customer service. I could not sign onto the website, always getting a "Subscription needs renewed" message. I finally contacted support and was assured they would fix the sin on problem and then take care of the other problems after I gave them a copy of my purchase invoice and ROKU serial numbers. I sent them off and wrote them again 2 weeks later. The again assured me they were fixing the problem. EVERY time I wanted to watch a different HBO program I had to reset the ROKU box. Support never fixed anything and I was never successful signing on the the website to change settings on my account. Fortunately I was able to control the account through ROKU and cancel. I will never go back to HBO and I do not recommend HBO Now to anyone. I DO recommend if you are going to try it sign on through ROKU or another third party so you can cancel if you need to.

HBO has the best content on TV. Shows like Chernobyl, Game of Thrones, and Silicon Valley. Veep was one of the greatest comedies of all time! Streams fast without any problems with lag or buffering. Great service.

HBO is awesome i love watching Game of Thrones on it and a lot of there other shows and movies are pretty good also. wish it wasnt so expensive but it is well worth the cost to watch Game of Thrones.

This is a better service than a subscription to the HBO cable channel. There's a large inventory of movies in addition to all of the HBO in-house series. And if you are a GOT fan, then it is worth it just for this show and everything else is frosting!

We really like HBO now. Our TV had stopped working and we were in the middle of watching the game of thrones series at night once our little kiddos were off to bed. It was great that we could still watch our HBO shows nthat we downloaded not just through our television. Love that they are using other options for watching premuim channel shows.

I paid for a year subscription in Septmber . I am now moving out of the US to Mexico and they do not provide service in Mexico. I called to get refund on the 9 months that I wil not be able to access MAX and was told that I was out of luck' Life changes but you prepaid so you don't get a refund. Not acceptable. that is theft, I paid for something that they are unable to deliver but they will not refund my money.

I dont know what to do about this anymore. I am paying $15 a month for bad service. Evertime I try to go on it just allways crashes. The loading screen loads forever, and I know that it is not my wifi becuase when I tried watchingn Netflix it did not load for that long. Sometimes it won't even let me watch movies or tv shows. HBO max is lucky that I still have their app.

This has got to be the absolute worst company I have ever had the misfortune of using. They have the most incompetent customer service. I would not have enough space for my complete complaint, but when I finally got someone to help, they offered me a $15.00 visa gift card which is a joke. When I went to the link to get the gift card, it said uh oh, something is wrong, please contact customer service which I have done several times with no response. I am now going to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau.

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO HBO! GO TO OTHERS LIKE NETFLIX OR YOUTUBE. HBO has predatory practices. It was lied to us on a Recorded call by their agents that my "refund will be 100% and my account will be wiped clean" after an accidental subscription. Not only they did not cancel or refund but also enrolled me in an annual subscription using my card. The customer service is pathetic!

I wish I could give a negative ga-zillion stars to this BS of a service. HBO debited my account for 8 MONTHS while being stationed overseas. All the while, they did NOT have the correct email or phone number listed for service. I had no access whatsoever to HBO and the are more than aware. Nevertheless, they insist that I cannot be given a refund because i can't prove I contacted them before now. I AM LIVID!!! THEY ARE THE MOST EXPENSIVE STREAMING SERVICE AND HAVE THE NERVE TO HAVE THE WORST BUSINESS ETHICS OF ALL TIME! CAN YOU SAY SCAMMERS?!

Waste of money! Horrible customer service. Was told by the 3rd representative that they don’t support my tv when I’m using a fire stick and there was a no refund policy so it doesn’t matter if I can’t use their services, I can’t get my money back. Freezes at ads and they say the problem is because you purchased the subscription with ads. What a joke! The last representative told me that the third girl was wrong and it should support the fire stick. Waste of money! Horrible customer service. A joke.

This is the worst streaming app on the market. Great title selection, but poor functionality. Every other day I’m left unable to use the app because it will freeze up and just stop working. It is not my device, seeing as how this happens on my iPad, iPhone, and PS4. What good is an app that I am paying for if I can not use it half of the time? My attempts to reset the app by closing out of the app and re-entering rarely overcome this issue. It is sad, this service has a lot of potential.

If I could rate less than one star I would. HBO now is not properly named. It should be hbo occasionally due to constant buffering or complete inability to “play this title at this time” it is not my internet connection as all other streaming services work flawlessly. Upgrade your streaming service please. I enjoy your titles and series but the constant buffering will drive away customers

Not only was it so hard to find out how to write a review on hbo, it was just the tip of my angered experience. Tried to watch a show I plan on seeing when it’s predicted broadcasting is prevalent, “his dark materials.” Quote “new episode tonight” “every Sunday.” They also Charge you more than any other streaming site, reviews are made impossible to make, and the one star was given because Of the good content. Each site needs to just merge and take the best ideas from each other, I’d rather pay $30-$40 then deal with an imperfection from each sight. 🙄

Don't do it. Just don't. I signed up for the free trial, just to find out it's not compatible with my device. Tried to cancel, the mobile option didn't work (it was glitching), and I could not get in touch with a rep on the phone before the trial period, so they stole $17 from me. They "escalate" your case, but the process is a lie, and they deny 100% of cases. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!! TIP: If they robbed you too, file a dispute with your bank as a fraudulent charge and get your cash back. They are ruthless thieves who make millions doing this to innocent people.

I paid for a month of HBO Now so I could watch a mini-series for a school assignment. I thought I had closed the account and was not using it. I got charged again and when I contacted the company the day after the charge to request a refund, as I was not using the account, I was refused. This is a terrible policy. You can see that I have not touched the account in literally a month, yet the day after you take my payment, you won't refund me? That's absurd. I absolutely will not be using this service again.

I cancelled and was charged the renewal anyway..HBO says no refund policy regardless.... They do not care...they nonchalantly take your money with no remorse... It is a scam and they are horrible customer service...manager was the worst!!!! I am fighting the charge along with my bank which is unfortunate... Please report these scammers to the BBB..so they can shut them down..They got me, but I will not rest until I stop them from this slick way of getting your money...and they do it boldly!!

I had an error trying to enroll my email for an HBO Now subscription, I tried my other email account and it worked. I ended up getting charged for both accounts using the same Credit Card. I immediately contact HBO and was told to bad all sales are final and to bad. They acknowledged it was a an error, but still said sorry. Won't be making a mistake getting HBO again....

HBO Now has a no refund policy even when they make mistakes on their end. I signed up with an email for a free trial and my email did not work because an error page popped up and I could not login to the account I thought I had created. As a result, I decided not to move forward with the free trial but 10 days later my bank account was charged for the monthly subscription fee. I called customer service for a refund considering I hadn't been able to use the account since it gave me an error page and they were unwilling to give me a refund.

When I created my trial account I put a wrong letter in my email so I didn’t receive the welcome email. After that I called to customer services where they supposedly fix that but they created another account for me with my right email. A week later I figured out that I have two charges in my account so I call again but I didn’t receive any solution. Finally I have two active 👌🏻account

I just signed up for a free trial in the hopes of being able to watch Game of Thrones (since they refuse to stream it on Netflix). However, once I started watching the show, the buffering was terrible. I can hardly get 1 minute into the show, as it pauses to buffer every 5 seconds or more. It isn’t my WiFi connection either, since Netflix was working perfectly fine right before I switched over to try HBO. They need to make it available on Netflix/Prime because it is unwatchable on this website. I recommend not wasting your money on this program.

Horrible company! I tried it on a free trial. I cancelled my order two days before the trail ended and they billed my card despite me cancelling in time. Made sure that auto renew was turned off and received a email stating I had done so and was billed again yet this month. After calling to complain I was told per there agreement there are no refunds so even though I cancel they bill me for services I don't use? WTF kind of way is that to run a business.

Beware! The free trial has to be cancelled pretty much the day before or they rope you into another month. I tried cancelling on the day and they charged me. Upon receiving the cancellation it said it would end 2 months from when I cancelled, billing me in between. When emailing them, they said I had no attempts to cancel and do not offer refunds. So deceptive. They make it ridiculously hard to cancel as well. Have to do it from a desktop or tablet. Would highly not recommend.

Buffers constantly. We have 100Mbps download speed and still buffers. Limited selection of recent movies. Suffer through for Game of Thrones and cancel. Surprisingly poor service. All the “help” they provide is having you fix things on your end. It’s never HBO’s problem. They should just partner with Netflix or Amazon for their streaming service.

Used the free trial just to try the service out and went to log in and cancel it literally on the 7th day. Noticed that i had a charge on my account from HBO for 14.99 and contacted customer service about it. The rep did not want to refund and told me that I should've cancelled 1 hour before.. and that there was a strict "no refund policy". DON'T do the free trial with this company, they lie and take your money..

Got a free trial, logged in to cancel the day before it was set to renew and had already been charged for another month. Contacted customer support and was advised I should've logged in 24 hours before and made sure it wouldn't renew, no refund policy in place, yada yada. (They renewed it 5 hours ago.) Customer rep had a difficult time understanding me but turns out I have HBO for another month and there's nothing I can do about it. WOULDN'T WASTE MY MONEY ON THIS SUBSCRIPTION.

Horrible experience. Never used the service due to the rendering speed or my wireless service. Cancelled the subscription before the trial ended, but was charged. I called to get a refund and verify my cancellation. They indicated they didn’t have a way to refund due to their policy. They sure have a way to take your money, but no way to refund it even if you never used their service. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone.

If you subscribe directly through HBO to order HBONow , they make it virtually impossible to cancel your subscription. It is very deceptive and clearly by design. I”m tech savvy and still couldn’t find a way to cancel without calling HBo directly. The operator indicated she has had several calls from people with the same issue. Very deceptive and antiquated business practice.

HBO is very deceptive and dishonest, similar to a scam. I signed up for a free 30-day trial and cancelled service before the deadline, but HBO billed me anyway. I discovered their disenroll process didn't work. I cancelled again and they then billed me again. I then called customer service and asked them what was going on. It took several agents & a 30 minute discussion to finally cancel my service. They didn't reimburse me. Buyer beware!!!

Horrible streaming service. Constantly buffering/stuttering even with fantastic internet. Constantly having to refresh the page. Lacks simple mechanics that make huge differences such as a 'skip to next episode' button. The whole site is just very intuitive . Not impressed and I'm finished paying for it. Just make multiple accounts for free monthly subscriptions like everyone else, because it's the only rational approach to this abomination of a streaming service which is a shame because the shows/movies are incredible.

DON'T WASTE your money. It doesn't work. I sent a dozen emails, all I received were the same computer generated responses. Their personal reps were no better. In at least six conversations, they all asked me the same questions, as if they weren't retaining my prior answers.. Ultimately they blamed my Apple TV Box, even after I told them the other apps on my box work just fine. They did nothing to address my problem. Too bad, because their content is great.

Cancelled after 24 hours (get a month free). Have 15mbps internet speed, smart TV, no competing devices....tried to watch "The Deuce" during broadcast, no luck...just pixelation, sound stops, freezing screen. Tried to watch it an hour after it aired (on demand), same problems. Tried to watch another show this am, just to confirm.....same. Netflix works great. Will miss a few programs, but not worth the aggravation with HBO Now.

Understand upfront, HBO does NOT care about it's customers After a few months HBO NOW just stopped working. I have gone through the online help which provides very little information and never solved the problem. I called the number for assistance, each time was 45 minutes to an hour wait time just to talk to some poorly educated girl who always says she has to escalate the issue. Promised call back time was no more than 2 hours. Never a call back, just an email a day or 2 later saying they were sorry I had problems. I now have an App that I pay for that does not work. Time to cancel!

This app is absolutely atrocious. It crashes at least once every watching session, whether I'm trying to open a movie or continue watching a TV show. Just now I've tried to open a movie FIVE times through the app on my PS3, and it has crashed every time. For $14.99 a month for access to this app and its content, the consistency and reliability should be much, much, much higher. Very disappointed and won't be renewing my subscription.

Streaming on Roku is just awful. All other streaming channels work fine, but HBO Now buffers constantly and sometimes it just stops altogether. You can't rewind or fast forward withou huge buffering times and freezes. The content is limited and only one or two movies worth watching. I'm not sure it's worth the monthly fee and am considering cancelling it.

We bought this service to watch one program, and we've experimented watching it on different evenings. However, regardless of when we try and watch it, it stops playing every 2 minutes or so and stays stuck until I go restart it. We stream 4k content without problem, but HBONow just sucks. They didn't plan the on their servers at all. Horrible service.

I get 60+ megs through my ISP. I almost never get dropped by Netflix. But, I almost always get dropped bt HBO Now. I get dropped about three times per hour of Game of Thrones that I watch. I then have to re-start the app and re-find my place in the episode. HBO Now sucks, technically. Also, their interface sucks compared to Netflix. You can't simply add a season of episodes to your watch list, you have to do it one episode at a time! HBO Now sucks!

I mean it took me an hour to get this setup and I can not hook it up so I can watch on my xbox but only my small phone HBO is secretly working for APPLE and other companies so we have to buy an iPad they make this as hard to use as possible with Netflix you can just login and use it with this you need a phd in their version of pure stupidity. Not even worth chewed up gum on the ground let alone 14.99 I wish I knew a way to get in touch with HBO to find out why they would do this but I have no idea how to do that

HBO is not worth $14.99 per month, For $16 a month you can get HULU and Netflix, 5000 + movies and use a computer. Is HBO going backwards in time as people are dumping cable and satellite in the millions now. Cables dead and broadband is king, watch what you want, when you want with no sorry medical, lawyers and fake insurance commercials. CUT CABLE......
