I had 31 panels put on my roof by Solar City in 2012. Since then almost no electric bill at all. It is 2018 and they have already paid for themselves. I consider it one of if not the best ideas I ever had to pick Solar City and have them do the work. I feel like I am saving the energy for future Americans.

Solar City installed 43 panels on our house in MA in 2013. The panels provide 95% of our electricity needs. The installation process was professional and completed as planned. We made a large deposit so no monthly bills from SolarCity. 20 year full warranty with option to buy at the end. Planning on an 8 year ROI

SolarCity installed our solar. When it went down for a week they repaired the system, although not quickly. We installed about three or four years ago when the only offer they gave us was a lease. Had we known they would sell them, we would have done that. The lease is gruesome because we lost the tax benefit (they use it instead). We have never matched the lease cost, but we installed only 5-KW. However, if your weather pattern is such that during the winter you have a lot of clouds, rain, etc., then I suggest you consider comparing your current utility rates to how much it will cost you to install solar. And don't buy into that "helping the environment" pitch. The only environment you'll be helping with Solar city is Elon Musk's bank account.

The whole process was pretty much painless and the system installed from start to finish in 2 months. Only issues was the initial layout planning of the control boxes and whether I needed an updated circuit breaker box. Was suppose to go inside the garage for the control system and no circuit box up grade required. When the installer arrived the cleared are in the garage would not work due to a gas line clearance and had to mount the control box outside. The electrician came later and declared a new circuit breaker box required. No additional cost.

Solar City's customer service is very poor. You can never get them to give you a call back; you are on hold forever; no weekend service - considering that energy is a very important aspect in day to day life, and that fact that they would not have a job if it were not for its customers - you think they would have excellent customer service - not the case. Unfortunately for us our house we purchased came with the Solar City panels (which we have not had issues with thank the Lord above) - and we assumed the lease of the previous owner - which I will never do again...knowing more about solar energy now and that there are more companies out there (with better ratings) I will be able to pick more wisely.

The whole process was very smooth from start to finish. within 2 weeks from deciding to purchase the system we were up operable, not sure why other had issues with install, we were told it could take up 2 months because of the coordination with PG&E but as mentioned before they exceeded our expectations.

I thought they were terrific. They were responsive, neat and polite. I leased my panels since the sales person told me if there were any technological advances during the lease period they would be provided. You know something will improve over 20 years.

Panels have been up for about 2 years and no complaints. My usage is about the same as pre-solar but monthly bill is less. I used to pay around $300 during the summer months but since solar was installed, only twice has it gone up to $200. After the first rainfall since the installation, I found corner pieces of my tile roof on the ground so I rating it a 9>.

Installation went smoothly. SC included a new roof and an upgrade to our electrical panel. Service in turning it on was excellent. Electric bills lowered substantially. Even got a $300 refund check from Edison this year. System has been up and running for 1.5 years now. No complaints. Very happy with everything.

Great company! We had some problems with squirrels damaging some of the electric wires and some panels. The company replaced everything at no cost to us. We now have 3 different installations from SolarCity, and we are very glad that we chose them.

Have nothing but wonderful things to say about my recent (June 2017) experience with Solar City. The sales process was wonderful and my rep, Chris Fluery as a consummate professional. He answered all of my questions, concerns and delivered in every way. I truly appreciated his financial knowledge as he explained all the #'s, risk and rewards.

Had Solar City of about 1 1/2 years. The contract is transparent. They checked our roof and electrical panel before installation.. When we stopped generating we called customer service and they pointed out that the recent fire might have left ash on our panels. They were right. They walked us through the process of how to clean our panels safely and we were right back to generating our max power. I have recommended Solar City to MANY of our family and friends.

Overall a very positive experience, especially since my salesman did an excellent job navigating system when minor issues arose. It appears that some employees in the "home office" are less well trained and although all tried to be helpful not all were efficient. There were delays in installation related to third party subcontractors but in the end all was completed satisfactorily

No installation cost for me, fixed my roof beams prior to installation for free, took a little haggling to position the panels where I wanted them to be but got it done. The system is producing power exactly as was promised.

When winds damaged the shingles under the newly installed panels Solar City repaired those displaced and several other areas without additional charge. Extremely satisfied with Solar City and the savings we have on our electric bill.

The only problem I experienced with my Solar City system was identified remotely by them and they sent someone out to fix it. Otherwise I'm very happy with the system. I did however sign up for the automatic payments and they can't seem to collect when they're supposed to. It drives me nuts to see month after month of late payments on the statement when they're the ones that don't collect in a timely manner. That said, I've never had a late or penalty charge because of it, so overall my experience has been good and it has saved me money.

I am so glad that we went solar. We're seeing savings in our yearly bill. I felt Solar City explained clearly what their service entailed. We're very dependent on the sunny days. Cloudy hot days are more troublesome but you can't have sunny weather on all days.

I have had NO ISSUES with Solar City in my 3 years experience of having their product. Customer service (Especially LEXI in Billing) is EXCELLENT, Product delivers as stated and I enjoy any contact with Solar City employees. Just recently had a breaker go bad in the disconnect box and they sent out a tech and he (ROBERT) took care of the issue quickly, professionally, and was courteous the entire time he was at my home. Very knowledgeable employee!!

Solar City has fulfilled the terms of my contract, beyond aby expectations. They showed up when they said they would, the installation was completed ahead of the estimated time and the cleanup was fantastic. The crew was polite courteous and answer all of my many questions. Everything was exactly as we were told it would be.

We have had our system for over 2 years and I could not be happier with both the system and the company. They have been great from the start until the present. I would recommend them to anyone. The system has saved us a lot of money and our experience with the installation and the customer service has been great.

Some years ago, I had a system installed and it has worked perfectly, Their techs have come out in response to their noting that my panels were not putting out the power they could and fiddled the electronics without my calling them. The system does what it's supposed to! I'm satisfied,

It is hard to compare but I don't think I am saving as much money as I had hoped to. I had no problems with the installation, although the local utility, Smeco, took their time signing off. The salesman DID disappear as soon as I signed. I really hate them for the $7.50 charge because I refuse to do automatic deduction for bill paying. Who has enough money sitting around in their checking account to let somebody arbitrarily deduct some unknown sum at the time of month at their convenience? I am retired and get one check on the first and another near the end of the month on a variable date. The bill could be any amount according to the sunshine and our usage. I can't just let them stick their hand in my cookie jar like that! I do pay online.

We have had Solar City panels on our house for 4 years. We love it. We have had 3 referrals and have received rebates for the referrals from Solar City, although we lease our panels. We are negative in our energy use for about 8-9 months of the year. We get a small check from Solar City each year when our system does not meet the kWh that the system should generate. The customer service department is much improved since the start of our lease arrangement, but once you have a good sales representative they can be your best advocate. Love the web app to monitor your power generation.

System has been installed for two years, no problems whatsoever. They monitor and keep and eye on the system. One day installation, very polite, and professional at all times. our electric needs has been met by the system with Southern California Edison rebating us the money for the last two years for excess production.

Excited about the NEW Tesla tile roof Solar Panels coming soon for 2017. I will install these instead of those big square panels I'm using now on my first home. Better looking and you can't really tell I have solar installed.

Having solar I would say is a 10 and I love that. The app for monitoring current and historical production exceeds my expectations and I would say is a 10. My sales rep took all of my calls and responded to all of my issues the best he could but the issues that arose weren't in his control. My price was excellent with the price match. And I'm hopeful that the system itself is top notch. Operations and customer service (excluding my rep) I would rate a 4 at best. They answer the phones relatively quickly and are nice which helps the score. But here is where I had an awful experience. My bid came back wrong a half dozen times. My loan amount on the contract was always wrong to the point where I just said I was going to pay upfront because I had 0 trust in them billing me correctly. Installation took forever. They failed to install it on the first visit and had to reschedule. They brought ugly panels which were different than the all blacks i was told I'd receive. The install failed inspection pushing my turn on time back another month. Communication between the day it was installed and getting it turned on was awful. Having panels on the roof for almost two months of sunny days producing nothing and without being told anything was very frustrating. And finally billing. I called in the day the solar switched on to pay for everything because I hadn't received a bill and wanted to do my part being proactive. They told me I owed $500 more than my last signed document. No one could adjust it so I sent in an email with the agreed on signed document, waited three days, heard nothing, so I called back in. I was on hold and transferred to 3 different people in billing all saying they weren't the right person to help. The last person said she'd get to the right people and I'd get an invoice for the correct amount that day. It still hasn't come. So the waiting continues... The whole process took 5 months from requesting a bid to flipping it on and that is insane. If I was less committed by my friendly sales rep, my desire to get green energy and the great price I was able to price match to I would have cancelled many times over. The city for inspections and the power company for switching the meter both took 1 week and i signed every doc I was told to the day I received them (unless they were wrong in which I contacted you to fix it every time that same day). Your operations on all fronts really is lacking horribly when it takes this long and it's all due to internal failures. Please fix your issues as you have a lot of great things going for you and I am happy now that my interaction with you guys is hopefully nearing its end (hopefully no need for warranty assistance)! Advice for SolarCity: Keep using quality panels, keep making your already great app better, and keep great trustworthy reps around like mine (Dan). But please fix the internal errors, the dropped balls, the run arounds, and compensate when you make mistakes that delay a project.

Our salesman was great - not at all pushy and very knowledgeable. The panels were delivered and installed the same day on the day promised. They look nice and seem to be functioning very well. All it takes is an e-mail to my salesman if I have any questions - customer service has been excellent. So far, very happy. Contract was signed in July - panels were turned on in December, mostly because of waiting for permits and the inspection from the local electrical company.

After reading numerous reviews I did my own research and found based on my purchase this was an excellent choice. Customer service has been helpful explaining things when I have questions. Installation was quick and efficient. I missed some common sense about the panels in the winter (a lot less sun here in NE, duh!) however I was given options originally to completely cover my electricity bills. I'll save up for it. I have had them for months now and hope the care and concern from Solar City continues as questions and things arise.

We found all of the employees with whom we in contact from the sales representative to the installers to be knowledgeable and professional. All our questions were answered satisfactorily which is why we decided to have Solar City install the panels. We were also impressed with the company's A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.

The gentleman that came to explain and sign us up did a great job and has been there for any questions or explanations I have needed. We are just getting and I can say I have had no problem with Solar City, installation went smoothly, any delays were from the places that had to come inspect, not Solar City. Customer Service has been great.

Have haD solar with solar city for 2 years. It is a requirement that you have Internet connection for them to be able to monitor the system We travel frequently and always seem to have to reboot our system for them. I think it bothers them more than us. But they constantly call when system monitor goes out Wish they had a better system. Other than that the system works great produces plenty for us to get credit in the fall

We called a couple of times to address two issues. One turns out to be that a squirrel had chewed thru a trunk line. Chris came out and installed a metal mesh that makes it impossible for a squirrel to get in again. The cost was small and could not speak highly enough of this company and the people that make this company as great as it is.

I have been with Solar City for about 5 years, very happily. I do wonder about how the cloudy & rainy May this year will affect things. I have a deposit on the 2017 Tesla & will have to up my panels then to run it, but so far for the most part it's all good.... & I am SO HAPPY NOT TO BE GIVING MY $$$ TO PECO. Time for a change. This is a good way to go.

Had my system installed a little over a year ago. Was told it could take 3 months or so to get installed and running. It was up and running in about a month. Professional, courteous installers. Biggest holdup was the local utility company and inspector. Only complaint - was told it would be done by noon and I took a half day off of work. It took until about 6 and I had to call in to work and take the full day off. Utility bill has been much lower.

We have a fully solar house and added SolarCity about 4 years ago. They have been awesome 100% of the way. Last year we had to replace our roof due to the 2014/15 winter. SolarCity came in and in a couple of hours, had the whole system on the ground. When the roof was done, we called and back it went. Fast and easy. This spring, something let go in the system and they called us about it, set an appointment and fixed it. We love our rep and have ad nothing but the best experience.

My experience was positive and would do again. Savings on electricity is significant...installation was easy...and no issues to date. Wish I had done it years ago! Salesperson was knowledgeable and I asked a LOT of questions; installation quick and clean and now producing so much more than I use at 1/2 the local utility cost. Win...win for me

Stopped to talk to the solar city Kiosk worker was very profesional but Tesla has had almost a year to set up a store front and just for some God unknown reason but one store in DC which they already had a store in DC and has been putzing around with negotiating for a store in Annapolis. I think we did have our home evaluated for panels and I told my mom we needed to remove some trees. Solar city analyzed our home and said what i had to remove some trees but my mom always needs a "professional" opinion. solar city profesional, Tesla not .

We indirectly have Solar City. We purchased an Elliott home with a 29 year solar lease. The solar system was installed by Solar City. The homes directly north and south of our streen all have 12 roof panels. Our street all have only 10 panels. All homes are the same plans so I don't understand why our block has 2 fewer panels on each roof. Also homes range from 1700 to 3200 square feet. I would think the largest plans would have more panels than the smallest plans.

Solar City so far has lived up to having our property inspected for the proposed project. The crew was running late and called to let us know they were a little behind.
