I DID A INQUIRY ABOUT HAVING SOLAR INSTALLED ON MY HOUSE AND HAD SCOTT, A SALES REP CALL ME YESTERDAY AND I TOLD HIM MY NEEDS FOR HAVING A SOLAR SYSTEM. WE TALKED 3 SEPERATE TIMES AND HE WAS VERY THOROUGH IN DESCRIBING THE SYSTEM AND ALSO WHAT I NEED. HE CALLED ME THE SECOND TIME AFTER SPEAKING TO THE ENGINEERS AND AFTER THE CONVERSATION I ASKED HIM A COUPLE OF MORE QUESTIONS AND HE SAID HE WOULD GET BACK TO ME. HE CALLED BACK AND GAVE ME THE ANSWERS I NEEDED. I MUST SAY HE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS HONESTLY AND WAS NOT PUSHY. I CONTACTED ANOTHER SOLAR COMPANY AND TALK ABOUT HIGH PRESSURE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE A VERY PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT WITHOUT ALL THE PRESSURE AND A DIRECT ANSWER I WOULD REQUEST SCOTT. LASTLY I HAVE NEVER MET SCOTT BUT I AM A SALESPERSON ALSO OF 22 YEARS AND HE GETS MY VOTE.

After I was notified by PG&E that my solar panels have not been producing any energy for over a year. I quickly contact Sungevity for assistance but could not get a hold of anyone. After reaching out to Mosaic, they informed me that my contact was taken over by Solar Spectrum. I then reached out to them and was told to email Blake H, their Senior Solutions Manager. After explaining my situation to Blake through email and sending him pictures of my inverter screen, he was able to solve my problem remotely that very same week! He also set me up with a new monitoring profile were I can easily monitor my solar panel productivity. Now I can make sure my solar panels are always working correctly. All our communication was through email, which was very convenient for me due to my busy work schedule. I also didn't have to go through the trouble of requesting a day off to wait for a technician to physically come to my home and check my solar panels. So far my experience with my new solar company, Solar Spectrum, has been GREAT! Thanks to Blake H

When Sonny N first contacted me about the solar panels and how they worked I was very impressed with his knowledge. Now when it comes to me I have been told that I ask a lot of questions and I mean a lot. But Sonny N was able to answer every single question that I threw at him and if he did not know the answer he definitely found it which helped not only me but him in the long run as far as feeding his own knowledge. He also linked himself to my computer to show me the actual breakdown and process that it takes in installing and activating the solar panels. Even going as far as telling me how many solar panels I needed and how the warranty worked. On top of that, he had no problem doing all of that again for a second time just to make sure my wife was on the same page. A couple months down the line my solar panels were finally installed by a very professional group of installers that explained how it works when it’s turned on, and how to actually turn the panels on myself. Last but not least. When the day came for my wife and I to turn on the solar panels they emailed us a very clear short instructional manual and it was super easy to do. I am very pleased that I was able to talk to Sonny N and his partners. I will recommend them to my family and friends. Wonderful people to do business with.

I received a phone call from William P shortly after my online inquiry about solar systems. I’m a person that does a lot of research prior to purchasing ANYTHING and William was able to talk me into considering Sungevity system in an hour. William is a great listener and has a good sense of customer needs so he was able to suggest the best system for me in a very short time. It was a no brainer. He is very knowledgeable about every single detail of what he’s selling which I appreciated. I phoned him few time since the signing to ask few questions and he was always understanding and available to answer my concerns. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the entire process. William P made my decision to go solar very easy.

I reached out to Sungevity about a solar system for my house. I spoke to a very knowledgeable representative by the name of Jacob. He had me answer some questions to supply to the engineers to make an assessment on the feasibility of a system. Jacob called back at the time he said he would. After conferring with his engineers, he said that the payback on such a system would be 16 years and that he and his engineers were of the opinion that I probably would be smart to pass on the system, based on current usage, current cost for electricity, and the length of time for payback. I certainly appreciate the information and the advice of the folks at Sungevity. I will definitely recommend Sungevity to friends and family. I thank them for their honest opinion. That is very refreshing in this day and age.

I recently had Sungevity install solar panels winthin matter of a couple of weeks from talking to William M. Who was great customer service in answering all my questions, concerns and even went far beyond to make sure I was well taken care of. He along with Eli G the project manager were very professional a made sure I was aware of the contract and up to date of each steps until final completion. The installers themselves were on time, courtesy and were fast to install. Very pleased on how fast it took from the quote to installation less than the recommended 45 day turnaround. Thanks again to William M and the Sungevity team looking forward to see how much ill be saving.

I’ve been working with Kristin B. for almost 3 years. She helped me go solar in 2015 and again in 2016 on a second home. She’s always been so lovely and professional. I’ve sent lots of referrals her way over the years as well and all of my friends are extremely happy as well. She delivers an incredible experience and really takes the time to listen and is never pushy or salesy. What I was most impressed with very recently is is called her for the first time in probably a year to give her another referral. I thought maybe she had forgot who I was due to the length of time that had passed and as soon as I said my name she was so excited and started asking me all kinds of questions about our two systems, she mentioned my wife and daughter by name and asked me to send her regards and just truly delivers a VIP experience every, single time. This woman is a major asset to this company and I hope she is treated as such!

Like most looking for the right company to do business with in regards to solar is tough. There are so many companies to choose from. I initially met with a few companies prior to Sungevity and felt uncomfortable because the salesman made me feel as though I wasn’t getting the whole story. Sungevity took the time to walk me through everything and made me feel at ease on making my decision. Everything was done over the phone and on the computer, which for me made me feel more comfortable. If I didn’t want to talk all I had to do was hang up. I couldn’t have asked for a better end result with Sungevity. I’m confident I made the right choice and I am looking forward to reaping the benefits. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to go solar. I have not yet had the system installed. Once installed I plan to update this review to give anyone looking to go solar a good review that makes them feel confident about the decision they have made.

I worked with Brandon B. on my solar project. He was a pleasure to work with, was very thorough on his presentation and explains everything in lay terms so i can understand. I didn' feel rushed or pressured to install Solar. Infact he gave me time to think it through and called me back at an agreed upon time to check if i had any questions. The process is smooth and all automated which was great because with my busy schedule I don't have time to sit and chat with someone in my living room for 3 hours. Brandon and the project manager Steven was very good at keeping me up-to-date with the project transition and returned my calls timely. Now that my project has come to a completion I'm looking forward to some savings. I will definitely refer friends and family to Solar Spectrum, more specific Brandon, he is great, very knowledgeable and professional.

Dear Neighbor, My name is Bruce and I am your neighbor in Murrieta. I would love to tell you about an incredible opportunity that recently fell into my lap. Horizon Solar Power approached me about a new program that enabled me to install a $32,000 brand new solar energy system on my roof without putting any money down! I ask you to please take some time to review the following materials, and I guarantee it will be worth it big time. This is NOT a lease program or a purchase. It is simply an alternative to buying power from the utility company that requires $0 down to get started. In my case, this system took my average electric bill from $280/month to $162/month, saving me about $1400 annually on my electric bill. The best part is that it came with a free year of electricity and I have already received a check from Horizon for $1944 to cover the first 12 months of payments. I no longer have to worry about the extremely high bills in the summer time from running my air. The system was designed to offset the power I need during the times when I’m running my air conditioning. With this program my new cost of power is 14.8 cents/kwh compared to Edison who charges anywhere from 17-35 cents based on the standard tier-based billing system. All utilities in California will be switching to a time of use system in the near future. The new Edison time of use system currently has rates as high as 48 cents/kwh (and of course this is during the hottest time of day) depending on which plan you are put into. My new solar system helps me avoid ALL of this! This solar program includes all maintenance, monitoring, insurance, and production guarantees at no additional cost. Please remember this is not a lease or purchase. It is called a P.P.A. (power purchase agreement). There are no burdensome liens on your property and it has no debt to income effect on your credit report. If you move, the incoming homeowner is guaranteed to qualify to assume the same electric savings. With a reduced electric bill, the home buyer will be afforded the chance to potentially buy more house for their money. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!!! My initial consultation with Ryan was on 3/5/18 and my brand new solar system was installed on 3/12/18. All inspections were completed and I was granted PTO (permission to operate) on 3/28/18. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact them. Sincerely, Bruce

I called Solar Spectrum during my process of shopping around for quotes to help my disabled mom get some solar panels on her house. Jacob was very helpful and efficient and was able to provide me with an accurate quote and honest opinion. After supplying her PGE bill, he looked up her usage over the last few months and noticed that she was being given a CARE credit by the city which assisted with her gas and electric bill. Due to the financial aid, Jacob told me with sincerity that he did not believe in our current situation that my mom would benefit from the cost savings of installing a few solar panels on her roof. We both appreciated the honest opinion as well as the great customer service I experienced! If her situation ever changes or I start browsing the market again, I'll definitely call Solar Spectrum first!

I normally don't continue unsolicited phone sales calls or the more worthless 'trolling' where you get transferred or agree to be contacted to an 'Expert' who could answer my very simple questions. The 'Expert' - who's job it is to get me to pay the most for a lesser quality item, in most cases. I know when I need something, I know how to pay the least amount for a high quality item. In a relatively short period of time, I received a callback from Jacob G. - my Solar Consultant from Solar Spectrum. Unfortunately I had just taken my medications 30 minutes before his callback - I explained to him that I NEVER have ever let a phone solicitation continue past 10 to 15 seconds, but while speaking with Jacob, he was warm to the touch - where you get that comfortable 'fuzzy feeling' and quicker than I could ask, he asked if it would be OK to call back at a later date and time. I replied; Yes Jacob, how about 2 weeks from today around the time of this current call. Two weeks to the day and within 30 minutes of our last short conversation, he called. I place a very high value on honesty, being upfront, follow through and someone who oozes out 'High Integrity. Jacob did not just exhibit those values but in the middle of our conversation, I told him I was probably going to go it alone. He actually offered some 'my way' advise. I was tired, but he inspired me like no other has. We did talk again, and even though he knew he was fighting a DIY customer, it was the same Jacob - he almost broke me from DIY (don't tell him that!) but I managed wrangle loose from someone with the values I hold strong and a very, Very, VERY knowledgeable Solar Dude! Thanks Jacob, it's true that in the last 25 or so years, I have NEVER let someone get past 20 to 30 seconds - you are quite remarkable. Neal N from Poway, California

I looked at Solar late last year and got a few quotes from different companies. I looked at the different options that were in my area and Solar Spectrum really showed the value of their company and where it was heading. I spoke with Alex who helped me out the process and was very detailed from beginning to end. A couple other companies reps came to my house including sunrun and solar city, but I felt most comfortable with Alex as he explained things thoroughly and wasn't trying to oversell me. I actually got installed in less than 2 months. I really recommend this company for anyone looking at solar. Also they give a $1000 referral bonus for anyone I recommend!

It turns out after speaking with Solar Spectrum that I was not actually able to go solar and save money. My solar consultant was very honest, knowledgeable and experienced in the industry and educated me on how it all works. The best part is I can still refer my friends family and neighbors and they'll get a $1000 discount and Solar Spectrum will send me a check to my mailbox for $1,000 for every referral! Awesome program they have. I will be circling back to solar Spectrum 100% hands down if my bills ever get high enough where going solar can save me money with no investment out of pocket. My bills are only $50 a month now but I know my rates will be raising over time. This is a stand-up company that won't try to deceive you just to get the sale, proceed with confidence.

Having seen that Solar Spectrum was highly rated on a couple of sites, I called and spoke with Jeff L. Jeff was very knowledgeable, professional, composed and answered every question that I had. Even more impressive was that he was completely honest and wanted to make sure that it was a good match for the company AND me as a customer. After a candid discussion, I did not move forward with an installation as I still have roughly 5 years of life on my roof before replacing so the timing and ROI just did not make sense at this point. (Jeff could have said it would be fine but strongly suggested getting the roof replaced first before installation) Many sales reps would have said whatever needed to close the sale whether it made sense or not for me (and having to remove the system in 5 years to replace the roof is not in my bet interest nor is putting on a new roof now). He talked about the competition with respect but also noted the advantages of their system/company – again that approach rarely happens these days. I am sure he was disappointed that I did not purchase a system (but did not show it) If I do move forward at a future date, Solar Spectrum and Jeff will be the first person I call. That’s exactly how a consultative sales conversation should go. It just wasn’t the right time.

We are lucky to have had Eric L. as our Horizon Solar Panel representative. Our experince with him has been more than just great, he has gone above and beyond to ensure we understand everything from how it all works, how the electric company plays a part in it, what to expect, a realistic timeline on the work, went in depth about billing. Everything, everything we had questions about during the initial meeting, during the set up of the panels, & even now after the completion of the work. Till this day Eric answers our calls, texts, & emails. He takes his time to ensure we understand & are satisfied with the work. Great company, awesome customer service from Eric. In all possible ways, Mike did a marvelous job of walking me through all the questions I generated in order to fully understand exactly what I would be getting with a Solar Spectrum system. I had done a bit of my own homework and had another company with which to compare Solar Spectrum's product and I found Mike to be extremely knowledgeable, honest in his feedback, patient in his explanations and very importantly entirely responsive during the grueling day of getting my head around what I would be getting with this company. His explanation for those few poor reviews of the company I found online came across similarly, honest and reasonable. I never experienced any of the kind of pressure I had encountered with my first solar company contact and felt every step of the way that the decision was mine to make. This guy is not only well trained but there is a very genuine manner to his engagement. Thanks Mike!

When I contacted solar companies, regarding my desire to install solar, Erik was the first person to call me back. He was very personable, and impressed me early on that his company was the best our there. He made appointment right away, and explained what we would go over on the visit. I was already well versed in this project since I had discussed this with my son who has had a solar installation at his house for one year. Eric and I met, and discussed my needs. Looking at the roof top where this installation had to occur, due to the HOA requirements where I live, we felt that the system would work for me. Unfortunately, after closer analysis, I did not have the correct space on my roof that would be needed to meet the guidelines of the HOA. At this time, this project would not give me the ROI that I needed to do the capital outlay, but if I had had more room for panels, I would have gone forward with this project. The company did an excellent job of keeping me informed. I would do business with Erik and Horizon Solar Power again. and I recommend that you look closely at this company before you decide to use another solar company.

I was very confused shopping for a solar system. My daughter and friend had a very bad experience with their purchase. So I looked on your site and contacted Solar Spectrum because they were the highest rated. I did contact the next three on the list. I am so happy I picked Solar Spectrum. Their installers on two separate occasions waited 5 hours in their trucks for different inspectors to come. One till 8:00 PM. To date all work has been completed on time. All installers were courteous and kept me informed. Sales and coordinating team were very good also. Solar Spectrum good service and a good price.

They don't communicate well with the customer. They only tell you the very minimum of info. If you do not know what to ask , you get left behind.. I have dealt with two different company's at two different locations and they all seem to be the same. Thet treat you like a dummy. They need to give you all the information in plain english, as to the different time frames for each phase and who is respnsible for each phase and what to expect especialy with your power company provider and their time frame. They need to tell you immediatley when your project manager is changed or terminated . instead of the customer having to call becase they haven't heard squate from the supposed project manager who told you he would contact you every week to keep you up to date. You pay all this money out and you end up having to over see the whole project. I could go on but what for I got my solar it works. I am saving money on electricity.

Just spoke with Mike from Solar Spectrum, He was apparently a Sungevity EE art first, carried over to SolarSpectrum. He filled me in with detail on the Sungevity Bankruptcy deal. He called me based on my request through Energy sage. He says the company is going to be around a long time and it is a good company to deal with. It was a very good in Depth conversation and I learned a lot about the Solar PV Industry. I was requesting a quote and to ask some questions about Microinverters and Solar edge Optimizers, He was very informative and to the point, he is VERY knowledgeable about this industry. I hope they can offer me a decent affordable and realistic quote, unlike the others I was dealing with from local Companies. I hope to use them for a 5KW rooftop system to allow 90-100% generation. I would highly recommend calling them and at least speaking with them and see what they can offer. To be continued...

Russ K from Horizon came to my house a few months ago and it was a terrific experience. He explained the pros and cons of each of the different ways to go solar and cleared up all of our confusion. Once we understood what we were really getting into, we felt comfortable choosing Horizon Solar Power as our solar installer. When the work started, we couldn't have been any happier. We live in Temecula and it only took three weeks before our system was turned on. The crews were nice and clean, and they even fixed a few broken tiles that we had up thee that we didn't know about. 10/10. Highly recommend!

So far, Horizon has been excellent in the sales process and in delivering the work offered. The sales went very smooth with Dean, and I had all my questions answered. I got a much better deal than that Solar City was offering. For the time being, I have had my entire roof replaced by them, and have also installed a 5.75 Kw/h system. The roof replacement and installation of the PVS went smooth, and the techs working on it were on time, and left the work space and surroundings clean and without any damages. Everything has been delivered as promised, being the only delays the ones associated with the permits from the city and HOA. I am currently awaiting the PTO, but the system has been installed. I have received all the promised rewards as well. Thank-you Horizon Solar.

This review is for their Sales rep, not their product. Scott G helped me from the start and even though I chose to go with another local family owned operation, I'm writing this review because Scott deserves high praise for his product knowledge and professionalism. He explained everything to me in detail and was easy to understand and always returned my calls and emails promptly. Unlike some other solar reps I dealt with, he stayed in communication with me till the very end even after I told him I was going in another direction. He followed up to make sure I didn't have any regrets and made the decision very difficult for me. It showed me that he truly believes in his product and stands by it and I would recommend anyone to work with him.

Sungevity is the company that I went with when I purhased a system two years ago this month. They are located in the San Francisco area but serve a wide area. I live a couple of hundred miles north west of them and they serviced me. I don't know if they are in other states or not. The company now has a new name, Solar Spectrum. If the measure of a solar company is that their product does what it is supposed to do without interruption at a reasonable price, then they are great. As I said the system works great. Last year I produced 2300 kwh's more than I used and was able to sell those hours to the city of Redding. Not a great price for sure, but ... The system has never been down and I've experienced no problems with it in any respect. I like the application they have for my phone and computer. I can track my production hour by hour or even by total produced over the lifetime of the system. It's just a great setup. I don't know what else I can say about them. But I haven't had to call them since my installation. Initially I did call because I didn't understand how to read certain things, but never for a problem. So for me, they're a great company. I considered Solar City before I went with Solar Spectrum. The main reason I selected Solar Spectrum was that with their plan I pay a fixed amount no matter how much more electricity I produce, the price is the same. With Solar City, they charge a set price per kwh. The price they charge was a couple of cents less than the city charges. But in my case, with producing 2300 hours more than I use, it would have been much more expensive. The other thing is that all other things being equal between the companies, I went with Solar Spectrum because for me it's a much better deal.

Then again, when I submitted my inquiry I already knew what I was in for. When I finally sat down and took time to speak with one of their agents, I understood why I was getting called so much, these guys are experts and where able to tell me in just minutes about all the benefits that I could take advantage of right away. On top of that this is a company that is reputable throughout the industry which reassured me about my decision to join Horizon Solar Power

Every other company I talked to told me I could have my system up and running in a few weeks. Mark at Sungevity ran me through the actual process and made me realize I was being misled by the others before I even got started with them. By contrast Sungevity's ETA was longer than I'd have liked but was right on the dot. The wheels turn slowly when you're dealing with permits, approvals, inspections, and utility companies. It could not have been accomplished any sooner than projected. I went with Sungevity based on that one honest conversation and have never regretted it. My customer service was and still is unsurpassed. Jeff

Here is my experience with Sungevity. So far I have had no problems. I took the lease option for a 22 panel system of 250 watts each. I paid the lease payments for the 20 years up front. That means that Sungevity owns and maintains the system for 20 years and will repair anything that needs replacement. Also I assume my property taxes will not be affected since I don't own the system. However I had to fill out some form from the town specifically for the purpose of no property tax increases for at least 10 years. The up front cost for the system was $7800 including a $1000 discount using a referral. I couldn't claim any Federal Tax credit because I'm leasing the system. However NY allowed a 25% tax credit on the amount paid for solar energy systems including leased systems so I took that credit last year (the system was installed in December, 2014) and subtracting the credit which I received, I ended up paying roughly $6000 for the whole system. The nice thing is that all solar electricity I generate is free. If I overproduce at any time, the electric meter reverses. Otherwise I pay for the net amount of electricity I used above what I generated. I read that users with PPA are paying quite a bit per Kwh for electricity that they generate. I am paying 0, but of course I had an up front cost of $6000. Sungevity took care of everything for me and then installed the system in one day. They assume that the power inverter will need replacement at some point before 20 years and they will do that at no cost along with any other repairs or maintenance. I haven't needed any in 2 years so far. On the power inverter panel outside the house I can see the instantaneous power being generated as will as the cumulative total for the day and a bar chart. On the web on my account I can see what I generated each day, week or month since the panels were installed. Here is the power I generated since installation in mid December, 2014. kWH produced in two months 12/2014 384.32 (about 1 3/4 months) 2/2015 459.35 4/2015 1594.54 6/2015 1583.53 8/2015 1473.71 10/2015 894.87 12/2015 557.32 2/2016 1071.45 4/2016 1444.47 6/2016 1712.43 8/2016 1394.72 10/2016 874.14 12/2016 227.47 (one month) Since April, 2015 I have always paid the minimum electric charge per month on my all electric house. This amounts to about $24.50 per month since I am generating more electricity than I use. Before April 2015 I didn't have any credit for overproduced electricity since production goes down in the winter and usage for electric heating goes way up so I had some bills. At the anniversary date of installation, the electric company will pay me a little for excess electricity generated, if any, and start over again with a zero electric surplus. This is bad for anyone starting out at the beginning of winter since generally you will need more electricity than you generate during winter. Then after the summer you will have surplus for which will be paid at a very low rate (like 3 cents per kWH). It's better to be able to use that surplus yourself and avoid the high charge per kWH for purchasing electricity. So the electric company allows a one-time anniversary date change which I made to the April billing so I can build up surplus electricity and use it during the winter. So with that, a winter installation didn't hurt. The amount of referral money Sungevity gives varies from about $500 to $1000. Now it is $750. If this information has been useful to you and you would like to contact Sungevity, please use my Referral Code: 1013253 for a $750 reduction in your installation costs. Thanks.

After over a year of researching solar companies, options, costs, etc., we chose to work with Horizon Solar. Seth answered all our questions, gave us plenty of information, and an opportunity to decide. We did not feel pressured into anything. Working with Norma in the home office, as well as all the wonderful folks that came out to inspect and install made us feel confident we made the right decision. We got our PTO (permission to operate) from So CA Edison. We just got our first electric bill in from them for 11 days. Our bill was a whopping .42 cents. Yes, that's cents not dollars. The massive savings we are enjoying will not only pay for the equipment many times over, but will enable us to make more enhancements. Best decision we ever made, and best company we could have chosen. Thank you, Horizon Solar, Seth, and Norma! Great job, folks!!!!

After researching solar companies in my area I decided that Sungevity would provide the best customer service and results for my home. Its a bit ironic that I went with Sungevity because I work for a big box hardware store that sells Solar City services and Sungevity is sold by our big competitor. All in all I am completely satisfied with the sales people and the installation crew that I delt with. The sales person talked to me for hours and explained the different types of purchasing from lease to buying out right and I decided to purchase and get a solar loan. I know from the Sales person what my offset would be and the savings would be down the road from the information supplied to me that was specific to my home. My system was just powered up on July 12 and every day my wife and I check the KWH generated from the Sungevity app on the phone. I wish I had gone solar years ago but as the saying goes "Better late than never"

i picked "10" above for each of the two departments marked. 1 is for sales. 2 is for CSR. My personal background is in customer support and service, face to face! 30 plus years. 1. Sales Rep. Was Kalene, I am sorry I do not remember her last name. Kalene IS GREAT! No other way to say it. If today I still operated my own business, I would take Kalene from you folks! That simple as to how greatl Kalene really is. I told this point to her supervisor and he said that he did not understand how I could do that sort of thing. Oh well some got it -Kalene, some don't got it -her supervisor! 2. CSR ... The first CSR assigned to my project, I don't remember her name and I am NOT sorry, after I spoke with Kalene about her, next day I had new CSR assigned, Norma. Okay that is the last of how good Kalene is. Now it is about Norma ... Please pay attention here, remember my 30 plus years in the CSR field myself. Few words to say a whole lot! IF 25% of your people in your CSR group were 50% as GREAT at their job as Norma is, your CSR department would be 1000 times better then it is today! Now I know that the math above does now add up correctly, it is ment to be symbolic In nature only, and if someone in your company gets carried away with the fact the numbers do not add up correctly, THAT individual should be replaced, as they will never understand what I am trying to say about how GOOD and GREAT a CSR person, Norma really is. Thank you If any questions please call Gary Mason

I am not one that typically writes online reviews, but in this case I felt it necessary to write one. After dealing with four or five solar salesman from companies that will remain unnamed I was frustrated with the industry overall. Their lack of professionalism and in many cases knowledge of their own product was unacceptable. I thought solar was not going to happen until I received a call from Seth Bruins from Horizon Solar. I warned him it would be a tough sell. His professionalism, and his willingness not to BS me with company marketing fluff close the deal that day. Their team guided me through HOA and other necessary approvals, Their installation team showed up on time, did a great job with as little disruption as possible. Their roof and production guarantees were also important to my decision. Since April we have produced in excess of of guaranteed production. My Palm Springs area electric bills were outrageous I couldn't be happier with my new Horizon Solar System. I've been telling all my friends and neighbors about it...Did I mention about their referral program!.

We were lucky to be one of the first Sungevity customers in the state of Arizona. Their operation was professional from the first sales interaction right on through the years of service that we stayed in that house until the transfer/cancellation of service. The sales team was professional, available to answer questions, and not too pushy. The engineering team that handled the planning and installation was timely, courteous, and thorough. Customer service is obviously a priority for this company at all levels of service. We never waited more than the next business day to have any communication returned and when it was answered, it was usually a solution, not a hand-off to another party. The system never had any operational errors and saved us a LOT of money over the years. But when we did ultimately sell our home, they gave us our options and then made the transfer to the new owners a simple process. I highly recommend Sungevity for their personal, professional, accurate, and environmentally friendly practices.

My solar installation was performed by Horizon Solar Power and everything from beginning to end was excellent. Everyone from the sales rep to the installation crew and final inspector were fantastic. While Horizon Solar Power does not do the monitoring which is done by Sunrun, they are an important part and probably the most important part in getting your installation and Permission To Operate completed. I am almost complete with my fourth month of having solar power. SCE already has given me a credit of almost $300.00 and I expect to see another $95.00 to 100.00 for the month of May. It really breaks our hearts to only pay SCE anywhere from $8.00 to a little over $10.00 a month. If you want to install solar then by all means pick Horizon Solar Power. While I'm sure that there have been some issues for some people, I am not one of them. I highly recommend this company with no hesitation.

This is my second system with Sungevity. This corporation is a model for customer service. Every call was promptly returned. Every e-mail responded to on the same day. Even when I phoned and my contact person was on vacation the person covering for him knew of my situation, so there was none of this having to explain what is going on. The data and contracts were clear and scheduling was announced well ahead of time. Every action was given a follow up call or e-mail to check that I was satisfied and to inquire on how to improve their service. My first system I have had for 8 years with zero complaints. I am increasing my capability to produce solar energy and they worked with me to get a system that matched my needs. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about their product.

I'd like to share my experience with Sungevity. Last December my 22 panel system came online with a guaranteed annual output of 6157 kWhs. So far, by the end of October I generated 6040 kWhs with a little over a month left before my yearly anniversary. So I should exceed the guaranteed production. This is in spite of heavy snows this past winter which covered my panels for the month of February. I opted to pay my 20 year lease upfront for $7852. New York State gave me a 25% tax credit for last year, since I paid that full amount up front. This reduced my total cost to about $6000. Sungevity will maintain my system for the 20 year lease and I now have no payments to make. All the electricity I generate is free for me to use or send to my electric provider for future use. At the anniversary of coming online, my electric company, Central Hudson, will reconcile my account and pay me some low rate (I understand around 3 cents per kWh) for any excess electricity which I provided. In my case, the panels came online in December just before a period with the lowest solar electric generation and the highest electricity use. (I have electric heat.) So my winter electricity bills were high. In the Spring and Summer months my net electric use was 0 so I just paid the minimum service charge and have a huge surplus credit. Will that credit be applied to the winter bills that I already paid? The answer is no. So having an anniversary date in December is very bad. It would be better to have the anniversary date in the Spring, and build up electric energy credit which would be applied during the following winter to offset my bills at the retail electric rate at that time. The good news is that Central Hudson allows me to make a one time anniversary date change. I sent in a form changing my bill reconciliation date to March. So instead of being paid about 3 cents per kWh for the excess electric power I generated, I can keep that excess and use it to reduce my bills during the winter months. Probably by March I won't have any excess left and it will all have been used up to offset my usage during the winter. My experience with Sungevity so far has been positive. There were no problems with installation which was done in one day. I used a referral to reduce my cost by $1000, reflected in the numbers given above. I also should be receiving some referral money from some customers who had panels installed by Sungevity.and used my referral code. The amount a customer receives off their system installation varies at different times from $500 to $1000. I think the amount now is $750. You are welcome to use my referral code #1013253 to receive an installation discount. I hope this description has been informative and helpful. Gerry

I had my solar installed by Sungevity a couple years ago and LOVE IT. My electric bill is WAY down to almost nothing. The monthly payment to Sungevity is 1/3rd the cost of electricity i was paying per month. It's a no brainer! Once (and only once), i got less generated than guaranteed and i got a check for it! Further, they came out to inspect and found there was a faulty part which they replaced right away. Customer service at Sungevity is top notch. I wish all companies operated the same way. I love 'em so much, i referred my father in law and he installed it. His meter runs BACKWARDS and loves it big time.

I've been a power plant engineer for over 20 years. My Sungevity system was activated in October 2013. My electric bill used to be $150-200/month. With a 5kw system consisting of 23 panels on my southwest facing roof, and a net meter installed (runs both directions). My electric bill is essentially zero. I generate more power than is used. My bill is just the CL&P (now Eversource) minimum connection fee of $16, except when everything was covered in deep snow for two months last winter. My lease payment is $67/mo. I've essentially cut my power bill in half, while at the same time shielding myself from future rate increases. The whole experience with Sungevity was fantastic! An engineer came out for a few hours to make an evaluation. About a week later, I received detailed information including drawings of the proposed installation and a WRITTEN GUARANTEE for the monthly power production expected by the system over the 20 year lease. At the end of any given year, if the power produced is LESS than the guarantee states, then they will pay you the difference! Also, they continuously monitor system performance and can detect right away if there's a problem. They alone are responsible for maintenance and repairs since it's under lease, so no headache for me! After considering all the factors, including available tax incentives, the Sungevity lease made the most sense over other firms I looked at or attempting it myself. The whole installation took three days and the crew were very polite and professional. My only regret is that i didn't do it years ago! Of course with panel prices coming down and the incentives available at the time, I probably got about the best deal possible. 11 STARS!!!

It was a no-brainer to choose to install with Sungevity, as we run a hot tub that brought us into the 4th and 5th electrical usage tiers every month. Bill was $200+ /month. At zero $ down, we had the 18 panels installed and now we're paying a flat fee of $112/month for 20 years. We're not moving, so it made sense. We keep the system in 20 years. About half-a-percent/year loss of efficiency. We get to run our hot tub and save money! I shopped Sungevity, SolarCity, and a local installer. Sungevity made the most sense for several reasons. Now after 1 year, our first PGE TrueUp bill comes at the end of June. I think we'll have saved $686 in 2014-15 over what PGE would have billed us. And if rates go up again (CA PUC usually approves rate increases), we will be even further ahead. The installation process was simple; we did need a new roof, but it was no problem to delay the solar installation for the new roof and the two companies worked well together. The hardware speced by Sungevity was all approved by the roofer, as well, so I'm comfortable knowing other industry pros approve their choices.

I rate them this way particularly due to my project manager Zac O was extremely difficult to reach. I found that he dodged phone calls, I would call from my number and he wouldn't answer, then I would call from a different line and he would answer. I would send an email and they weren't returned in a timely manner. I was told my system would have production and consumption monitoring in the mobile monitoring app, but it only has production listed. I was told that the monitoring app would also have the capability of monitoring all 60 cells on each of the panels allowing me to see whether there was a cell on a panel that was not producing. Then when the system was installed and when I was using the app the panel access and consumption metrics are not shown in the app. When I asked contacted Zac about it he said that only they have access to the panels in the application. Which is not what I was told by my sales rep Scott (who was excellent and personable - but in hindsight now I don't know if he was merely lying to me about the mobile monitoring just to make the sale; if so then that's really ashamed). It's been almost 2 months since I've heard from their customer service rep Rosanna that said that their Senior Solutions Manager would be getting in contact with me to discuss my concerns, I've followed up with her via email and I've called Zac and left him a message (again), but I still haven't heard from either of them. The installation went well, the approvals were taken care of by the company (my complaint on this part of the process was due to poor management of the project and getting the approval to turn the system on in a timely manner). After it was installed my system sat for a month on my roof, so we had to pay an extra month of power bill to the utility company. I encourage the Sungevity leadership to reach out to me directly.

I got several quotes from solar companies and I just like the friendliness and professionalism. I don't know how to rate the quality of the equipment because it's only been installed / operational for about a week. The installation went at an even pace though.

We don't have any information about how it works. They were supposed to come out and tell us how it works and that hasn't happened yet. There's nothing on the app on our phone so we're sort of disappointed about that. Installation was fine, but they failed the first inspection and they had to do it a second time.
