I went with Sungevity because they have the best ratings on the internet. The system is very good, and the installation was fine. My only issue is that the contractors caused a little bit of damage and it took them a while for them to take care of it.

I was looking into Solar when I was at Lowes, and I was impressed with Sungevity. The consultation was very good and the installation was also good. The only thing that was a little confusing was that i had to deal with 5-6 different people throughout the installation process. But other than that everything has been great.

I RECENTLY CONTACTED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS SUNGEVITY TO ASK ABOUT MY SYSTEM. I'VE DISCOVERED THAT SUN JEVITY IS NO LONGER IN THE BUSINESS OF SOLAR PANELS AND THAT IT HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY a DIFFERENT COMPANY NAMED PINEAPPLE ENERGY. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT AS I SUSPECTED MY PANELS WERE ALL PLACED ON THE WRONG SIDE OF MY HOUSE WHEN THEY WERE ORIGINALLY INSTALLED 10 YEARS AGO. I SUSPECT THAT I AM NOT GETTING AS MUCH SOLAR ENERGY FROM THESE POWER PANELS AS I MIGHT HAVE IF THEY HAD BEEN PLACED ON THE CORRECT SIDE OF MY HOME. THE SERVICE PROVIDER GRACE A HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL TO ME AND VERY INFORMATIVE WE TALKED ABOUT PUTTING IN ADDITIONAL PANELS AND THE COST OF SUCH A THING, IT IS SOMETHING THAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO IN THE FUTURE. WHEN I CAN'T AFFORD IT FINANCIALLY. GRACE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN NICER OR MORE HELPFUL.

I experienced some frustration initially as I was trying to get an installation done in the middle of Covid Crisis 2020 and my Sungevity rep changed four times during the process. Eventually I was assigned to Sherril T. She did a good job of keeping me in the loop with regard to the process and progress of the permitting and such. (Permitting still the worst part of the process....how does it take my city a month to approve panels up on a roof??) She was also good about "one off" requests. Overall, I was ultimately satisfied with the whole process (at least from Sungevity's side, hence the five star rating). They did what they said they would do, at the price they quoted me, and their contractors showed up on time and did a good job.

From the moment I placed my first call through today I have had exceptional service and follow through. The Project Manager that was assigned to me was Shari R. & was so patient with me explaining in detail (which I love) next steps and timelines. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Sherril T. on several occasions for scheduling and she went above and beyond !!!! Our installers Chava and Joey were exceptional, professional, courteous and did not mind the many questions I had.
There are 2 additional people that should be noted: Spenser and his manager Robert; together they walked us through the details of our options so we could make the best choice for us.
I feel like we won the customer service and product quality lottery because of these aforementioned people.

I have been talking with Jacob off and on for the last couple months about installing solar panels on the roof of our home. He has been incredibly helpful, especially with his patience and understanding, as me and my wife wandered through all the aspects of the work to be done and what it would cost and could we afford it. He was, also, incredibly knowelegable with all aspects of the project and if he didn't know the answer to a question would say he needed to check and would get right back to us.... and he always did. In the end it was the costs associated with a rebuild of our roof (ripping off the shingles and replacing the original roof boards with plywood to accommodate the panels safely and securely) which made this project unpractical and not possible for us.

I'm currently in the sales process. Crystal was phenomenal at Solar Spectrum. Every single question was answered promptly and clearly to my satisfaction. There was no pressure during the process as I looked at 3 other companies.
By far this was one of the best sales experiences I have had with a company, even down to reading the entire contract from beginning to end.
The decision to move forward with Solar Spectrum was a combination of longevity in the industry, warranty / output guarantees, presentation of product, price, other reviews, and great monitoring app which I observed from other customers who referred me.
If the other phases of this project are as thorough with the same level of world class customer service, I will be making a lot of referrals.

I had an extremely positive experience working with Eric S. Everything was done by phone and I was able to screen share with him. He was extremely informative and answered all of my questions about their product and did so in a very professional manner. He even conference called with my friend(Mario), who is an architect, to discuss all of the technical details about my solar project. He has dealt with many industrial solar projects and told me this looks like the best solar panel design he has ever seen. From beginning to end Horizon solar has been fantastic! They answered all my questions regarding how solar works and the various options that were best for our home. Then the process of having them installed was so pain free. Our project coordinator was Emily P and she did a great job of ensuring we were up to date on all the information for instillation, inspection, and PTO. All communication I had with her was thorough and timely. She always made sure to follow up with me when I had specific questions for her. I would definitely recommend her as well as Horizon solar for anyone who feels overwhelmed by the process :)

I spoke with Amory one of the sales reps for SolarSpecturm, and he couldn't have been more helpful. I told him I had already contracted with another company but wanted to consider other bids before making a final commitment. Knowing the likelihood that I would contract with his company was not great he actually spent a considerable amount of time reviewing my situation and advised me that there was too much shade. While very supportive of solar energy, his company would not install solar panels on my roof because they wouldn't produce enough energy to make it economical. I felt like he went out of my way to protect me from making a bad purchase.

This review will be mostly about dealing with Anthony R at Sungevity. I requested a call to speak with someone about solar from Sungevity and 7 or 8 other companies. Other companies outright lied to me and pretty much seemed to say anything to try to get me to choose their company and wanted to push leasing even though I wanted to buy. I spoke with Anthony and yes he is a salesman and his goal is to get you to choose his company but I ended up choosing Sungevity based on my dealings with Anthony, the quality of what they use in their solar system and most importantly, their warranty (be weary of Manufacturers or Workmanship warranties). Anthony was a wealth of information and answered any and every question we could think of and pointed out thing I didn't. He never outright bad mouthed another company but keyed me into things that were too good to be true and told me in round about ways that I may want to look further into particular companies on my shortlist, i.e. "google X company and class action lawsuit and things like that. At the time when I started dealing with Anthony I was starting a new job and had to meet with a few remaining companies on my list so I told him I'd not be making a decision for at least a month and that he should reach out to me then, Not only did he not bother me for the entire month like the other companies did but when we did start talking again I didn't feel pressured and that was very important. He has been there along the way even after the sale had been made and still responds to emails and texts. I'd recommend Sungevity to anyone that is interested in going solar

This Memo is written to express our sincerest thanks and appreciation for a job above and beyond the call of duty. Our experience was a pleasure, and never once did we have doubt that the install & consumer service from Shari R and her field team was going to a headache! I generally have to follow-up on companies to find out the status of progress which can be a real hassle, in this case I did not have to get assertive. Her communications and constant contact where all we needed to keep us updated! Her team was amazing. These guys who did our installation where professional, friendly and they KNEW what they were doing! I was very afraid that damage was going to happen to the roof at some point and it never did... IN FACT Danny and his young energetic assistant, forgive me I forgot his name came back after some serious rain to look at a possible leak on our patio thinking it might have been from the new panels and we had called our roof man as we had just installed a new roof on the patio to see where and what was going on. WE WHERE SO VERY HAPPY they found a leak in a soft part of the roof not associated with the solar panels at all!! They went out of their way to find this leak and want YOU ALL to know how much we really appreciate your expertise and the crew’s willingness to find it. Their determination FIXED our leak and we have not had any issues since. What impressed me was they didn't have to do it. But they did... Thank you so very much from two satisfied and proud customers!!!! We love you guys and thank you for your patients....

Our sales rep, Brandon B, our Project Coordinator, Emily P, Jose and the Roofing Team who completed our re-roof, and Crew Tesla (Raymond, Gabriel, Habukka, Damion, and Josh) who installed our solar system, all earned 5 stars. Their pleasant professionalism, their competence and concern for our satisfaction with their work, went above and beyond our high expectations.
The roofers were able to get the job done between rain storms, and the hearty Crew Tesla worked in the rain to get all the panels installed. Emily kept us fully informed through-out the process, and promptly returned calls. Excellent customer service from the whole team. I had been referred to them by my brother-in-law and a close personal friend. Now I know why they recommended this company, and why I will do the same.

Joeseph F and Sungevity opened my eyes to the solar possibilities for our home in Rhode Island. Joseph and his team quickly designed and engineered a custom solar system that would not only satisfy the daily power requirements needed, and as bonus has the potential to net a profit back to us through the overage energy our system will produce! The thought of actually being compensated by the utility company was overwhelming... From the initial interview through the design process to the very detailed final quote, which included actual images of the property with the solar system installed, Joseph and Sungevity won us over, and we are looking forward to going solar!

Dino was very knowledge about solar and helped to answer all of my questions. I had checked into solar a few years back but didn't move forward because the system cost too much and I didn't think it made economic sense. Dino reengaged me and let me know that I could add a battery to my system. I really liked the benefits of the Sunrun Prepaid PPA, especially that my system would be covered for 25 years including a free battery replacement. Dino was able to walk me through the solar agreement and address my concerns about selling my home with a PPA. Furthermore Dino explained how the SolarEdge inverter worked and walked me through which appliances I could and couldn't back up. For me backing up my lights, refrigerator, and wifi was very important. Overall I am very happy I had the opportunity to work with Dino and get my solar system through Sungevity!

Of all the people I've dealt with for home improvement projects over many years Anthony is by far the most helpful, caring person I have ever spoken with. He is incredibly knowledgeable about heating problems and was adamant that I first solve my heating problem before installing solar panels. He cared more about helping me than immediately selling me solar panels. He is a rarity in today's world where almost everyone cares more about making money than helping people. After previously signing on with another solar company, I was left feeling very uneasy about the agreement. The other sales rep insisted we need additional panels and avoided quoting on the amount we were asking for. Taking advantage of the 7 day right to cancel, I was fortunate enough to come across Sungevity, and our new hero, Bill! He not only gave us a quote for what we were asking for but debunked some false information the other rep gave regarding solar. At the end of it all, we saved $43,000!!!! Couldn't have felt more at ease. We are so appreciative for Bill's attentiveness and professionalism.

My sales agent and the person who evaluated my home for its ability to handle the solar panels have both been very communicative in the process and the most prudent approach. For example, the direction of our roof for maximum benefit from the sun would reduce our electricity bill by around 72%. To reach 100% would have required double the capital cost because the other panels would have been less efficient in producing electricity as compared to the cost of the additional panels. They were also helpful in pointing out that my interest in acquiring a storage battery to allow for stand alone electrical support should our utility shut off power for several days would not achieve my goal. The batteries available would not give more than one day's stored power because it could not be recharged without my being on the grid. If the grid was shut down, the power from the solar panels alone would not allow recharging of the battery each day from that days solar power.

So far, so good. We purchased a system and it was up and running in about 2 months. I felt like we got a good system that will generate a lot of power for a reasonable price. We are counting on the tax incentive to make the project a home run. Rosa T was our project manager and was very responsive - probably the fastest email replies of any contractor we have dealt with. Some minor hic-ups in the process but that is to be expected with any major project.
I'm also very impressed with how "Clean" the install is. The conduit and control box are very nicely done and not unsightly at all. I was also impressed with our installation crew

After having an issue with obtaining performance data on the site, I called the contact phone number and left a message describing my issue. Nearly immediately, Blake emailed me and asked several specific questions to describe the issue. I checked the inverters getting the data in answering those questions. After that, he let me know that, if possible, they would resolve these issues remotely. In less than 4 hours, I received a call from a Tech, Matt, guiding me in troubleshooting, reset the inverts and ultimately resolving the issues. You can not beat this outstanding customer support. Honestly, I didn't choose Sungevity. They bought Solar Spectrum, just shortly after I had purchased and installed my solar from them.
My monitoring dashboard was never set up. I had tried to contact a few times but never received a response and never found a person to talk with or help me.
Being a busy dad, it was not high on my priority, my system was working fine, and so I neglected pushing on the issue and making sure the company properly hooked me up.
Finally I tried again to contact them, and again I got nowhere with email or phone. I went to www.consumeraffairs.com to look up the company, maybe they too were out of biz?
Their little online chat window auto popped up, and instead of ignoring it, I decided to give it a try to explain my problem.
They gave me a phone number. It was different and for Sungevity. I called and finally a person answered! But he couldn't help, he was actually from another subsidiary. But he gave me another email, and I sent a letter there explaining my plight.
That was when Blake H took my case. He reached out to me and within minutes had my monitoring dashboard up and running. I can now login and see the data my system is sending.

I started looking into solar two years ago and received a quote from Anthony who was very helpful back then and send us a good quote for at lease. When we decided not to go solar at that point he was very understanding and never bothered us again.
Two years later we are ready to get solar panels and I had forgotten about Anthony’ two years later we are ready to get solar panels and I had forgotten about Anthony and Sungevity. I contacted some other solar companies and the experience with the sales people that was very annoying since they were very pushy. I then remembered that I had already gotten a quote from Sungevity two years ago and contacted Anthony again.
He was super helpful and updated our quote using newer panels and have us a really good deal for purchasing the system.

I have always been interested in Solar, but had not really seriously checked into putting it on my house. I finally decided to check into the actual size and cost of units for my house. When I was looking on line I noticed that Sungevity had great ratings so I sent information to them. In a minute I got a call back from Patrick. Patrick was able to answer my questions and submitted information to the engineers to get a reccommended size and price. Although I decided not to Put the units on my house, it wasn't because of the company, it was because I'm hoping to move in a year or 2 and it doesn't make sense for me at this time. In the future when I move to a permanent home, I will call this company again!

I recently moved into my new home (exactly 1 week ago) and was looking to immediately install solar panels for cost savings. Anyone that has just purchased a new home knows that the last thing you want to deal with is being on the phone with a company setting up and planning!
Well this was not the case here. One phone call with Scott and he took care of EVERYTHING for me. Not only was he in communication with me on the phone giving me updates but when ever I was at work and not able to talk he would shoot me a quick text to let me know the status of my application and next steps. Scott was super patient and helped me every step of the way!
While I met with other solar companies they were not able to start my project until I had an actual electric bill which would have taken a month. Scott was able to start my project right away with no bill!
But it doesn't end there....he quoted me $20 less a month than the other company I met with! He was transparent about everything and no hidden cost or surprises.
Scott exceeded my expectations and put my mind at ease during the move.
Anyone thinking about going solar and looking for a company to deal with, I HIGHLY recommend Sungevity and my new friend Scott!

Solar Spectrum/Sungevity provided my with a system that met my expectations. With any large project there are bound to be concerns, or issue arise during the installation or execution of the system. Sungevity was able to address and resolve any and all of my concerns to my satisfaction. With some companies you have to fight to get concerns addressed. This was not the case with Sungevity. They just took care of my concerns immediately. The system has performed flawlessly since the installation, and I am very please with the amount of power the system is producing. I am coming close to the PGE true up time and so far it appears that I will not owe anything. My solar installation decision is likely to be one of my best financial decisions ever.

I worked with Alex A at Sungevity to get solar panels for our home. I got quotes and had intro conversations with 5-6 different companies, and not only was Sungevity the absolute best value and price, Alex was an amazing rep to help us through the process. He opened up his schedule for whenever was convenient, sent us all of the info we needed, patiently answered all of our questions, and was just a phone call away whenever any new questions or concerns came up. Sungevity's customer service and Alex's personal touch on the whole process have been phenomenal. Their pricing options are also very reasonable and the best deals we got from all of our quotes. We're really excited to move forward and get our new solar panels installed this summer!

I'm a returning customer to Sungevity. I sold the old house (we leased solar, absolutely no problem selling the house) and bought a new one in Aug 2018. Vivint came to the door and we came close to buying into the PPA... until I did the math and realized that, what appears to be free, actually equates to $50,408 in rented power over 20 years! True, better than PG&E (more like $200,000 over 20 years), but I'd rather own! So called Sungevity and Crystal explained how they could help me purchase using my tax credit as a down. She knew all the answers, the process was automated, entirely professional and pleasant to boot! To summarize, I'm going with Sungevity because everyone there is professional (sales, support, the local crew, everyone.) and the material and service is top quality. Thanks for the help, Crystal!

So far so good. Original sales representative explained the benefits of solar energy thoroughly and without pressure. He answered any questions we asked and explained his answers. We were told the process would take several months before solar energy would be authorized to use. After a few inspections and approval with SCE, we are on solar power. Overall no issues or problems with any employees or contractors. The solar panel installers and power box crew very professional and courteous. Any questions about follow up procedures or any other concerns we had about the process were quickly answered and handled by Horizon representative Karla M. Hoping to save money with solar and no more excessively high bills from SCE.

Really, the whole experience can be described in just two words:
Very professional.
Appointments were made, and they were kept. Promises of performance was made, and kept. Time from first call to test and turn up was less than a month. really, the longest part of the process was waiting for a non-rainy day to install the panels.
The crew that installed the panels and associated framing and equipment were also very professional and really knew thier jobs. They had long working relationships with the regulating authorities and the inspections were brief due to the level of trust they had in the crew that installed it. They also worked with me on last minute adjustments to improve the ascetics of the install.
The project manager and sales team were in constant communication with me, checking up on each step. Always asking how they could improve.
Again, nothing but good things to say, but if you want to hear it again... Very professional.

My experience started with Alex A by telephone after my inquiry via the "Best Companies" website. Alex was very professional, friendly and best of all not a typical salesman. He didn't try to "sell" me, he educated me about the differences between their company and others. For one thing, they had the best financing, a 12 yr. loan at 2.99%. No down payment. But more important was their warranties, which can be confusing when you shop around, but worth doing. They cover ALL the bases. They don't make promises they can't keep. Also, their panels are made in Germany ( known for awesome engineering) versus China. These things were important to me, as well as the fact that after 12 yrs., when I have no more payments, and I own them, the panels will only have degraded 15%. As far as the process of actually "going solar", there is quite a bit involved that I needed to know, and any time I had a question my email was returned immediately or I'd get a phone call. Mike T, the project manager after the sale, was likewise: professional with quick follow up on issues, easy to talk to. Lastly, even though the company is Nationwide, they use local installers, which helps my community. I tell people, don't rush into the first contract that comes your way. Check out a few companies that have been doing solar for years, including this one before you make the commitment. They know what they are doing.

Whenever I consider making a major purchase, I always get at least 3 estimates. I started looking at different solar companies and contacted 3 with good ratings. The first response I received was from Patrick S of Sungevity. He was not pushy and sent my e-mail a visual program that explained how solar works and the entire process of installing solar...From getting necessary permits, to roof inspection, to costs and financing , plus tax incentives to how solar is utilized and stored with local utility company for our future use etc. In addition, we had made an appointment for him to speak with my fiance (homeowner), and he followed through, despite its being very late (like between 7- 8pm), as opposed to our 5-6pm since we are in California. My fiance asked him to follow up with us a month later since we had to get new roofing and HVAC figures, and again, he kept his word, and followed up a month later...I always say, a man is as good as his word, and Patrick would have my business in a heart beat, as he is a man of his word. None of the other solar companies got back in a timely fashion with us like Patrick S.

Solar Spectrum, (Specifically Sonny N.) saved me from dealing with a different fraudulent solar co. Sonny has been extremely professional and more informative than any other customer service provider I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Frankly, Sonny has bulldogged for me and my families solar needs and has single handedly slashed our energy bill to a quarter of what it was.
Solar Spectrum, I firmly believe that your employee "Sonny N" is due for a raise and a promotion. He should be the model of customer service and prompt responsiveness in my opinion.

I am still in my information gathering stage, but I have to highly recommend specifically William M. I have called and spoken to 4 companies prior to my hour and 15 minute call to Matthew. He was knowledgeable, professional, patient ( exceedingly patient ) all in all a fantastic representative of Sungevity, and were I still looking for Reps for my own company I would be highly inclined to line his pockets and hire him myself! He patiently explained to me in great depth ( which I requested ) and brought me up to speed in all things solar, so I felt like i actually could handle a conversation about the field and not seem like a newbie. I never make a deal on first impressions and will be doing my due diligence, however, if we're talking a few thousand dollars difference in companies, based on Matthews customer service, these guys will have my business by Sunday even if they are the more expensive option ( which i don't know if they are just doing my legwork now ). Please take a moment to call these guys, you will not be disappointed! Business is about building relationships with people, the numbers need to work as well, but I do business with people not companies.

I wanted a purchase plan and they offered the 25 year plan which worked for me. Alex was great with the sales part always staying in touch and very informative. Michael T that was the project manager could not have been more helpful even in areas that I don’t think we’re his areas. Really great customer service from him. Blaze got involved with me because I didn’t like the monitoring website and I was having problems with it. He answered any questions that I had about the solar production and also provided me with an app (SolarEdge) which is what I was wanting in the first place so all in all I was very happy with the experience. The installers were a couple weeks behind but that was not anything that anyone could control.

We had a Great experience with Scott. Scott had us excited about getting solar. His knowledge about the product and process was awesome. His mannerism and presentation sold my reluctant husband. I was anxious to refer family and friends to speak with Scott. However, the second part, the installation process of which was not with Scott; it was with another person and installation company, this was disappointment. There was too many delays dealing with the installation portion of the process. I wish we could've dealt with Scott throughout the entire process. The panels are installed; however, still not in use.

My husband and I were extremely surprised and disappointed to find that our system had not been producing power for several months. The issue was only brought to our attention when we received an ~$1800 bill from SC Edison. And although we had difficulty getting in touch with a customer service representative initially, once we made contact with Blake H (Senior Manager - Solar Spectrum), we were relieved as he was SUPER helpful and provided us with prompt communications. Ultimately, we were pleased with the outcome (we received a partial refund to help offset the bill incurred). Truly appreciate Blake's professionalism and understanding. He made what was initially a very frustrating situation much easier to manage.
